Has been out shone by other skin care items

I have been a fan of Green Tea in the past, often wearing the fragrance and complimentary skin products too. I have had a tube of Green Tea Energizing Skin Moisture Lotion, along with the matching fragrance, scrub and body milk, hanging about unused for ages. It hasn't appealed to me much of late, but I thought I would give it a chance to see if I would fall back in love with it now that warmer days are with us.

The light fragrance is mild and not overpowering and the ingredients within the moisturising lotion are there to calm, smooth and revitalize your tired skin. I find that the lotion does feel very light weight on the skin, but having been more recently converted towards using the newer skin serums with retinol, I don't think it competes as well as it could.

Elizabeth Arden say that the lotion can 'empower your skin', not sure mine felt empowered, but it did feel soft and moisturized. The lotion has been specially blended with calming green tea which is held within the lotions moisture complex. Vitamin E has been added to help provide extra moisture and promote the skins elasticity. Mmm, well again all I can say to that is that it felt quite nice, but wouldn't be my first choice of skin care product anymore.

The green tea and vitamin E should help protect your skin from damaging 'free radicals', which is a phrase often used on facial skin care products. I take this to mean that it protects the facial skin from the stresses of everyday life and weather conditions. The addition of SPF15 will also help minimize skin damage from the sun.

The lotion is best applied to a cleansed and toned complexion before applying make up. I found it really lightweight and easily absorbed into the skin leaving a soft ish scent behind. You can apply the lotion to both your face and neck area and if you apply it sparingly the product should last between 4 to 6 weeks per tube.

The fragrance used in the lotion is similar to that in the EDT spray and that to me seems to have a rather long lasting aroma of cucumber with a touch of green tea and mint! I have no idea why as cucumber doesn't seem to be listed as an ingredient in the EDT fragrance. Yet all the Green Tea products I have including the moisturising lotion seem to smell of it. Its not too bad in the face product, but I think it would have been better un-fragranced for use in that area. I do think its reminiscent of the Avon cucumber peel off face masks in a way.

There have been additions to the Green Tea fragrance and skincare range over time and these include Green Tea Exotic, Green Tea Revitalize, Green Tea Lotus and the more recent Green Tea Lavender. They all have a few complimentary skin and body products within their range. I would like to try some of the the lavender products just to see if I like any of them.

Having had this for a while I know I paid less then it seems to be on sale at now. It can be found for any thing between £11 to £20 for 50ml, so its really worth looking around for those cheaper prices!

In summary, I found the lotion ok to use, it did provide moisture to the skin, but I feel there are many other similarly priced facial skincare products that offer much more value for money. They also smell less like a cucumber face mask. To me the whole green tea range has been out shone, by other more interesting and more efficient skin care brands. So as such I can only give a 3 star rating for Green Tea.
