Essential care is a lovely family run business in Suffolk which focuses on producing natural skincare. Their products are soil association approved, contain no nasties and their products are packaged with care for the environment. Orders are sent out well wrapped and quickly and their customer service is excellent. Products are made in England in small batches to ensure freshness.
I came across the brand when I was trying to find a replacement for Liz Earle products after she sold out to Avon. It was recommended to me on a forum but I can't remember which one. Basically, I started out with a try me skin care set for a trip away and am now a regular user of the products.
The organic avocado replenishing cream is sold as either a night cream or a day cream for dry or mature skin. I have slightly dry skin and so I use it as a day cream in the winter months. It is available in two sizes: 50ml and 15ml which cost £18 and £7.50 respectively. The larger size is a pump bottle which gives out a set amount and the smaller one is a tube. The products last a long time and you don't need a lot to cover your skin. One pump of the larger tube is enough to do your whole face.
The key ingredients are avocado, lavender and frankinsense. As per the name, the avocado is the most noticable. It colours the product with a green tinge and is the main fragrance although you can also smell the lavender. Importantly for me, you can't really smell the frankinsense because I'm not a huge fan! The cream has a nice consistancy, rubs in quickly and doesn't leave the skin shiny. During the day, skin still feels well moisturised and soft.
The packaging suggests patch testing before use and details that the product is made using the cold pressed oils of avocado and olives. It is suitable for vegans and 95% organically grown and produced.
The packaging is suitable for recycling although it isn't always easy to get the label off!
