Advantages: Gentle, cleansing, smell nice, cheap

Disadvantages: None

I picked up a couple of packs of these a few weeks ago whilst shopping in Waitrose as they were on offer. The usual price per pack of 25 wipes is £1.59, but as they were on offer at two packs for £2.00 I decided to buy some to try - I find it hard to resist a bargain!

I'm not brand loyal when it comes to face wipes but as I have such sensetive skin I am always careful which types I choose. I chose these because they sounded quite gentle and I've tried cucumber scented facial wipes before (from another brand) and really liked them. There is also a vitamin E version of these face wipes available, which I will definetly be trying once I've used all of these ones up!

These wipes are part of the Waitrose Essential range and they come in a basic rectangular packet which is made of a thin plastic-like material. The packet is white with the brand name written in black writing and the product name written in green writing. There's then a brief product description which says that the wipes contain cucumber extract, which helps to refresh the skin. They say that the wipes should be used daily to cleanse, tone and remove make-up including waterproof mascara. There's a grey circle which says '25' making it clear how many wipes are in the packet and the ingredients etc are listed on the back.

The packet is easy to open; it has a piece of very thin plastic-like material stuck onto the front, which when peeled pack reveals a hole where the wipes can be pulled out of. The wipes do stick together so usually 2 or 3 come out at once, but this doesn't bother me too much as it takes me a couple of wipes to remove my makeup and clean my face and neck.

The wipes are a decent size when unfolded and they're a rectangular shape. They're quite thick which I was pleasantly suprised with, as cheap wipes usually have the same texture as damp kitchen roll! The wipes are damp but not so full of moisture that water comes out of them when squeezed/when they're pressed against my skin. They're made of soft, cotton-like material which is completely smooth on both sides, meaning they're gentle against my skin.

The wipes do a great job in removing makeup quickly and I don't need to scrub the wipe against my skin; these are really effective and I was suprised at just how easily they remove eye make up - waterproof mascara and eyeliner included. The wipes leave my skin feeling fresh, clean and smooth and they don't leave any sticky or greasy residue. They do leave my skin feeling slightly damp, but this feeling goes away after a few minutes. The wipes smell nice and fresh and the subtle smell of cucumber is noticeable and really pleasant. The smell does not linger for very long which I like.

I've not had any problems with the wipes irritating my skin or making me break out, nor do they dry out my skin. I've found them to be really gentle and effecient and I am very impressed with them considering the price. Overall, recommended - cheap, great at removing makeup and they smell nice, too!
