May be too rich for oily combination skins, good all rounder.

I was really glad to try this cream as it seemed to have everything - an SPF, hydration, protection with antioxidant complex, it was ideal. The price is a little expensive at £40 for a 50ml pot, but if it was a decent effective cream it was going to be worth it.

Sadly, still not quite right for me - the texture is simply too rich and greasy, even applying less brings out the shine. I have combination oily skin, so this may be the reason why. The cream is probably better for younger skins that are dry, I say younger - as in 20s or less, as the cream does not seem to do anything for wrinkles, firming or give definition. But having said that, younger skins are normal quite oily as well. I was a little disappointed with this as I also found that it didn't absorb very well into the skin, even on my hands which are fairly dry, it still left a slight greasy sheen.

It's a shame, as the cream and its features sound so good, I think there is meant to be an oil free version which is new and has just come out recently, I would definitely try this, so watch this space!

Applying make up on top of this is surprisingly good, it blends in very well, but again, the oiliness still comes through. As the cream is so rich, it also tends to make me look as if I've got more make up on than I really have.

The scent is similar to cucumber but I find it can be a bit off putting after a while, I also think it's a little too strong.

A little bit disappointed with the texture of it mainly, it would have been the perfect all round moisturiser. However, they also do the same cream in the 'fluid lotion', so there'll be another review on that!

      a girls best friend

      ~ * ~ * ~ *~ *~ *~ Introduction ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
Having discovered Estee Lauder products aprox 1 year ago ive become a huge fan. I decided to treat myself to this face cream only last month and am already in love with it. My 2year old has asthma which is pretty bad resulting in 3 trips alone the past few weeks to hospital so he could be put on a nebuliser, its ment long stays in hospital for hours and hours and many late nights then early mornings taking my eldest to school, I hate to sat it but my skin was starting to show the results of this..... skin looking awful! Even friends have commented how tired and run down I look.....erm thanks for that! As I was already familiar with Estee Lauder facial products and was happy with the quality and results I decided to treat myself to a decent face cream to hopefully put a bit of life back into my skin. Other than what im used to and what I know works for me, I also always look into award winning products, which this product did, it won the 'Instyle Best Beauty Buy 2013'.

      ~ * ~ * ~ *~ *~ *~ Estee Lauder DayWear ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
The product is by Estee Lauder, a very well known and high quality brand, their products are quite expensive when you compare them to other products on the market but they stand aside with their high quality ingredients. The cream is an advanced multi protection cream which I felt I needed for my skin. The Anti-Oxidant helps keep skin safe with its SPF 15 unlike a lot of other creams, sun ages the skin dreadfully so this really was another deciding factor for me, along with its advanced formula that is designed to defend against and diminish the appearance of the first signs of aging such as fine lines, while im 24 (25 on Easter) I want to keep looking young.

I wont go into the long list of ingredients because I feel it unnecessary, but I will mention a few things this cream contains that is very important for the skin, such as Vitamins C and E, Eukarion which is a anti-oxidant, which protects the cells from aging.

The product comes in what I feel looks like quite an expensive looking jar, transparent with a hint of mint green through the glass showing the colour of the cream, and finished off with a gold lid, displaying the 'EL' logo on the top. Most moisturises come in a tube so even looks wise this stands out from the crowd. The cream I purchased is suitable for normal/combination skin, but can also be purchased for dry skin. It is an advanced multi-protection anti-oxidant spf 15 cream.

The cream is available for both Normal/Combination skin (which I used) and Dry skin.

      ~ * ~ * ~ *~ *~ *~ In Use ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
When opening the gold lid you will see a white protective lid with a small tab to lift the white lid up to help keep the cream from spilling anywhere, under that white lid is the cream. You can immediately smell fresh cucumbers when lifting the tab, the colour of the cream is a very light mint green (which I guessed from the colour of the jar).

I followed the instructions, apply AM & PM after the repair serum. (I do have the advanced night repair serum but decided against using it just yet as im only 24 and have no lines as of yet), I am going to start using this within the next few weeks/months to get a head start on things. So I started with normal facial cleaning ritual: Cleanser, and toner first followed by this. I used a very small amount (size of 5 pence piece) and it covered my entire face. It is very lightweight and soft to touch with a silky feel to it, I applied it all over and gently worked it into my skin gently using my finger tips, it immediately soaked into my skin and dried within seconds. So is also ideal for putting on before make up to help with any dry patches! The cream felt very rich but not over powering.

      ~ * ~ * ~ *~ *~ *~ My Thoughts ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
When looking for the right product for my face I first made sure I was buying the correct moisturiser for my skin type. At school all of my friends had the oily T-Zone, while i had the dry T-Zone, we all swapped products which ment I would use their make up/creams designed for oily skin even tho my skin was dry, so that probally didnt help with the dryness I already suffered from, when I left school at 16 to get a job I couldn't afford much so always ended up buying cheap moisturises which softened my skin but that was about it, my skin never looked improved or healthy. So this time I decided to get it right, I went to Boots store to seek advice as I was stuck between the options I had, 'Normal/combination' or 'Dry', as I knew it wasn't oily. The lady first advised I look at other brands for younger skin but as im happy with Estee Lauder I wanted to stick with them, I was then helped with the creams for different skin types, she suggested i try normal/combination as I suffer from the odd spot when stressed so didn't want to offer me the dry cream in case that was too much for my skin.

Because the cream is designed to help protect against aging I was worried the cream would be very thick, and while it is rich it isn't over powering, I feel they have got the mixture just right. With having dry skin I didn't want a product that would contain oils causing spots, so this cream was picked carefully and I do feel I have picked the right one. It protects my skin against pollution and the atmosphere while helping to stop any dryness or fine lines that is aging.

Obviously cheaper products can contain great ingredients but for me now I stick with Estee Lauder products because I know they work and trust their ingredients, I don't want to waste money trying every cheap moisturiser when I can just buy this and ive seen the difference, majority of moisturises contain vitamin C and E, but the Eukarion along with a few others in this cream are pretty unique and are proven to work fight the signs of aging. So while cheaper products are great for your purse id rather spend that bit extra on a decent product.

I love the product!! I have used it religiously morning and night for the past few months now and can see an improvement. I sometimes suffer from the odd spot, and have 2 different creams that seriously dried up my skin to the point I could not wear make up as the spot cream made my skin flakey, this cream was the only thing that helped my dry skin.

It smells delicious, very light and soft and has improved my skin, it now looks dehydrated and fresh. My Skin doesn't look so dull, its softer to touch and it has made it easier to put make up on, ive also done away with using my primer as this works a treat. It provides moisture that my primer didn't, and creates the perfect base for my foundation. Ive only been using it a few months and still have nearly a full jar as a little really does go a long way. Nothing but positives for this product.

      Highly recommended to anyone!

      ~ * ~ * ~ *~ *~ *~ Price And Availability ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
The cream retails at just over £40 for 50ml, and can be brought in department stores or boots, amazon etc. Should you only want a trial size, you can pick up a 15ml jar for £10.99 from Amazon. Buying from Estee Lauder means you get 2 free samples....and who doesn't like a sample! I buy from Boots because my sister works for smashbox so always gets me a discount.

I have been a big fan of Estee lauder's products for about 7 years now. I use their double wear foundation and when purchasing one last month I noticed there was a deal on which meant if I bought one foundation and another product I would get a make-up bag full of mini sample luxuries, including an eye shadow palette and some skincare samples. Of course one of these skin care samples was the 'Estee lauder day wear' moisturizer. The sample size was 15ml and to be quite honest even though it looked like a fairly small compact size it actually has a fair amount of product in the tub.

The moisturizer in its official normal size costs £37 for 50ml and can be purchased from Estee Lauder counters in most beauty departments. The cream is available in: normal/combination skin and one for dry skin. I would have been better with the dry skin option as my skin can get pretty dry, however, it wasn't an option when I got the make-up bag so I have the normal/combination cream, I'm guessing they put the normal/combination in all the other bags as my two friends got the same option, unless it's just that store.

I know a lot of people aren't keen on the idea of paraphrasing what the Manufacturer says, but I do think it is pretty interesting to see what they say and comparing it to the review. So According to Estee Lauder, the cream is an advanced moisturizer, which defends against and diminishes the appearance of signs of premature ageing. So for a younger person like myself in my 20's it would be ideal. Estee lauder has Super Anti-Oxidant Complex in it which helps safeguard skin with advanced broad-spectrum sunscreen with their best UVA defence. The cream is supposed to reduces the appearance of first signs of ageing, like dullness and fine, dry lines.
Additionally, The cream has: Vitamins C and E, Eukarion and EGTProtect with Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen in it too.

The cream is quite an unusual colour for a skincare cream I have used, it is a white with a tint of green, it does have a smell of cucumbers which is possibly why Estee lauder made the cream this white/green shade. I wasn't sure how well the cream would work, as it is very light in consistency, compared to my Oilatum moisturizer, which is thick and creamy. What I like about the fact though that it is light, is that it absorbs in the skin so well, so well that you wouldn't feel like you have put a layer sitting on the top of your skin like some moisturizers, but at the same time you feel like your skin is moisturized and smooth thanks to its vitamin e properties.
Due to the moisturizer been light, it is good for applying make-up on top of, with some heavy moisturizers you have the problem of the foundation not blending as well on top of it as it just seems to come off.

The packaging is very exquisite which I didn't expect with a sample. The sample is the same as the original size just the obvious, smaller.
The lid is gold, which is a screw on and off one, I find this a lot easier to use because you can get into the jar and get right to the very end when it runs out, whereas with a squeeze tube you have to squeeze it to get it all out.
The jar clear but also looks in some angles with the light like the tinted green cream, which looks really nice with the gold lid.
All in all, the jar tub looks really attractive and expensive. Which I guess it is quite expensive when paying the full price.

A little does go a logway, so don't be too alarmed by the price, I initially mentioned of £37. You only need a tiny amount and it covers the whole of your face, despite the light consistency.

      Moisturizing enough?
I'd definitely say for a normal/combination skin type it would be pretty much 10/10 as I can see why a combination skin type would benefit from this as it's not greasy in the slightest but yet does moisturize enough for someone who has slightly dry skin.
For someone with the skin type 'dry' like myself, it doesn't quite do it, but that's not Estee lauders fault, as they do have a dry skin cream which I'm sure will suffice, it's just a matter of having the wrong one for my skin.

Therefore, because I cannot fault this cream and know it would be pretty much ideal for combination, I will have to give it 5 stars. The packaging, the properties and just the overall feel are great.
Once again Estee Lauder hasn't let me down.

An expensive but nice day cream.

An award winning moisturiser I got in a set with various other skincare products. A treat to use but an expensive one!

Estee Lauder is easy to get hold of, it's in all the department stores and most Boots stores and also online.

        THE CLAIMS:

        * An advanced moisturiser to defend against-and diminish-the appearance of signs of premature ageing.

        * DayWear helps safeguard skin with advanced broad-spectrum sunscreen and our best UVA defense.

        * Reduces the appearance of first signs of ageing, like dullness and fine, dry lines.

When choosing a day cream I'd normally go for something oil-free, this one wasn't but I think they do an oil-free version now. I love the texture of this cream it's very light which I need for the day as a base underneath my make-up, it's very refreshing. It has a very stong smell of cucumber which I'm not crazy about. My skin looked very healthy and radiant when I was using it and most of all felt hydrated without feeling greasy.

With the added SPF this moisturiser is designed to help defend against harmful UV rays keeping the skin looking youthful, always a bonus!

A 50ml tub comes with a hefty £39.00 price tag, upon use I needed rather a lot of the product as it was very light therefore it doesn't last very long. I personally can't justify spending this amount on something that doesn't last very long despite liking the product.

        A lovely product

I received a 15ml sample of this moisturiser in a gift set from Estee Lauder. The full size product retails at £39 for 50ml and can be purchased from Estee Lauder counters nationwide. The cream comes in 2 different varieties one for normal/combination skin and another for dry skin. I have the normal/combination option.

According to Estee Lauder, this is an advanced moisturizer to defend against signs of premature aging which contains the most effective anti-oxidants ever - this includes Vitamin C and E. DayWear helps safeguard skin with advanced broad-spectrum sunscreen. It meets the most advanced standards around the world for UVA protection and by helping defend against damaging UV rays, it helps protect skin to keep it looking younger for longer.

The cream is white with a tint of green colouring, and it has a refreshing cucumber fragrance. The cream is fairly light and silky in consistency, which blends and is absorbed almost instantly on the face. My skin feels quenched and moisturised immediately and the fragrance is refreshing and uplifting. The cream leaves a slightly dewy look on the face, but not greasy or shiny and it does not feel heavy on the skin. This moisturiser provides a smooth base for applying foundation and makeup without reducing its longevity or causing it to slide. My skin feels and looks soft and supple all day long. The great component of this cream is the antioxidant properties and SPF 15 which help protect the skin from damage.

I have not experienced any adverse reaction to this moisturiser, it has not blocked my pores or caused any irritation.

Overall, this is a lovely moisturiser which helps protect the skin. I am so pleased I received a free sample! A little goes a long way and my 15ml sample lasted around 6 weeks of daily application. I would definitely use this again, but as it is pricey I would probably use my advantage card points to soften the blow.
