      Advantages

      Disadvantages

I read so many good reviews about this product and finally gave it a go and bought it. Unfortunatelly I am not very happy with this products. First of all it makes me skin red and irritated and secondly it takes a long time to wash it off. I would like to add that it also makes me skin quite oily after I use it. So to sum it it up it is definitely not a good buy.

Too harsh for me, try and get a sample before you buy.

As a user of the excellent idealist skin refinisher, I thought I would give this accompanying exfoliant a try. I had heard good things about it from reviews on other sites.

Here is the official description from Estee Lauder:

"This gentle, at-home alternative to micro-dermabrasion is the ideal partner to Idealist Skin Refinisher. Delivers dramatic skin resurfacing benefits with our exclusive TripleSphere Refinishing System. Deep, thermal action warms skin to help open, detoxify and minimize pores. One application, and the radiant skin you want is revealed. Your ideal skin. No appointment necessary. Feel it. Smooth and polished. See it. Clearer, less visibly lined and virtually pore less. Perfect for all skin types".

Sounds divine! So I merrily forked out my £30.

Now I must be honest that although my skin is oily-combination it can tend at times to be very sensitive. Therefore it should have occured to me that a product aiming to mimic microdermabrasion, that you are advised to use twice a week, may have been a little harsh for me. In general my skin did feel smoother and softer but the experience of using the product did not make the result worth it for me.

The product is a white coloured scrub which apparently smells of lemon but in my opinion just smells vile (not a good start). One is supposed to apply it to damp skin to allow it to warm up and then massage it gently into the skin before rinsing. I found the consistency of the product really unpleasant and the entire process felt to me as if my face was on being dowsed with acid.

Anyway I dont like to give up on something (not least something expensive) too soon but sadly every time I used it my skin ended up remaining red for about half an hour afterwards and I needed to splash it with lots of cold water. Not ideal (boom boom!) for a girl on the go.

This is just my experience of micro-d, perhaps someone with more hardy skin than mine may really love this product. I think I am also someone who likes skin products to smell nice and not remind me of a chemistry laboratory. Buy a sample version first!!
