“ Brand: Eucerin / Texture: Cream / Type: Moisture Cream / Subcategory: Moisturiser / What it does: Hydrates, Refreshes, „
As you may be aware from reading some of my other reviews, I usually go for Body Shop branded products, but I won a pot of Eucerin hydro balance cream so I gave it a try! ************** What does it claim to do? ************* The website claims that this product is fast-absorbing, oil free and instantly moisturises for smoother and more subtle. It also claims to last twenty four hours. The company claim that t is for sensitive, dehydrated skin (normal to combination skin). It is also supposedly non-comedognenic (whatever that means), fragrance free, alcohol free, colorant free and has a light, oil-free texture. *************** The packaging ***************** I was impressed by the packaging of this product. It comes in a blue glass pot. It is quite a sturdy container so you could transport it anywhere and it looks good on the bedside table. *************** My opinion ******************* I liked the effect this cream had on my skin but it wasn't amazing. It felt a bit greasy when I first applied it, but it absorbed well into my face. I used about a ten pence piece sized portion each time I applied (which is more moisturiser than I'd normally use and the pot lasted me about two months (I applied it twice a day). I was a bit dubious about some of the manufacturer's claims. I didn't think it left my skin moisturised for 24 hours (I had to use this product twice a day) and it has quite a distinctive smell (even though it is supposedly fragrance free). I enjoyed using this product, but not enough to buy it. I don't think it is worth £12, but if somebody gave me another pot I'd happily use it...
I haven't done a review on a face cream in ages. Simply as I have my trusted brands and I very rarely deviate from them as I know what works for me and if I start messing about my face suffers from it. I don't have great skin as it is and I don't want to upset it so I usually just buy Olay products! However I was out shopping (yes in Book's ok I said it lol) and I was about to purchase a bottle of my usual when I spotted this Eucerin Hyro-Balance, refreshing hydrating cream for normal to combination facial skin. Promises... 24 hours moisturisation. Fragrance Free, colourant and alcohol free Non - comedogenic That its a great make-up base Instantly hydrates normal to combination sensitive skin, thanks to the cooling and fast absorbing texture of the cream Packaging.... Blue plastic tube, recyclable with a white plastic lid clearly telling me what the product is and who it is by and tells me the makers are Beiersdorf. I have combination skin so it sounded perfect in every way for me. The lotion is white, it's not thick but its not thin and runny its kind of the consistency of a lotion rather than a cream. As soon as you apply it melts into the skin. Now this cream is said to be fragrance free. Well if it is then my nostrils are telling me lies cos I'm sure I can smell a hint of fruit, really slight but I can smell it! Not that it bothers me at all it's just an observation lol Upon application it sinks in almost immediately as the claim states. It does feel a little greasy but 2 minutes later it has completely absorbed and leaves skin feeling incredibly smooth indeed and I understand why they say it makes a good make up base it really does. Wit this product I can use less foundation as foundation glides over the top of it. However it doesn't feel greasy at all just hydrated. Use it with out make and skin still feels hydrated hours later. The Results.... It's not stinging and perfect for around the eye area as it is mild and gentle. I do feel a slight tingling on the rest of my face whilst it's being absorbed but I take that as a good thing. It takes away any redness i may have on my face, particularly my spots and it doesn't feed them but at same time I can feel the hydration it gives me particularly after having a bath or shower when my face can feel very dry and tight. I love this cream as it's gentle and does all of what it promises. My skin feels great and smooth and I've been using it a while and had no problems at all. This doesn't promise to be anti ageing or anything else. It is a product for hydration and it gives me that completely. Before purchasing this cream I'd never seen it but will buy it again as it is totally suitable for this cold snap we are experiencing as I'm not walking around with any dry skin on my mush I'm very pleased with it as you can tell! 50ml tub £12.50 Boots.
