Although I was sceptical at first, reading the huge number of positive reviews of the product at www.folica.com convinced me to try a bottle of Mavala Double-Lash. It claims longer, thicker and conditioned eyelashes are achievable within three to four weeks, and varies in price across websites, ranging from £8.00 to £12.00 for a 10ml bottle. Although I've since found British websites selling the product, it was quite hard to find, I've yet to see it available in store, and I managed to buy mine from a pharmacy through Ebay. The screw bottle has a small mascara brush built into the cap, with a set of brief instructions explaining that the product should be brushed onto the lashes nightly prior to sleeping, with noticable effects seen within three to four weeks. The solution itself is pale in colour, and is clear when applied to the lashes. As such, it can be difficult to gauge whether there is sufficient amount on the brush or whether you have covered all areas of the lashes. It has a damp texture when applied, but does not become sticky or hardened and is completely unnoticable. As well as using it at night, I also applied the product each morning - brushing onto both my top or lower lashes to ensure all were covered from root to the tip, before finishing by using it similar to an eyeliner and painting a thin coat along the edges of the eyelids themselves. Should any get into your eye, it causes no reaction and is similar only to getting a splash of water in your eye. After three or four days, I noticed that my lashes - especially the lower set - were visibly darker and more pronounced. Since the product does not claim to darken lashes, I assume this was the result of them becoming thicker. Prior to using this, the bottom set were almost invisible and very short and stubble-like, so this was a dramatic and noticable improvement for me. Within a week, my upper lashes also seemed darker and slightly longer. Although I've yet to use it for another two weeks before I see the full effect it claims, so far I have been pleased with its effects. Apparently, the product can also be used on sparse eyebrows, or on men's facial hair to encourage growth.
