The perfume that I'm currently wearing is Marc Jacobs Pomegranate Splash. So I've been on a mission recently to buy pomegranate fragranced body products to complement my perfume. I spotted this Figs and Rouge Pomegrante Balm in Urban Outfitters and decided to buy it as it fits in with my pomegranate buying theme at the moment. A sucker for anything as my husband always says to me! This was £4.99, and it's a tin of balm that is a bit like a tin of Vaseline. I'd never heard of Figs and Rouge until I bought this, but basically all of their products are 100% pure, 100% organic and 100% natural. All of their products are also made in the UK. They do a number of different balms; pomegranate (nourishing and moisturising), rambling rose (moisturising and protecting), sweet geranium (conditioning and hydrating), peppermint and tea tree (soothing with anti-bacterial agents), aloe and mint (soothing and protecting), wild cherry (silky smooth lips!), and coco vanilla (delicious and indulgent). As I said I have the pomegranate balm, it is contained in a beautifully retro designed pink and green tin, and the top flips off just like a tin of Vaseline to get to the balm. Here's where the similarity with Vaseline ends. The Figs and Rouge pomegranate balm is a much more solid and waxy balm, as it doesn't contain any petroleum like Vaseline does. It is a clear balm, there's no colour in it. The pomegranate balm has a very subtle pomegranate fragrance, enough to distinguish it, but not too much that it's overpowering. The fragrance just lingers on your skin ever so slightly. I've used this balm in a number of ways so far, and have been really impressed with it. I've used it as a lip balm either alone or under lip gloss or lipstick, it is not greasy at all it just glides over your lips leaving them soft and smooth. It just leaves a gleam rather than a shine like some other lip balms, its not sticky and gloopy at all. I've used it on dry patches on my face overnight and found that they'd vanished by the morning. I've rubbed it into other dry patches on my skin and again found that it really soothes and heals them. It does actually feel really soothing and nourishing at soon as you rub it into your skin. I've rubbed it into the backs of my hand and it really seems to improve the texture of my hands. The balm is really easily absorbed, wherever you choose to use it, it's really nourishing and moisturising, and it really does protect your skin. I keep mine permanantly in my handbag now to use all the time. Altough it's only a small tin of balm, at 17ml, a little bit of this really does go a long way. I can't believe that I've never discovered these balms before, I'm definately going to buy another of the balms, I'm not sure which one yet as they all sound lovely. Maybe I'll end up with them all!
