Advantages: Light, refreshing, sinks in quickly, cheap

Disadvantages: Not moisturising enough for very dry skin

I try to use a body lotion or moisturiser every morning and night, so I get through quite a lot of it. I saw this new Garnier body moisturiser and decided to give it a try as I had been impressed with a Garnier gradual tanning moisturiser lotion that I had been using so I was happy to try more from Garnier.

The Intensive 7 Days range from Garnier includes lotions and gel creams. The product I bought was in the gel cream consistency, which is very light. I was attracted to that because I use some gel creams on my face (such as Clinique Moisture Surge) and I love how light and refreshing they are and how quickly they sink into the skin without any greasiness. I was pleased to find the Garnier gel cream also has these qualities.

This gel cream has a subtle fresh scent which has a hint of grape. I find the scent pleasant and not at all over powering. There are also other scents available in the gel cream consistency, including peach or aloe vera. The gel cream is very pale in colour, almost white. It feels very cooling when rubbed into the skin and absorbs easily and thoroughly without leaving any residue. This means you can get dressed immediately, so it is suited to busy mornings. The skin feels instantly hydrated but because the gel cream is so light, I don't think it would be moisturising enough for dry skin. It doesnt give as much moisture as you would get from a rich body butter, but for normal skin it is certainly enough for day to day use.

The packaging looks clean and attractive in a pale bluey green bottle with a simple design showing the Garnier logo and grape graphics to reflect the scent. It also states it contains L Bifidus, which I had not heard of but apparently is good for moisturising. The bottle curves in at the middle, making it easy to grab in your hand. It has a flip top and it is easy to dispense the cream.

The 250 ml bottle normally costs £2.99 but seems to be on offer at £1.99 in lots of shops at the moment, such as Boots, Superdrug, Savers and Bodycare. I think it is a good, budget price for this nice moisturiser which feels pleasant to use, moisturises normal skin effectively and keeps it soft.

I would definitely buy it again and I would also try some of the other scents.

Summary: Great light daily moisturiser
