“ Brand: Garnier / Type: Exfoliator / What it does: Cleanses, Detoxes, Purifies, „
Garinier clean detox product is a good exfoliator, I tend to use it a couple of times a week in the evenings.
You only need a small amound massage it around your face and neck. As with all exfoliators there are small beads these ones are just thr right grainyness, not too harsh it aggitates your skin but then not too soft that it dosent purify your skin the way you want. It also has a lovely minty kind of smell that is very refreshing
I have found that if I use this in the morning my skin is slightly red after so I tend to use it in the evening to give my skin time to cool down.
After application my skin feels refreshed, however make sure you dont over apply as I found it really aggrivated my skin, as with any exfoliator.
You can pick up this product for around £4 to £5 from boots, tesco superdrug and such like
Love it! Love it! Love it!
An excellent cleanser and exfoliator. Garnier Clean Detox is nice, thick, creamy and has that 'sticky' (in a good way) consistency which along with the exfoliating micro granules 'sticks' grime and dirt away from your face.
The granules feel nice and slightly sandy (unlike some exfoliators which have tiny plastic like beads which don't seem to rub/lift out dirt effectively) and leave your skin feeling clean and soft. It is not rough so your skin does not feel raw after use.
The creamy part of the exfoliator leaves your skin feeling supple and hydrated. I always have the impression that it's slightly thick consistency lifts the remaining smaller bits of grime, leaving my skin thoroughly cleansed.
The cleanser has a mild green, slightly minty and tea-like scent which is lovely and fresh.
A thoroughly effective and good cleanser, and at high street prices as well! Absolutely super!
When I bought this, my intention was that it was for my husband, not me. I usually use Guinot Gommage Biologique to exfoiliate as I find the grainy exfoiliators a bit too harsh. However Hubby has tough old male skin so he gets a grainy one of his own in an attempt to keep his paws off mine!
Having said that I usually try a bit of his, even if it's just on my legs!
It's quite distinctly Garnier with the trademark Green and white packaging, the tube is standard quality (lasts long enough to use the product but crumples a bit when you try to get the last few applications out), it has a black flip lid, which also doubles up as the base to stand the tube on, whilst this type of packaging is easy and convenient to use, I do find that if you leave it in the shower water collects in the flip lid (even if it's closed).
The packaging says the product is suitable for normal skin and a complexion which has become dull due to pollution and impurities. It has anti-oxidant green mint and Vitamin E which it claims will purify pores and detoxifiy the skin's surface. It promises fresher, softer skin and a radiant complexion.
The product says to use daily, massaging a hazlenut amount in a circular motion concentrating on forehead, nose and chin. Rinse thoroughly in cool water.
The cream is very thick and white in colour with small blue granules, from the texture I expected it to be quite harsh so I tried it first of all on my upper arms. The smell is nice and fruity and the cream lathers up slightly making the texture much smoother. My skin felt softer immediately. The next day I tried it on my face and was pleasantly surprised, it left my skin soft and smooth and did genuinely give a radiant glow. I did, however, feel my skin was a little dry afterwards.
I don't think I would be able to use it daily, but I'm sure someone without sensitive skin would not have a problem. My husband uses it daily and thinks it's good, one benefit for men is that the grainy granules prevent ingrown hairs from shaving.
The 150ml tube costs £4.99.
I bought a tube of this Garnier CleaDetox Detoxifying Exfoliation Wash (phew what a mouthful!) for my youngest daughter & I to try out as we both try to look after our faces as much as possible.
It cost £3.95 at our local discount stire & usually retails at around £4.99 for 150ml which is quite a generous size & lasts ages as you only need to use a hazlenut-size amount per application.
I've always been quite pleased with the results obtained by Garnier products & this is no exception.
The tube has a flip-top bottom & when you open that you can squeeze exactly the amount you need as the hole is well designed & doesn't clog up.
The cream itself is a light cream colour, a good consistency & has slightly rough particles in it which work well into the skin without being too abrasive.
You just apply to the skin rubbing gently (avoiding the eye area) & rinse off well with cold water. I find this works best after make-up is fully removed & having used a gentle cleanser.
My daughter & I are both of the opinion that our skin, after a week, looked much healthier, cleaner & more refreshed.
The smell is lovely - more like a scented, slightly floral fragrance rather than an effective exfoliater - some smell quite medicated/ chemist-smelling - but this is really nice & fresh.
Not only is the product easy to apply but also washes off easily & when I wiped a make-up pad over my face after use my face seemed not only clear of grime but soft to the touch.
The full list of ingredients are listed on the reverse of the tube - I won't list them for you, but just to let you know it conatins anti-oxidant green mint & vitamin E amongst (loads of) others.
I shall be buying this again as it's one of the best facial washes I've ever used & is a great price for what you get.
- sensible & attractive packaging.
- easy to apply & remove.
- smells good.
- does the job.
- leaves face & neck feeling & looking really clean.
- suitable for all skin types (but, with all products like this, I'd advise a patch test first).
Garnier clean detox
With winter rearing its ever uglier head my skin tends to dry out and look less than radiant; at this stage I tend to become more become more rigid in my beauty regime and like to properly exfoliate,
~~Who is it for?~~
This one is apparently for people with normal skin, which seems a good thing because I believe it will be a bit "middle of the road". It is suggested that it's for people who feel that their complexion has become dull because of the impurities accumulating on its surfaces every day- indeed, this is me!
It apparently does all of this detoxifying because it has an anti oxidant and also Vitamin E. Along with these there are small particles to purify pores.
~~Product and Packaging~~
The product comes in a plastic tube/bottle with a flip up to open lid. Very bright and instantly recognisable, all information is on the back.
Open the lid and squeeze a bit of the product out, and I can see the small blue particles in amongst the white cream. The smell itself is quite fruity and very pleasant.
It is recommended that to really let your skin breath freely, the product is used every day. The directions tell me that I should wet my face and apply a hazel nut sized portion of the exfoliator. The, it's a case of just massaging gently in circular motions, paying special attention to chin nose and forehead. The eye area should be avoided, and when enough of a massage has taken place, then the product should be rinsed off with cold water (yuck!).
~~Price and Availability~~
Easily available from supermarkets and chemists, RRP is £4.99, although it is being sold for half this at superdrug.
One thing which confused me was whether to use this before or after the removal of make up, as there is no indication on the instructions. So, undeterred, I have tried both, and have found that it is definitely better used on a clean face. So, I cleanse my face and apply the product as directed, and it really does just need a small amount, because a little does go a long way. The cream is easy to work into the skin, and whilst I can definitely feel those little particles, they are not at all abrasive, and I don't have a bright red sore looking face when the cream is rinsed off (with warm water- I can't do the cold thing).
Having used it for a few weeks, my skin does definitely feel cleaner, and smoother. It is quite moisturising, and I have not noticed any drying out of my skin, so this is a product I would use again.
For the price, I would recommend this for anyone wanting a non abrasive gentle exfoliator.
Thanks for reading.
