Advantages: Instantly refreshes eyes when used in the morning, easy and quick to apply
Disadvantages: Doesn't reduce the appearance of dark circles or bags
I purchased this Garnier eye roll on about 6 weeks ago as I had been after one for a while to try and get rid of dark circles around my eyes and at the time they were on offer for half price in Superdrug. Their was a few to choose from including tinted ones that would act as a concealer too and so came in three different shades of light, medium and dark. However, as this was my first time using one I was not bothered about a tinted one, I simply wanted one just to get rid of puffiness and dark circles and so opted for the normal 'Garnier Caffeine Eye Roll-On'.
Boots state that this: "Garnier Eye Roll-on enriched with caffeine is Garnier's first-ever roll-on to hydrate, cool & refresh tired-looking eyes. Garnier Eye Roll-on is enriched with Caffeine, the roll-on is a handbag must-have, great for on-the-go women. The cooling moisturiser contains Caffeine and Pro-vitamin B5 for a bright eyed look!"
The roll on is very simple to use and just like a roll on deodorant it glides on very easily and quickly, there is no need to have to glide this around your eye lots of times as a lot goes on I find after just 2 applications on each eye. As it does make the skin around your eye wet then I don;t carry this around my bag to apply throughout the day as it would ruin my eye make-up! However, if you tend not to wear make-up on a daily basis then this might be a great thing to carry around with you as it is so small and does instantly make my eyes feel refreshed and more awake after applying.
I have been using this twice a day, firstly on a morning when I wake up which is when I like to use it best as it instantly brightens my tired eyes up, and on a night just before I go to bed when I have taken my make-up off. I have been doing this everyday for the 6 weeks I have had the product but unfortunately I haven't really noticed any improvement on the actual appearance of my eyes, I still seem to have dark circles. It does make them feel refreshed and soft after I have just applied it but that doesn't seem to last and so that is why it would probably benefit those who don't mind applying this throughout the day.
I left this for around 6 weeks before I wrote a review on it in hope that eventually it would improve the appearance of my eyes but I have still had no luck and I think a product like this should have worked by now after using it twice a day everyday!
As I bought this in hope it would make the appearance of my eyes better and get rid of my bags slightly then I am left quite disappointed. I won't be purchasing this one again and will instead try another brand.
This is priced at £9.99 and is available from Boots and Superdrug as well as other stores that sell the popular branded skincare products. I purchased mine for £5 as it was half price from Superdrug, but I wouldn't even consider buying it for that price again as it did not what do what I bought it for.
Summary: Good for a quick refresher around the eyes especially in the morning, but that's about it.
