I always like to look out for a bargain when it comes to toiletries so when I spotted this at a good price in Home Bargains recently, I had to purchase it. The cream comes in a small 50ml pot which is a pale green colour and topped with a white screw top lid. To the front of the pot there is the product brand and description in white and black lettering which I think gives it a nice simple look. When I open the pot, I am greeted with a nice whipped cream looking lotion which has a lovely consistency to it; next of all it smells lovely ? quite fruity in fact. The cream is quite light and glides over my face really easily, I would say that it does seem to take a little while to absorb into my skin and I wouldn''t like to apply my makeup straight away for fear of it just running off. When the cream does absorb, it does leave my skin feeling wonderfully soft to touch and it has a nice look to it too. This is designed for people with normal to combination skin which I would say mine is; its dry in places but my t-zone can sometimes go into overdrive. I would say this works perfectly with my skin type, my dry patches are moisturised yet I don''t end up with a shiny face when I use. The cream does a fantastic job at keeping my face looking hydrated and it also contains UV filters so I know I haven''t got to worry about applying sun lotion when I am out and about however this isn''t so great as disguising those fine lines. Having said that, this doesn''t boast it will, so I can''t really moan about that element. I would say this is also suitable for sensitive skin as since using, I haven''t experienced any problems or flare ups. A 50ml pot retails for around five pounds and is available at most high street chemists and supermarkets. Recently, I have noticed this range in Home Bargains at heavily discounted prices, for example this is currently available at one pound. Whilst I like the cream and the price is excellent, this is great as a day cream but now I am in my thirties, I am looking for something to keep the wrinkles at bay therefore I would recommend, but I won''t repurchase. The cream does get 4 out of 5 stars from me but I would say it is more suited to younger skin. Thanks for reading.
I am a huge fan of the Garnier skincare range partly because of price but also because it seems widely available. I have seen it a lot in Wikinsons recently and picked up this product from there for the price of £3.80 for 50ml. This is great considering I have been looking for a product to replace my Liz Earle obsession - a pot of which is closer to the £15- £20 mark. Although I know Garnier is lower end I was hoping I could rely on it as a more staple every day user.
Packaging is attractive - a clear light green tub with white lid. I'm sure these tubs used to be glass but have been changed to plastic - not sure if this is a cost or environmental issue. In any case the tub comes in a cardboard box which gives you more information about the product. The tub is a good size although as you can see through the plastic it is evident that what you see isnt what you get as the actual container of moisturiser is much smaller than the tub itself. Lid is screw top and seems reliable ie no spillages
Application is easy. As it comes in a tub there's no concern bout wastage and you can get to every bit. On opening the tub you can instantly recognise the garnier smell which is fresh and fruity (although not to overpower). The moisturiser is white but slightly transcluscent and feels really nice in the hands.
Sadly its the results which let this product down. Although the moisturiser absorbs very easily and quickly after a few minutes of application my face feels rather sticky and definitely not hydrated. This causes a bit of a problem when putting make up on. This is unusual as by no means is my skin oily (a blemish every now and then) and the packaging says it is for normal to combination skin. This is a sham as up until now everything about the product was great and I do love Garnier.
I have had my pot of Garnier Skin Naturals Essentials for ages, I brought it from Boots as part of a buy two Garnier skin care items for £5, so I brought the facial wash for £4.99 and then added this to my basket. For the sake of a penny I thought I would give it a go.
The tub is quite small and compact and if I remember rightly it came in a cardboard box which has long since been consigned to the recycling bin. The tub is a pearlescent pea green colour and has a white screw top lid. The packaging is unfussy and only tells me the necessary information, that this is a day cream and that it is hydrating and vitamin enriched and that the tub contains 50ml.
The cream in the tub is a light green colour and smells fresh, soapy and lightly perfumed. The cream feels very light and is easily absorbed leaving my skin feeling moisturised and fresh and happily not at all greasy. I am not sure of the ingredients as the list was on the box I threw away, but if you really want to know I am sure it is available on the internet somewhere.
I don't wear any makeup, ever, so a good moisturiser is all I have to make me look presentable each day and in all honesty I think it does quite well. My forehead can get quite dry, especially in the winter so I like to apply the day cream each morning after cleansing to give my skin some nourishment and form a bit of a barrier against the cold. Unfortunately the day cream does not contain SPF, if it had this in then I feel the day cream would be an excellent everyday facial moisturiser.
I still suffer with the occasional spot at 34 (sigh) and I find this cream does not aggravate my skin in any way. I just pop a couple of spots of cream on my forehead, chin and cheeks and then massage it into my skin with gentle circular motions and I am done for the day. For night moisturising I have been working my way through various free samples I have acquired during the year.
Overall I would say my skin is in good condition, I am still wrinkle free and my skin is soft and moisturised, I have been using the Garnier Skin Essentials every morning for the last year and I am just getting to the end of the pot. The longevity of the cream and compatibility with my skin type does encourage me to purchase this product again and I am glad I picked it up as part of a two for £5 offer.
Thank you for reading.
