Advantages: is cheap, sinks into the skin well

Disadvantages: to me their claims are not true

I brought this item when the shop I went into had sold out of my regular moisturising cream, and I decided to choose this one as it said my skin would feel softer for upto 7 days.
Garnier have made some bold claims with this moisturiser, on the front of the bottle it clearly states "skin feels intensely hydrated for up to 7 days", however the eagle eyed amongst us might have noticed those two little stars after that bold claim, and if you find the small print on the back of the bottle, you'll read that in fact, to achieve this intensely hydrated skin, you should apply this lotion twice daily for 7 days.
The main moisturising ingredients in this body lotion are actually: mineral oil, glycerin, palm oil and cetearyl alcohol (a non-drying form of alcohol). These work nicely together to hydrate, add oils to and protect the skin, however the shea butter is so low down on the ingredients list that it's unlikely to do much, but as I brought it for the shea butter I was pretty annoyed. Also on the list is benzyl alcohol, this is a nasty drying form of alcohol however there is very little of this within the cream
There is a very slight fragrance, however I didn't like it, id of preferred it to ether have a very nice strong smell of the shea butter or no smell at all.
The lotion is quiet runny and thin but it sinks in quiet quickly and doesn't leave you skin feeling sticky.
I didn't find this any different to any other moisturising cream, and I used it as directed on the bottle for over 7 days twice daily, My skin felt soft and hydrated, but once I stopped using it, it didn't last any longer than 24 hours, so their 7 day claim in my opinion is not true and I think I'll definitely stick to my regular cream, but this is good as a back up.

Summary: its a good budget back up cream but not my favourite.
