Garnier Pure A Daily Treatment Moisturiser

I'm a pretty simplistic woman and don't tend to splash out on cosmetics or particularly special treatments. I don't wear makeup and I don't tend to use moisturisers either. Recently however, I began using this moisturiser after my sister decided to use a different brand she'd bought online and gave me the bottle of this she'd bought and never opened.

While I didn't actually purchase this a quick google search tells me it can be bought online for £3.50-5.00. The higher end of this is way too expensive for me to consider and so if I do decide to purchase this product again I will be sure to buy it online. However for a product which is used daily this may be more reasonable for some. I have been using this for a little over 2 weeks now and there is still a fair amount of liquid left in the bottle. The product is therefore relatively long lasting, especially as I do apply a reasonable amount to ensure its optimum effect.

Application is very easy and it sits well on the skin. It feels very light and absorbs easily which is a good thing in my opinion as often the feeling of cream sitting on the skin irritates me and makes me just want to rub the stuff off! Although my skin wasn't exactly softer than usual, I did notice that it felt less oily as the day went on and so this was one god aspect of the product.

I don't tend to suffer from lots of spots of blemishes and so am unable to comment on whether the product is good at remedying these. However, the product is listed as reducing impurities and so provided it is successful in doing so, this is another good reason to purchase. I did however notice a little less redness, particularly on areas where I have dry skin such as around the base of my nose, which means that in a sense the product did indeed remedy some of MY imperfections!

Some of my friends that use the product have commented on the fact that it leaves the skin feeling dry or flakey. I personally haven't experienced this, although like I said I don't really suffer much in that respect. I do think however for a product that is supposed to moisturise this is a pretty note-worthy issue and so perhaps the product isn't entirely great.

The smell wasn't exactly appealing but it wasn't unappealing either. If anything it just smells quite fresh and almost clinical, but its not long lasting and doesn't fragrance the skin. Further, the bottle is 40ml and as mentioned before I do think it lasts reasonably long.

Overall I think this is an ok product and I'm not entirely sure if I would purchase it. If anything it left me feeling simply ambivalent towards it as though it was successful in some respects it also didn't work miracles with my skin and have any obvious lasting effects. From what I've heard of it not doing a great job at tackling blemishes and spots, I do think this is quite a big problem as one of the main uses of the products is as a daily preventative for this. While I did see less greasiness almost immediately, I didn't feel any smoother and so again its not an entirely comprehensive product.

If anything however, I think if you require such a specific product to tackle these issues and the problem is somewhat serious, then I would recommend other products even those of the Garnier line, such as those for acne and spot care. In this way you would then be able to tackle these issues and by using this product simultaneously reduce the effects of such impurities. However, this would require buying this product as well as another more specific one which would be expensive and perhaps more costly than buying a single product that does the job of both. For this I don't think I could give it more than 3/5 stars.

Summary: An ok moisturiser
