I use Garnier products quite a lot and one of their lovely face scrubs I use all the time now is their daily one called Pure Fruit Energy. As you would expect from the name, this is a really fruity facial scrub and you can use it every day, unlike a lot of facial scrubs as it is kind and gentle to the skin and yet it manages to remove a lot of dirt and impurities.
The feel and look and tone of my skin has most definitely improved since I have started to use the product. I buy mine from Boots where it cost just under five pounds. I adore the fragrance of their facial scrub and it is great to use first thing on a morning to waken you up and make you feel fresh and alive.
IT is kind and gentle to my skin and it has improved the tone and I am sure it has also managed to close up some of my larger pores around my nose and forehead area though the tube does not claim to be able to do this.
It's really well worth the money and I very much recommend it.
A scrub and wash - all in one
I tend to have a range of different facial skincare products in the shower at any one time - including a basic face wash and a good rough face scrub! I also like to have something inbetween the two, and this Garnier face scrub fits the bill!
I purchased this while it was on offer. It costs £4.99 in Boots but is currently a third off. ALways look out for offers on these types of product as it's not worth paying full price if you can help it!
The product is designed to unclog and visibly tighten pores, giving skin a radiant natural glow. It contains extracts of grapefruit, pomegranate and Vitamin C.
Zingy and fresh
This face scrub comes in a chunky plastic tube that sits on its lid. You can see that the product inside is a nice, zingy orange colour and has visible little 'bits' in it. When you squeeze this out it has a nice fruity appearance, and a fairly thick gel-like texture. I find that I need very little of this so a tube goes a long way. Applying this to my face, you can feel a very slight, light scrubbing sensation, but overall the product has a bit of a gooey feel, which isn't too unpleasant. It doesn't foam or lather up particularly, but it sits nicely on the skin.
This product also has a very fruity fragrance and I can certainly detect the grapefruit fragrance. As it happens, grapefruit isn't a smell I am always a fan of, but this isn't actually too bad - instead it is quite fresh and zingy, and good for first thing in the morning! It's a really nice smell - fruity and fresh, but without being too strong or sickly.
Wake up call
I do tend to use this in my early morning showers, and it is really nice as the slight scrubby sensation and the nice fruity fragrance does help give me a wake-up call. Also, once the gel is washed away, my skin feels really nice and clean, and also smooth and fresh.
In summary ...
Overall I really like this product. It is well priced and lasts for ages, as I need so little. It feels nice on my skin, and definitely does a good job. I can't really fault this, and it definitely matches up to other similar products I've used. So it's five stars from me.
This face wash comes in a pretty semi transparent orange tube that's decorated with an image of a grapefruit and pomegranate seeds. The bottle is stood on its cap which is good as it avoids wastage and the bottle is easy to use in the shower with wet hands as the flip top lid is large and easy to open. There is quite a lot of product information on the back of the bottle, which is surprisingly easy to read, including "Is the Garnier PureActice Fruit Energy Daily Energising Gel Scrub right for me?", "Why is it different?", "How do I use it", "Our Garnier Skin Naturals Philosophy" and the usual ingredients list. Which I think is a lot more information than you really need to know to be honest but there you go. In short the product is designed for combination/oily skin and contains extracts of grapefruit, pomegranate, additional vitamin C, salicylic acid and exfoliating particles.
The gel itself is for me too runny. Far too much product comes out when you use it. It is a clear gel with a pinkish tinge and you can see the exfoliating particles. You recieve 150ml of product in the bottle.
...My Experience Using it...
When using this product it does have a nice subtle fruity aroma which isn't overpowering and I assume is the grapefruit and pomegranate extracts. The gel, although its hard not to use too much of it, does form a nice gentle lather on your face and you can feel the exfoliating particles gently scrubbing your face and exfoliating without being too abrasive. The product is relatively easy to remove coming off after rinsing with water.
Although the product was lovely to use I expected the actual results to be better. The product didn't have any adverse effects on my skin but after all the hype and promises on the back of the tube I was expecting something of a wonder product. My skin did feel skin and it didn't feel tight and dry, or greasy and oily and it did feel quite soft, supple and cleansed. I wouldn't say however that it made my skin look gradient or brought it back to life or left me invigorated as the product essentially promises to do. I've been using this product for several weeks now and I found my pores seem to be less visible than usual and I have had fewer outbreaks than usual which is a bonus.
...Value For Money...
I brought this product because I'd ran out of my usual product and wanted to buy a slightly more expensive one to allow me to qualify for a "Get 150 points when you spend £15" in boots offer. The product is currently in boots for about £4 but they often have 3 for 2 type offers on there skin care. Although this product isn't overly expensive for a branded face wash I don't think the product is worth the money particularly because in using this product once a day for about 3 weeks I've used about 2 thirds of the bottle and I normally expect face wash of this size (150ml) to last at least 3 months.
