I love this product. This is my second tube right now. I bought it again after I finished my first tube and because I loved the result of it.
One of my PMS symptoms is having spots and sometimes breakouts and it's been going on for years. I hate the fact that every month, I have to deal with big red spot somewhere in my face. I have tried so many spot gel that claimed to be able to reduce the redness in less than 8 hours (some even claimed to do it less than 5 hours), but they didn't work as effective as I want it.
I tried this product since half a year ago, and was very pleased with what it did to my spots. I think in my face it works in two ways. If the spot wasn't to big, it would just make it go away (really don't know how it does it), and if it's already big and ready to break out, it would help it break faster by drying it. I am not sure if it's supposed to be like that or not.
All you need to do is to put small amount of it on the spot before you go to bed on the clean face. Sometimes, I even use it before I go to school because it's clear so it wouldn't leave any funny marks on your face. It smells good too, so it won't make your face smells like medicine.
It comes in a very small tube, but it last very long since you only need so little every application. I won't recommend you to put too much, because I think it would dry your skin (because it dries the spot to make it break faster).
I will definitely recommend this to anyone with spots problems. I have recommended it to my friend and she said it was her life savior.
Garnier Pure - Stylo Anti-Spot Anti-Blemish Pen
What is it?
A mixture for treating blemishes and spots.
Contains an antibacterial ingredient, and active ingredients zinc, eucalyptus and vitamin B3.
What do I think?
I tend to suffer from a lot of spots and most of everything else that I've tried either doesn't work, is too expensive or too harsh - makes the spots worse...
This happened to be on a promotional offer of £1.97 and I popped into my basket hoping for the best to happen when I got home.
This is a runnyish clear liquid from a squeezy bottle, a lot of it actually comes out of it this way, so it's probably better to try to squeeze a little bit onto a cotton bud first and then apply onto the problem area. It doesn't really absorb that well, so would probably benefit from some rubbing in with the fingers, I've tried this, but I also worry that most of it will end up coming off onto my fingers rather than sinking into the blemish, so again, using the cotton bud is probably the best way to apply this.
After a minute or so, the product does start to sting, particularly the area that I've just applied the gel to. This stinging for me lasts about 10 minutes, and during that time, it's almost unbearable to the point that I really want to scratch it or to remove it with a cotton pad. If you do last after the itching/stinging period, the gel is best to be left on overnight so that it gets to work to dry out the spot.
I find that this works for small spot and blemish problems, but if you get spots that are almost like boils, this isn't really going to do much for it apart from stinging like hell.
I have only ever used this once or twice for emergencies, but the stinging and itchiness is simple too much so that I don't ever really use it anymore. Normally, it costs about £3.99 which is reasonable, but I think there's something in the ingredients that makes it bad for those who have sensitive skin, because I've used other things and except for the time when the product had salicylic acid in, everything else I've never really had a reaction like this, plus, this doesn't even have salicylic acid in, so I' don't know...
Please use with caution, and only try if you're really desperate...
Thanks for reading.
I just bought this product today and its worked wonders i put it on my spots an hour ago and they have dramatically decreased in size ! ...I recomend this to anyone who needs to get rid of spots quickly and easily 1! Very Impressed :) x
Luckily I have managed to get through most of my adult life without any major skin problems. The odd small spot here and there, a bit of dryness on my cheeks but no major acne or big noticeable blemishes. Until one horrid day, known from here on out as 'Spotgate'. I woke up, went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and looked up to find that Mount Etna had found its way onto my chin, not on the side of my chin but smack bang in the middle of it. I panicked. I didn't have anything at home to take care of this monstrosity. Savlon was not going to do the job this time. I wondered if I could stay at home until this went away by itself, well it would only be a couple of years. The rational side of my brain came back to life, I would need to deal with this head on or the spot would win.
I made my way to the local Boots, goodness knows how much YSL Touche Eclat I got through that day and got to the skincare isle. Who knew that there were so many lotions and potions available to combat spots?
The first thing that caught my eye was the "SOS" on the bright blue packaging, I would have preferred if I could have ordered it from home in Morse code but Boots don't employ professional code-breakers at the moment. I'd never used Garnier products before but the promise of a fast-acting spot treatment was enough for me. I went to the counter and paid the £5 for it, jumped in the car James Bond style and drove home as fast as I could whilst not going over the speed limit. Well, it was only a spot remember?!
Once at home, I took a closer look at the packaging in all its shiny blue glory. The "pen" comes in a 10ml long thin tube with the kind of slanted application end they have on the Juicy Tube lip glosses. The instructions say to apply the solution directly to the affected area every few hours in order to reduce redness and clear your skin up quickly. The active ingredients in this product are Zinc and Clay which both act to dry out the spot, Eucalyptus which acts as an antiseptic and Salicylic acid which is a natural extract used to remove top layer skin cells. I applied the tube directly to the spot as instructed and waited to see if this would bring the promised results.
The consistency of the product is lovely. It comes out of the tube as a clear gel and dissolves very quickly into the area it has been applied to without the need to rub the product in which is always a benefit if it means not having to touch an icky spot. It smells quite pleasant too, slightly chemically but mainly of Eucalyptus.
I applied the product four or five times that day and by the time I went to bed most of the swelling and redness had disappeared completely, after two days it was impossible to see that there had been a spot there at all. I had won. Take that spot!
This is 100% the best product I have ever discovered and will never use anything else to treat a spot again. It works quickly and effectively without any horrible skin irritation that can sometimes be caused by this type of product. It's suitable for sensitive skin and lasts for ages due to the tiny amount you have to apply each time you use it. I would recommend that anyone with any size of spot goes out and buys this product immediately. Viva la spot revolution!
