I am aware of the importance of properly removing my make up, and as I wear a lot of it then this is even more important. As I have sensitive and spot prone skin I have to be quite selective in the products that I use. When I ran out of my most recent cleanser, I went to the shops to buy another one and came back with the Simply Essentials Soothing Cleansing Lotion by Garnier. What does the product do? The product promises to 'perfectly' remove make up and cleanse the skin while also soothing the skin with Water-Lilly Extract. It is great for sensitive skin as it doesn't contain any colouring, alcohol or perfume. How do you use the product? You need to get a cotton pad or a piece of tissue paper and apply a small amount of the product to it. You then smooth the cotton pad over the face to remove the make up. You continue this process until the pad comes away clean. You can also use the product in reverse by smoothing the cream onto the skin and wiping it back off with a cotton pad or tissue paper. Packaging and Price The product comes contained within a duckegg blue bottle which has some green and white patterning on the front and some extra information about the product on the back. It has a white flip top lid so you easily open and close the product, even if your hands are slippery. The product will cost you around £3 for 200ml of the cream and it can be bought from stores such as Boots and Superdrugs, large supermarkets and a variety of online websites. Application and Performance The product has no aroma to it at all which isn't too suprising as the bottle tells you that the product comes perfume free. It is white in colour and it has quite a thick consistency which is really creamy. The product feels lovely and cool on the skin. It hasn't caused me any irritations or discomforts whatever and it is just as gentle as was promised. It hasn't caused me to develop any blemishes either which is brilliant in my opinon as it doesn't take much for me to develop spots. The product doesn't sting when it is used on the eye area and it has never caused me any discomfort, even when it being applied directly onto the lashes. It is silky smooth and it allows the cotton pad to glide over my skin without pulling or dragging the delicate area. It is really effective at removing my make up and I use it mainly on the eye area to remove my make up. It manages to remove every last bit with minimal effort and it works really quickly even in comparrison which my Mac Oil Make up Remover which I have previously owned. It leaves the skin feeling moisturised, soft and in a good condition. It definitely isn't harsh or drying and it doesn't leave my skin feeling tight. Conclusion All in all, this is a really effective make up remover which is perfect for those with sensitve and spot prone skin. Even though it is gentle, it still manages to remove even my water proof make up quickly and easily. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product again.
