A while back, I purchased several items from the well-known Garnier brand of skincare items online at www.amazon.co.uk, with this review outlining my experiences of trying the "Garnier Simply Essentials Facial Cleansing Wipes."
I bought a couple of these packs of wipes, and paid in the region of £1.90 per pack which I felt was a reasonable price as each pack contains 25 wipes within.
The packaging is fairly standard for a product like this one, comprising of a square-shaped package made of plastic. There is a sticky 'label' closure seal on front of the pack. I have been impressed with how sturdy the seal closure is; the seal remains stuck down firmly between uses.
The wipes themselves are white in colour, and have a square-ish shape. I find that their material is rather soft which I like. I like too, how one side of the wipes has a textured surface, although I do have to stress that this is not at all abrasive or 'rough' in its texture; the whole wipe feels lovely and soft.
I do have to say that the Garnier Wipes are slightly smaller than some of the other brands that I've been using recently, but I couldn't say that they felt too small for their purpose, and I don't recall ever having to use more than one wipe to achieve good results. The wipes are without any scent or fragrance, and are completely free from alcohol so they feel gentle.
In fact, these particular wipes have been formulated "Especially for sensitive skin" according to the front of the pack which is ideal for me.
To use the wipes, I simply need to remove one from the pack and then gently 'sweep' the wipe across the face and eyes which will remove make-up easily. I do find that the Garnier Facial Cleansing Wipes are 'wet' enough to remove make-up without much effort being required, but I like how they are not so moist that they feel uncomfortable on my face. Make-up is removed effortlessly, without me having to 'scrub' at the delicate eye area.
I do find that make-up is removed effortlessly, but I find too that the Garnier Wipes work well when no make-up is being worn too. On these occasions, I find that the wipes work well at refreshing my skin and removing any residue that may be lurking. I particularly like how these wipes have one textured side as this feels like it is cleansing my face thoroughly on these occasions. Skin is left feeling thoroughly refreshed, without any 'tackiness' being left behind on the skin afterwards.
There is a notable 'fuss-free' method to using these wipes, and they have slotted into my everyday skincare routine without fuss or hassle.
A final valid point to note, I think, is the fact that my sensitive skin has never suffered any irritation or aggravation from the product and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them for those consumers who suffer with sensitive skin.
I always uses facial wipes to remove my make up and am not loyal to any one particular make and I will buy whichever ones are on special offer at the time. I last bought these Garnier Simply Essentials wipes from Home Bargains for £1.50 which is a very good price as they are currently £2.50 at Tesco and £3.25 at Boots. The come in a blue soft plastic packet with the Garnier logo and gives you the list of ingredients and instructions for use. There is a seal which you lift up to remove the wipes and which you press down to reseal to keep the wipes moist. I have never had any issues with the seal sticking back down again after use. The wipes are easily pulled out one at a time and I have not experienced several coming out at once. The wipes are white and square and feel quite moist to the touch without being too wet. They smell fresh and clean but not of anything particular.
I will always start off cleansing my forehead first, then move down to the rest of my face using a light outward sweeping motion. I will then finish off with my eyes as this is where the most make up is to be removed and although I don't rub them hard I will use a bit more pressure around my upper and lower lashes until all traces of my mascara has gone. The wipes feel cool and fresh and they leave my skin feeling very clean and refreshed afterwards and are not greasy as are some other wipes I have used. I will apply a moisturiser when I have finished which finishes my cleansing routine off and my skin does feel soft and smooth.
These wipes contain Pro-Vitamin B and plant extracts and are suitable for sensitive skin as they don't contain any perfumes or colours. I can say that they have never caused me any irritation or redness and my skin is slightly sensitive. I have not had cause to use more than one wipe so a pack of 25 will last me for over a month as I also I occasionally do use a lotion cleanser and cotton wool.
These wipes are good quality and they work well for me. I don't think that I would pay £3.25 for them as I wouldn't pay this for any facial wipes but for £1.50 I will buy them again. They remove all my make up quickly and easily and leave my face feeling soft and clean.

The product I am reviewing is Garnier Facial Wipes which are from the Simply Essentials range. These wipes help to remove make-up and also soothes the skin. If your skin is easily irritated by cleansing and make-up removal and is often very sensitive then these wipes which contain cleansing water, enriched with soothing plant extract and Pro-Vitamin B are perfect for you, as they help to remove make up from the eye, face, lips and neck. The soft cloth feels soothing and is specifically adapted to suit even sensitive skin. The wipes are fresh and easy to use, are non-sticky and also non-greasy. This means that your skin is left perfectly cleansed, comfortable and clear of make-up. The wipes come in light blue plastic packaging which is a square shape and you can clearly see that this is Garnier due to the logo on the front of the packet; it also states that these are suitable for sensitive skin and that they remove even waterproof mascara. The clear plastic seal on the wipes peels back to reveal a small oval hole in which you can easily pull a wipe out and then re-seal to stop them drying out. I normally use Simple Facial Wipes as I do have sensitive skin; how-ever I thought I would try out a different product for a change. These have no added perfume or colours so they sounded just as gentle as the Simple wipes that I use. These were also slightly cheaper to buy as well which also persuaded me to purchase them as well.

I purchased a pack of 25 wipes from my local Boots store for £2.17. These are currently reduced in price and are normally priced at £3.25 per pack. You can also purchase these in Superdrug as well, how-ever priced may vary.

Using the Wipes

On this particular day that I first used the wipes I actually had a full face of make up so this would be the perfect test to see if the wipes did remove all traces of my make up. I always use cleanser and toner after using a facial wipe anyway, how-ever I normally tell by looking at the cotton wool after how good a job the facial wipe has done at removing the make up and other dirt. I peeled back the clear wrapper and pulled a wipe out which was easy to do. The wipe felt cool when taking it out and also feel slightly damp as well. I sealed the pack again to avoid the other wipes from drying out. I gently used the wipe on my face to remove the foundation/bronzer I had on and when looking at the wipe I could see how much it removed. The wipe felt soft and gentle against my face and it didn't feel scratchy. I continued to use the wipe over the eye area. I did rub my eyes slightly harder than I was my face when removing the make up as I wanted to ensure that all the mascara came off. I wasn't actually wearing waterproof mascara so I thought it would be quite easy to remove. After doing this and seeing the black on the wipe I thought I had better use another one so I threw this one away and took another from the pack, ensuring I had re-sealed it again afterwards. I used the new wipe over my face again and over the eye area and the neck to ensure all the make up had been removed. I did actually manage to remove some more of the mascara from my eyes with the 2nd wipe. Despite rubbing my eyes slightly harder to get the mascara off this didn't irritate my eyes or make them feel sore. In fact I didn't even really have to rub at them too hard. There is no scent to the wipes which I prefer when using facial wipes and other products. Although they tell you, you don't need to rinse your facer after using the wipe I always used cleanser and toner afterwards anyway. My face how-ever did already feel very clean and also cool from the slightly damp wipes. It was actually quite refreshing to use the wipes. I used my cleanser and toner as normal and was surprised to see that there appeared to be less make up/dirt on the cotton wool after using these wipes than there is when I use the Simple Facial Wipes. After finishing my facial routine I then applied some moisturiser.

I have sensitive skin so I do have to be careful with what products I use on my face as some products can dry my skin out or cause some irritations or break outs. As this product is specifically for sensitive skin, I thought it would be perfect to help remove my make-up without causing any irritation or reactions. The wipes were easy to remove from the pack and they felt extremely soft and smooth against my face. As the wipes are cool due to them being slightly damp I did find them very refreshing and they cooled my face down. I felt as though the wipes did a really good job at removing the make up on my face including the mascara, despite having to use 2 wipes in total. If I use the wipes during the week when I wear less make-up I only ever need to use one wipe as this is enough to remove my eye make-up and remove any dirt that might be on my face. In terms of value I think the wipes are very reasonable as they around the price I would expect to pay for cleansing wipes. The first few wipes in the pack weren't as damp as the other when getting further into the pack which may have been why I had to use 2 wipes when using them for the first time. Since using the wipes my skin hasn't had any break-outs (I don't get them much anyway), and I haven't suffered from any reactions such as dry skin anywhere on my face. I would purchased these again as I think they are a brilliant product and are great at helping to remove all traces of make up.

Facial cleansing wipes are one of the best skin care products around in my opinion. They're practical, time-saving, and easy to use. I always have a couple of packs at home ready for taking off heavy make-up or a quick cleanse before bed time. I'm not particularly loyal to any one skin care brand so I like to try whatever's on offer. I picked up these Garnier Simply Essentials Facial Cleansing Wipes from Tesco at a reduced price.
Product description: "Garnier Simply Essentials Facial Cleansing Wipes contain cleansing water, enriched with soothing plant extract and pro-vitamin B5 to perfectly remove make-up from eyes, lips, face and neck. The soft cloth feels soothing and is specially adapted to suit even sensitive skin. Fresh and easy to use, they are non-sticky and non-greasy. Recommended directions for use: Remove a wipe from the pack. Cleanse and remove make-up gently from your face, eye area and neck. No need to rinse.
Facial cleansing wipes are great for when I'm short on time or can't be bothered with a full on cleanse / tone / moisturise routine. These are specifically targeted at sensitive skin. The wipes have no perfume, no alcohol and no colourants as well as being dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested. My skin type is starting to balance out a little now I've moved away from my blemish prone problem skin years, and I would class my skin as combination, with occasional sensitive tendencies.
The packaging is very standard for most facial wipes. They come in a plastic wrapper with a peel-back label on the top which you can then re-seal after use. Each pack contains 25 wipes, and even though I may only use a couple of wipes per week, the packaging helped them to remain moist and stay useable right to the end of the packet.
The wipes themselves are a basic white coloured cloth that have a very moist feel, and there did not seem to be any noticeable fragrance. The fabric of the wipes is thick and durable but soft at the same time, and they seemed to be more wet than other facial wipes I've used before, maybe to help lessen any irritation on sensitive skin.
To use these cleansing wipes I simply rub over my face in the same way that I would wash with a flannel. As they are already wet you can use them without water and this makes the whole process very speedy and mess free. I rub the wipe over my face, starting from the chin and working upwards so as not to pull the skin down. They remove make-up quickly and easily, but even though they do fully wipe away my make-up, they don't seem to properly cleanse my skin. After I have finished using these wipes my skin is left with a sticky feeling and is tacky to the touch. This is quite unpleasant and makes me feel like I need to wash my face to get my skin fully cleaned. I usually apply a generous amount of toning lotion afterwards to get rid of the residue feeling, but it does put me off that the wipes are not a one-step cleansing solution. I believe that they are suitable for sensitive skin as they work effectively without being harsh and they are even gentle when removing eye make-up.
These wipes are good enough for removing make-up, but it seems a bit pointless to use a facial cleansing wipe that doesn't make my skin feel clean. I wouldn't bother using them again as the sticky feeling is very off-putting and I prefer other wipes I've used in the past which leave my skin feeling refreshed and clean to the touch.
Gently eliminates make-up, with no need for rubbing / Their texture, infused with cleansing lotion, gently respects sensitive skin / Dermatologically tested, does not contain colourings or alcohol.
