Garnier Soft Essentials Replenishing Day Care Cream

Advantages: Quickly absorbed and skin feels soft

Disadvantages: None for me

As soon as the cooler weather comes my skin takes a rapid decline going from normal to dry. Therefore, I do have to change the products I use which are more suited to dry skin sufferers in a bid to keep it at bay and try and keep my skin looking as healthy as possible. There are of course a number of products on the market that claim to help dry skin but not a lot actually work I have found.

One brand I quite like is Garnier. I have used a few of their skincare products over the years and have been quite happy with the results. A few months back in Morrisons they had a massive price reduction across Garnier so I stocked up ready for the colder months and one of those items I bought was the Garnier Soft Essentials Replenishing Day Care moisturising cream.

== The Cream ==

The Garnier Soft Essentials Replenishing Day Care moisturising cream is part of the 'Soft Essentials' range and this range has been specifically created to soothe the skin whilst protecting and moisturising it as well as being incredibly gentle and therefore ideal for those who suffer with sensitive and dry skin. The Day Care cream is a day cream and suitable after the cleansing and toning process.

== Packaging ==

The cream itself comes in a small square cardboard box which features the Garnier logo all with a soft pink theme (the Soft Essentials range's packaging is pink coloured). The cream comes in a small pink glass jar with a white screw on plastic top. There is information about the product and how to use it is on the box as well as a list of the ingredients used and contact information for Garnier.

== In Use ==

The cream itself is a lovely white cream which has is incredibly soft and velvety to the touch. It has quite a decent consistency, thick enough for you to hold the jar upside down and for the cream to stay in place yet soft and delicate enough to apply directly from the jar to your face. I always apply this cream after I have toned and cleansed in the morning and at night after the same routine.

I love the fragrance of this cream, even though it is suited for those with sensitive skin it doesn't have a highly perfumed aroma but it does have a lovely soft, mild floral aroma which is really lovely and does stay on the skin for quite some time after applying the cream.

The cream is incredibly lightweight and when applied directly onto my skin it really does melt upon contact and absorbs almost easily. It really doesn't take much for it sink into the skin which is great. You only need to use a small amount each time you apply as I think by using too much I don't think it would absorb as easily either that or it would leave a residue behind which is not something you really want.

I do find that although this cream absorbs easily and quickly into the skin you can still feel the cream on your face hours later (if you haven't applied make up) and although it isn't sticky residue type feeling it does instead feel incredibly soft but it is nice to feel that the cream is still there and must be doing something rather than just absorbing and doing nothing. It is classed as a lightweight cream and it definitely is. There is nothing heavy or clogging about it whatsoever.

I have been using this cream for about a month now as I noticed a few dry patches appearing slightly and wanted to nip them in the bud. This cream has not only helped keep the dryness at bay but it has also helped my skin to look healthy rather than a bit dull as it can do sometimes in the winter but instead my skin looks healthy, soft and nourished which is of course the result I was wanting. Even better, because you only use a small amount per application one jar will actually last for quite some time.

== Overall ==

This is a great day cream which absorbs easily and quickly into the skin and you can definitely see a difference in the skin. The cream certainly cares for my skin, it is ideal for those with sensitive skin as it doesn't irritate; instead it soothes and protects and leaves a lovely subtle floral fragrance too so even better. For me, this cream was a bargain buy but I would definitely be happy to pay full price for this lightweight little beauty.
