This may seem like a bit of a strange treat but I treated myself to this when I had some extra money! I am trying my best to take care of my body now that I am not as young as I used to be! I know that a lot of the products on the market are probably aimed at gulliable people like me who think that potions can turn back the clock but I am willing to give them a go and see whether they actually have any effect on me whatsoever!
I chose this one because I have seen it advertised and it was middle of the range in terms of price so I thought it would be a good option to go for. The tub is quite small but this doesn't mean that it will run out quickly as the cream inside is very dense. It is a round, squat pot with a white lid and a red glass pot. It has the Garnier logo on the front so there's no escaping what brand this is!
The lid unscrews with a few turns making it easy to open and close even if your fingers are slightly greasy from using the cream. When you use the cream you do not need to use very much which is why this product lasts a long time despite the tub being quite small. I use about a pea sized amount and massage it into my face in circular motions. I try to apply slightly more in the dry areas of my face such as my forehead and around the eyes as this is where the wrinkles seem to be gathering!
When putting this on I notice that it doesn't just disappear into the skin right away, instead it sits on top for a while which would be quite annoying in a day cream as I would have to wait a while before applying any make up but in a night cream it is fine. The fact it is on the skin for longer I think is a good thing, it makes me think that it is actually doing something instead of just disappearing.
The smell is quite fragrant, rather floral and a little pungent which again I think I would find annoying in a day cream but using it at night isn't a problem as it doesn't mean I will walk around smelling of flowers and having people walk past me giving me dodgy looks!
By morning time my skin doesn't feel any different, the cream has completely absorbed and the smell has gone.
Well I think the important question is does this work? I have been using it for a month now and I think that it has helped the appearance of my wrinkles but I can't say for sure if it has reduced them or stopped any more forming, I think only time will tell and that is something I will have to wait and see. As far as I am concerned though it does look as though my wrinkles aren't quite as deep and I think it has something to do with carrying out a good skin care regime instead of just doing nothing and hoping for the best!
I think that as a night cream this is a very good product as it does stay on the skin for a while which makes me think that it is busy working away as I sleep. I think if it was a day cream I wouldn't be very pleased with it sitting on top of my skin as it would get in the way of putting on make up and it would also have the smell linger. The smell isn't repulsive at all but it is rather floral which isn't something I like to go round smelling of particularly!
I like how the tub is only small as my collection of facial creams and things is beginning to grow so this little tub fits into the cupboard without any problems and can easily be put in a sponge kit bag to take away with me. The size of the tub doesn't mean that it will run out quickly though like you may expect, this cream is quite dense, a similar density to body butters- although not quite as thick as this which means that you don't need to use much at all.
It is supposed to be used at night time only as it contains certain ingredients which work with your body at this time of day. You can buy a day cream in this series too but I haven't got this or tried it. I think I tend to stick to night creams because I am better at carrying out my 'beauty' regime at night time than I am during the day when I'm likely to forget to do it! I would be interested in trying the day cream to see if that helps too but I would have to check what it smelt like first as I think the smell would put me off it was the same as this.
I am quite impressed with this. I don't think it will turn back the clock but I like to think that it may hold up the aging process a little and i do think that it has reduced the appearance of the wrinkles that I have already got so I think it is doing it's job properly. I have given it 4 stars as I think the smell is a little too strong and this could be quite off putting for some people. You can buy this from supermarkets and chemists so it is easy to get hold of.
At 22 it seems insane that I need to use an anti wrinkle cream - well unfortunately I do. I am a very expressive person face wise so about 6 months ago I bought my first 'cream'. So here is what I thought.
This is a little different than shown on the picture here the tub is rounded and the lid is read, there is still the white writing on the front though with the Garnier logo. The plastic os translucent so the white cream is only partially obscured. I have taken this on holiday with me as couple of times and this packaging is very hardy and did not get damaged in the least.
The lid is also a screw top.
This reminds me very much of talcum powder, but active. This is very hard to describe I like the smell as it wakes me up in the morning and I can smell it faintly for the rest of the day.
This cream is of a medium thickness and is very easy to apply to the skin. I put this one before my primer in the morning , not only is this a great moisturiser it also creates a good base for makeup. This makes my skin so much softer and I always rub the excess into my hands giving them a bit of softness too.
This is always a little on the cooler side aswell.
One of my bigger worries in that past with skin creams is that they can make me break out but I wear this almost everyday and have never had that problem with this.
Does it work?
Well,yes. I am not wrinkle free on my forehead, but now my makeup covers it much better and they are a lot less obvious than before. As I get older I may need something much more heavy duty but for now this works perfectly fine.
I am aware of many women in their forties who think this is a great product too.
Price and Availability
I buy mine at Tesco for £5.99 normally as a larger store not too far away always has it on sale but I understand it normally goes for about £8 . This can be bought at all good supermarkets and chemists alongside a whole host of online retailers. This price is great value for the product and one lasts me about 6 weeks before I need to replace it.
This is something I will continue to buy again and again and I may consider the night cream now too!
Garnier Ultra Lift Day - a lovely little buy.
The Tub: This product comes in glass or plastic from your average Boots store. It comes in a 50ml tub and tends to last me just over a month. You only need a small amount so its good value for money.
The Price: The great thing about this little baby is that generally they are on offer at Boots, so you can get your day cream and your night cream in one fell swoop. They are approx £10 each, or the offer seems to be a steel at for for £12! Cannot go wrong. You can buy this with or without SPF15 (sun protection factor) so if you are very fair skinned you get that added layer of protection whilst it hydrates.
Does it Work: I think so, i have been a convert now for about three years. If, like me, you have sensative skin its ideal really. Its natural and kind enough not to be packed with unnecessary, five syllable chemicals that we have no idea about. It is not perfumed so you don't feel like you are eating flowers once you apply it. It leaves your skin smooth and moisturised, not greasy or oily. Because it absorbs so quickly you don't have to worry about letting in soak in if you are in a rush in the mornings. I get that hair line wrinkle between my eye brows and this cream really does 'fill it' so that my foundation doesn't sit in and show up my imperfections.
The Application: Pea size amount rubbed in - directly from finger tips to face. It glides on smoothly and absorbs very quickly. If your face is a bit dry you can apply a thicker layer and not rub in, but just let it soak in whilst you are doing other things, then smooth over when you come to apply your make-up, works like a charm. The beauty of using this underneath your make up is that it creates a veneer for which the make up to sit, so it goes on with a much more even finish. And no matter how delicate your make up is, i still think its a good idea to create a barrier between your face and any kind of cosmetics. this cream is just the ticket.
Drawbacks: The only thing I can say is that - and i believe this is true of all moisturisers - because your skin gets so used to this being applied on a daily basis, if you do not apply your skin can feel tight as it has forgotten how to produce your natural oils that your skin needs to stop it becoming dry and flaky. So if you start using this product it does have to be a commitment in my book.
I have followed a strict beauty regime ever since I was a teenager with my twice daily facial skin care being to cleanse, tone and moisturise. As my skin continues to age it has been necessary to change my products accordingly and as a result, I'm always keen on trying something new. A few months ago I was delighted to receive the opportunity to take part in Garnier's Ultralift Challenge, which promised noticeable results in fourteen days. Consequently, I was provided with a pack of fourteen 1.5 ml sachets of their Anti-Wrinkle Firming Cream, which were accompanied with a "Wrinkle Reader". Whilst I would not normally consider assessing and reviewing this type of product within such a short period of using, Garnier are so confident of the speedy results and as a consequence, have made the fourteen days challenge available to thousands of consumers and this review discusses my thoughts.
My first task was to match my wrinkles (or fine lines as I prefer to call them!), which are mainly situated around my eyes, with one of the ten images contained on the paper wrinkle reader with grade one being the finest and ten being the deepest. Thankfully, the closest resemblance for me was between grade one and two, so I duly recorded the results together with the date. In order to fully meet the terms of the challenge, Garnier specified that the cream be used in place of any normal wrinkle cream and that it should be applied daily to the face, neck and crow's feet. They further state that the cream has been enriched with pro-retinol, which has been derived from nature and it is claimed that using the cream will reduce the appearance of wrinkles and the skin will feel firmer.
The pearly white cream, which is designed for day wear, offered a good consistency and gave me the impression of high quality and luxury with its favourable delicate aroma and I was pleasantly surprised at how little I needed where it was easily spread and applied to my skin. It fully absorbed into my face and neck within just a minute or so following application without leaving any stickiness or greasy residue and my skin felt light with a wonderfully soft and smooth texture. I suffer with T-zone skin where my forehead and nose are oily with my cheeks often being rather dry. Whilst the cream isn't designed for any specific skin type I cannot report of my skin being any dryer or oilier than normal, so the product is clearly suitable for all.
I continued to use the remaining sachets on a daily basis over the fourteen day period; during which time I was rather naughty and applied for a further supply of sachets in my husband's name, so I had enough for twenty eight days in total. I enjoyed taking part in Garnier's challenge and can report that the fine lines situated around my eyes were slightly reduced where I scored a grade one. In addition, the cream was effective at moisturising my skin and offered a healthy glowing appearance although I would argue with the claim that the skin will appear firmer within fourteen days. Once I had finished used my twenty eight sachets I noticed a visible difference to the skin on my neck, which appeared a little smoother and slightly less saggy although I cannot admit to having too much sag to start with!
I was interested to learn of the benefits of two of the main ingredients, namely pro-retinal and ginger extract and through my research I discovered that pro-retinal contains natural or synthetic vitamin A, which is known for its effective properties in treating skin conditions. Furthermore, it promotes cells to naturally reproduce and it is claimed that it is highly effective at reducing wrinkles and slowing day the signs of ageing. Sounds pretty good! I discovered that ginger extract is an ingredient found in many beauty products and it is known for its highly moisturising properties although I must admit that I had not come across it before.
As previously stated, I would not normally consider evaluating a face cream after such a short period of use, as I'm of the opinion that they generally take a couple of months to show noticeable results. However, Garnier's bold claim promised visible results in just fourteen days and I was pretty impressed although I'd be interested to learn how the cream works for those with more deep set lines and wrinkles. I'm not sure that I would make a purchase of the full size 50 ml tub, which retails at around £9.99, particularly as there are so many other creams available that offer similar results and I tend to alternate with whatever is on offer at any given time. However, if I could obtain this product at a reduced price, then I would definitely make a purchase.
In respect of rating this product, I believe it to be worthy of 5 stars together with my recommendation, as it delivered exactly what it promised. If you're interested, Garnier are still running their challenge and all you need to do is go to their website and input a few details and try it out for yourself.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
About six weeks ago I realised I had run out of day cream, an essential item for me which I try to use every morning and often at night if I don't have a specific night cream. I was at my parent's house checking out my mother's lovely selection of creams when she said I could have her Garnier Ultra Lift Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream which she had barely used due to have far too many creams for one person! I gladly accepted and have been using it daily since then.
- The Packaging -
The box for this cream is white with a photo of the red pot that contains the cream. It states that you will see and feel the results in two weeks. As I didn't purchase this myself I just have the pot, but from looking at the box online I can see that it has the usual style of Garnier products. It is very simple and informative. The pot is red, not a colour I would necessarily associate with skin care, but this is the colour for all of the products in the Garnier Ultra Lift Anti-Wrinkle range so it makes them all really identifiable. The pot itself is made from clear glass but with a layer of transparent red plastic over the top. The lid is made from red plastic and screws on and off easily. On the side of the pot there are sticky labels which display the brand name, name of the product and some brief information about the product. The overall look is simple but appealing. I don't think the pot looks too cheap which is good and it is also handy as you can get every last drop of cream out easily.
- Applying the Cream -
I have been applying this cream to my face and neck daily after my bath or shower in the morning. The cream is white in colour and a medium consistency, not runny but not too thick either. It has a pleasant smell which is quite fresh but does smell quite artificial to me. It is very easy to rub into my skin, it sinks in quite quickly and doesn't feel at all heavy or greasy. I would be happy to apply my make up a couple of minutes after applying the cream. My skin instantly feels moisturised, smooth and refreshed.
- The Results -
After applying this in the morning my skin will still feel smooth and moisturised in the evening. After using it for six weeks I would say it has definitely had a positive effect on my skin making my complexion more soft, firm, even and generally healthier looking. According to the product information on the Boots website the cream is designed to "reduce the appearance of wrinkles and leave skin feeling smoother and firmer". As I am only 24 and don't yet have any winkles I can't really comment on the anti-wrinkle effects but I would say that my skin does feel smoother and firmer so the signs are good that it would have an effect on wrinkles. I don't think I am too young to start using anti-aging products as hopefully it will help delay the signs of aging. Sun damage can age and damage the skin so this cream also has SPF 15 which will help protect against this. For me this is a lovely day cream and any anti aging effects are a bonus.
- Price and Availability -
The standard price for the 50ml pot is around £10. It is available from Boots and most large supermarkets. At the moment Boots have an offer of any two products from the Garnier Ultra Lift Anti-Wrinkle range for £12. I would say although I might pay £10 for this product I would probably choose to wait until I saw an offer such as the Boots one and stock up then as it is definitely a good deal.
- Would I Recommend? -
I would definitely recommend this day cream. The packaging is nice and comes in a handy pot, the cream is pleasant and easy to apply and most importantly the results are good. With all this at a reasonable price you can't go wrong!
The UltraLift range of face products by Garnier has been developed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and deep wrinkles and to leave your skin feeling both smoother and firmer. By using natural ingredients, the range promises to give you visible results within an hour of application.
The range is specifically targeted towards women over 40 and Davina Mccall is the spokesperson for the products. Although I am only 27, I saw the UltraLift Anti Wrinkle Firming Day Cream on a half price offer and thought, why wait until I have developed wrinkles before purchasing it?
What does the product do?
The product is effectively a facial moisturiser with a special twist and the cream is designed to produce all of the results that I have listed above. From the very first application, the product promises to reduce the appearance of fine lines and deep wrinkles and to leave the skin looking smoother and more youthful.
It also promises to give the skin a deep hydration which allows the skin to maintain its elasticity and prevents new wrinkles from forming. As the product also has SPF 15 within it, it also protects your skin from the sun and all the nasty side effects that it can be bring.
How does the product work?
The secret ingredient within this cream is Pro-Retinol and this ingredient is commonly found in anti aging product. As it is an antioxidant, the substance removes free radicals from the skin which prevents any premature aging of the skin. The ingredient also helps to stimulate the synthesis of collagen which means the skin will become plumper and wrinkles and fines lines will be filled out. The substance also smoothes out the skin leaving it looking more firm and more youthful, as well as strengthening the skin.
The product also contains Glycerin which is a humectant. The substance draws moisture deeply into the skin and allows the skin to hold onto it which means it will remain hydrated all day. The product also contains Beeswax which forms an invisible barrier across the skin, giving it added protection from pollutants and also preventing moisture from being lost.
When skin is hydrated, it is fair less likely to develop wrinkles. For this reason, also included is some natural oils to moisturise the skin deeply and Ginger extract to tone the skin. It also contains protein in order to strengthen the skin and to allow skin cells to develop in a healthy way.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be smoothed gently onto clean, dry skin in the mornings in the place of your normal moisturiser. You scoop a small amount from the pot and massage the cream into the face and neck until it has been fully absorbed and then you can carry on with your beauty routine in the usual way. Technically, you could apply this product at night time too although a night time version is also available which I assume is richer than this one. It is suitable for daily use.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a heavy red glass jar. The packaging makes the product look expensive but it makes it a pain for travelling with because of its weight. There is some information about the product around the jar and when you tip the jar upside down, you can see the product inside. The jar has a white screw top lid and the product is easily accessible when the lid is removed, even when you only have a teeny tiny bit left.
The product costs around £10 and for that money you get 50ml of the cream which is a fairly small amount. It can be bought from most large department stores including Boots, some large supermarkets and from many online websites. I found mine for £5 so if you shop around, you might find it on offer too.
This product has been tested on 50 women, which is a fairly low number, but most women saw good results within a month of continuous use. Within one hour, you should be able to see some results, after one week wrinkles and fine lines should be even smoother and within one month wrinkles should be dramatically decreased in appearance and your skin should be firmer. I only have a few fine laughter lines so that is all I could test this theory on.
The product has a really thick consistency and is incredibly rich compared with most day creams that I have used. It has a creamy white colour and the product smells very clean and fresh. It doesn't smell of anything in particular but it definitely has a refreshing aroma when you remove the lid. The scent doesn't last once on the skin.
As soon as I saw the cream, I knew it would be my skin's worst nightmare. It has been designed to work on skin that is older than mine and as I also suffer from oily skin, I knew it would cause blemishes and make me shinier than a star and I was right. That isn't the fault of the cream however, rather just my own fault for buying an unsuitable product for my skin just because it was on offer. To combat this, I began to apply the cream solely to my laughter lines and eye area.
The cream is absorbed almost immediately by the skin and it leaves a slight sheen behind itself. It is rich and extremely hydrating and the area to which I apply the cream, remains moisturised all day long. My fine lines were very minimal but I have noticed them becoming fainter and no new ones have formed so I would say that this cream is a good preventative measure and that it is also good at reversing signs of aging. Like I said, my lines are fine so I can't comment on how well this works on more stubborn wrinkles.
As I only use the product on a small area, I can't really comment on its ability to prevent my skin from sun damage but to be fair, I definitely haven't been burnt on the areas where I have applied it. You get a very small amount of product for your money and the thick glass is quite misleading as to the amount of cream that you actually have inside. I only use mine on a little area of my face but if you are using the cream daily and all over the face and neck, it will be gone in a flash.
All in all, this is a rich and luxurious cream that keeps the skin hydrated all day long. The ingredients help the skin to retain moisture and protect it from being damaged by the sun. From my experience, I would say that it is fantastic at preventing new wrinkles and fine lines from forming and for preventing your current imperfections from becoming more pronounced. It also reduces the fine lines and wrinkles that you may already have by some degree. For the price of the product, I would say that it gives very good results.
I am only 30 years old but some fine lines have started to appear under my eyes. So I've started looking for a good anti wrinkle cream. I don't want to pay a fortune and I want to try the cream out before I buy it. I know I can go to cosmetics shops and ask for samples but I don't feel comfortable doing that. Luckily I found some samples for this cream from Garnier www.ultraliftchallenge.co.uk and ordered them. I must say the samples arrived quite fast and after the using them for 14 days I really see a change. My skin is so soft. One of my friends even says the lines are not so visible anymore so this Garnier Ultra Lift cream seems to work. I guess now I just have to buy the cream and try it for a longer time. Hopefully the lines will completly go away or at least no convert into strong wrinkles.
I am on my second jar of this cream now and will definitely be buying another when this one runs out.
I bought this cream as a night moisturiser with the added bonus of it promising to minimise fine lines and wrinkles, and I haven't been disappointed.
I am 34 and have oily skin with a few lines appearing around my mouth and on my forehead. I can't say I have noticed a vast improvement in the lines, but they weren't too bad anyway but they certainly have got no worse in the year I have been using this cream. What this cream does best is moisturise. My skin goes through periods of being flakey and dry in places and I have found this product to be the best in sorting this problem out literally overnight. I wash my face, slather it on and in the morning there are no flakey patches anymore, and my skin is always lovely and soft.
It is a good base for make-up and makes my foundation go further as you don't need to put so much on as it glides on over the top.
It lasts well and in my opinion is money well spent.
I may only be 24, but I am a keen advocat of the saying prevention is better than a cure. I have also heard that it is very good to start using anti wrinkle creams as early as possible to keep your skin supple and soft. I have therefore been keen for a while to start using anti-wrinkle creams, however I always found them too expensive and I wasn't sure which brand would be the best.
I was in my local superdrug and stumbled across this Garnier Ultra lift cream which not only sounded really good it was on offer to!It was on offer for just over £5 and so I thought I would try it.
The cream comes in a bright red pot, just like the picture, with a white lid. It looks very classy and professional which I liked, it sounds silly but I really like my creams and pots to look as nice as possible on my shelf.
The cream itself is a thick, white colour and smells really nice and sweet. When I went to put it on I noticed that although it is thick it smooths on really nicely and does not go too greasy. As I can have problems with an oily t-zone the fact that it dried nicely and matte was important for me. This also makes it a great base for makeup. It managed to do this whilst also leaving the skin feeling soft and moisturised however.
I also have to be careful what products I use on my sensitive skin as some creams can really irritate me. This cream however seems to be soft and safe on my skin so far.
So its a great moisturiser, but does it really work? Well the product claims it will reduce the appearance of wrinkles and make skin feel smoother and firmer. Well the few creases I have on my forehead do appear lessened although I dont have any serious wrinkles to test this on. But my skin does feel softer and firmer after using it, so I really believe it would work on more obvious wrinkles as well.
All in all I would recommend this cream to anyone and I think it will become an integral part of my daily skin care routine!
I did not buy Garnier Ultra Lift Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream to review it. However, the results were so good; I thought I would like to share my experience with you.
I have a few small wrinkles on my forehead and of course round my eyes. Well in the last year, I have noticed my first proper wrinkle it was above my mouth, vertical and instantly deep looking. Every time I looked in the mirror, I could see it. I had just about convinced myself that it did not matter we all age, that to worry about it was just being incredibly vain.
Garnier UltraLift Anti-wrinkle day cream SPF 15, I don't usually buy this brand of anti-wrinkle cream as I had tried it several years ago and I didn't seem to suit my skin, it did not absorb well and I could neither see or feel any benefit from using it .
Last year when I was shopping in Boots for my usual anti-wrinkle cream I noticed the Garnier UltraLift was on special offer and as there was a NEW on the front of the box I thought I would buy it as I would be using my Boots points and would not have to spend any money to try it .
When I buy an anti-wrinkle cream, all I expect is for it to delay the inevitable signs of ageing and to make my skin feel and look at its best.
What do they tell you on the box:
"Garnier UltraLift spf15 helps uncrease the appearance of even deep wrinkles "
"Skin relaxing ginger has been carefully selected for its ability to counteract the micro-contractions of the skin, which can lead to the appearance of lines and wrinkles."
Did I believe any of this?
When you open the jar, the contents have the consistency of a thick cream with a pleasant slightly fruity smell. No scent of ginger at all.
When you apply it to the skin with light circular movements, it is absorbed completely within seconds. There was no greasy feeling on my skin and I found it made a good base for my makeup. If that was all I would have been quite pleased with it.
On the second week of me using the Garnier once a day, that nasty looking deep wrinkle has 98% disappeared. There is just a very faint mark on my skin and no wrinkle. The wrinkles on my forehead were never very deep, but I have had them along time. They are now looking quite faint.
I have been amazed and pleased that this has actually worked.
It has now been several months since I first tried the Garnier ultra lift anti-wrinkle day cream, I have not used it all the time and I have used other anti-wrinkle creams .
That nasty looking deep wrinkle has not reappeared. I thought it might if I stopped using this cream as I thought perhaps it was just re-hydrating and plumping the skin and not actually getting rid of the wrinkles.
Having hit 50 a couple of months ago i am more into my anti-wrinkle and ultra-lift products now than i have ever been, yes i know all about after the horse has bolted etc. But after having used many different products from many different companies there is one company that i always return to and have complete faith in. I also have very sensitive skin and i have never had any problem with this.
~~~ Packaging ~~~
Garnier Ultra Lift Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream does exactly what it says on the jar. It comes in a little red glass jar approximately 2" in diameter and about an inch and a half high with a white screw cap, and contains 50ml of cream. The jar is quite heavy so you probably wouldn't want to travel with this cream.
~~~ Contents ~~~
When you open the jar the cream does have the most beautiful fragrance, it is light and fresh not too overpowering just a very delicate smell. The cream is light to the touch but also very rich and creamy, and when applied to the skin rubs in very quickly and efficiently. It leaves no greasiness on your face or fingers after application.
~~~ Results ~~~
The results are wonderful and the very reason i return to this product time and time again. It leaves the skin soft, smooth and silky feeling with no stickiness and you can apply make-up immediately after application of the cream. I have been using this product for around about 5 years now and i can honestly say that most people think i am much younger than my age, which at my age is really lovely to hear.
~~~ Cost ~~~
I have seen this cream in various shops and the price can vary greatly but it seems to be in the range of about £7 to £9 however i have seen it on ebay for about a fiver, though once the postage is added you don't gain anything.
~~~ Opinion ~~~
I love this product and as i have said it is an old faithful for me, doing exactly what it is meant to do, and excellent value for money in my opinion. I would recommend this to anyone including all those with sensitive skin as i have.
I absolutely love this product! I first purchased this as a moisturiser about two years ago after trying several different moisturisers that were of the more budget variety over a long period of time. I was never satisfied that they were anywhere near as nice as the more luxury brands I had been fortunate enough to try in sample sizes (i.e. lancome).
However, this cream is fabulous! It is reasonably priced (£7.00 - £9.00) depending on where you buy it, and comes in a pretty and good sized pot. The smell is divine! It is really fruity, and many people have commented on the smell in the past just from me being in the same room as them. The cream is a lovely texture. It initially seems heavy as it is quite dense, however it absorbs beautifully. To put the cherry on top...it is also SPF 15 now, so you can wear it out anytime of year with relatively few worries! Try this product even if you are used to the more premium varieties!
I first bought this moisturiser a few years ago when it first came out, mainly because I loved the packaging, but I've stuck to using it ever since because it turned out to be really good. It costs around £6 depending on where you buy it from, but there are often some quite good offers on and I've managed to pick it up for as little as £3 before.
It comes in a cute little red glass jar with a white plastic screw on lid. The lid screws on really tight so it's not going to be a problem to take travelling with you. The jar is quite heavy though, so you may not want to be carrying it around with you.
It's a nice light cream with a lovely smooth, creamy texture. It smooths onto the skin nicely, but it does take a fair bit of the cream to cover your whole face because it sinks in really quickly. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth, without any greasiness and without leaving any residue behind or feeling like it's clogging my pores. The cream also has a lovely scent to it which makes it much nicer to use than the usual creamy smelling moisturisers.
After a few weeks of using this moisturiser my skin felt so much softer and smoother, and looked really healthy and glowing. I've continued to use it ever since and I cannot imagine using any other anti-ageing cream, they're all so heavy and rich and just make my skin feel dirty, but this one is perfect. It's kept my skin feeling and looking firm and fresh, and as yet I have absolutely no visible signs of aging (which apparently should be starting to show by now).
The one problem I did have with the moisturiser was that it didn't have a sun protection factor, but it's now available with spf15, so it protects your skin from further signs of aging as well as keeping it looking firm and young.
Quite simply I love this stuff.
One of Garnier's best products (Garnier Fresh 24 hour cream being the other one), UltraLift is smooth, easy to apply and sufficiently moisturising.
If you like me suffer from normal to dry skin, this cream is ideal for you as it is non greasy and sufficiently 'substantial' - I find it keeps my skin moisturised for 6-8 hours after application.
Its smooth texture is ideal for use before putting on makeup as it is quickly absorbed and keeps the skin nice and smooth which eases the application of makeup.
UltraLift has a light pleasing fragrance which disappears after a while.
As to the anti wrinkle effects - it doesn't effect any noticeable change to wrinkles (let's face it, nothing apart from surgery does so why do manufacturers always claim this??)
I have been using this cream for a few years now and whilst I have had my attentions diverted to other creams every now and again, I find that I always come back to Garnier as it still has good, lasting moisturising capability compared with other brands out there.
At £7.99 it isn't cheap but there's usually offers abound so stock up on this when they occur!
Garnier Ultra Lift Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream is one of the best of the reasonably priced face creams on the market. I found it easy to apply and it sinks into your skin in a matter of minutes to allow you to apply your make up. It leaves no residue on your skin and will not feel greasy eighter. After a week or so you can feel your skin becoming tighter and visibly see the wrinkles ironing themselves out. The packaging it comes with is striking, it is neatly contained in a white and red box so the glass jar does not get damaged. It is widely available both at chemists and supermarkets and, if you keep an eye out, is quite often on special offer which makes it even better value for money. You do not need to use a lot each morning of the anti wrinkle cream to begin to see the benefits and I find that a jar (50ml) usually lasts for about a month.
