As I can't afford the luxury of a facial very often, from time to time I decide to treat myself to a home facial treatment such as a mask. They're supposed to provide all sorts of wonderful benefits for your skin such as clearing out pores and firming skin.
There is a wide range of individual masks that are sold in sachets. They're not expensive and therefore a handy way of trying out different brands. Some masks are self heating, others can be peeled off and the rest just have to be wiped away. This particular mask from one of my favourite cosmetic brands, Garnier, is sold in a double pack sachet and costs around £1.50.
The mask is part of Garnier's UltraLift range of products and it's suggested that using them in conjunction with each other will produce the best results, naturally. This mask is specifically for those who feel their facial skin is lacking in firmness and definition and wishing to minimise the appearance of wrinkles. Well who doesn't?
~~~What it Promises~~~
By using this mask which is enhanced with 100% natural essences of cherries, the packet tells us it will leave our "skin feeling smoother, firmer and looking radiant to give facial skin a 'lift' . Your skin is smoother, noticeably softer and radiant. Skin feels firmer and more toned to touch. Skin looks and appears lifted."
The sachet is a double pack which is divided in the middle and you tear off either the top of bottom half when you come to use it. Since the instructions for using the mask are on the bottom half, I chose to use the top half first so I could throw it away when I'd finished and not lose the instructions. Not that they're complicated or anything. Each half contains 6ml.
~~~Using the Mask~~~
You're instructed to thoroughly cleanse your face and neck before applying. After this, you just spread the mask over your face and neck and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes.
The mask itself is a whitish mixture with a texture that I'd liken to a combined cream and gel. It smells lovely, not exactly cherries that I can detect, but it's a refreshing fragrance.
While applying the mask over my face and neck it feels nice and cooling. I find there's a little too much of the mask left over, but rather than waste it, I just piled more onto my face until I'd used it up.
I left it on for around 15 minutes during which time it dried completely to leave a matt, barely detectable film covering my skin.
After the recommended amount of time I washed it off with warm water and didn't pay too much attention at the time to the results as I had to rush off and do other things. It was only when it came time to putting on my night time moisturiser that I noticed the lines around my eyes had significantly reduced. I was trying to work out what it was that could have caused this, then realised it must have been due to the mask as I hadn't used anything else in the meantime. I can't say that it firmed my skin, as such, but it did leave it feeling fresh, clean and soft.
This is a mask I'll use again and it's certainly worth the money spent to give your face a treat.
