I was sampling this day cream from Garnier thanks to a beauty friend and was interested to see how it would perform. The cream is quite thick and goes a long way. It has a really pleasant fragrance to it and gave immediate relief to my skin which was feeling tight and dry after a shower and using a scrub on it.
Garnier UltraLift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Day Cream - 50ml is a daily solution to target the different signs of ageing, including wrinkles and loss of firmness. The triple action formula of Garnier UltraLift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Day Cream does more than a classic anti-wrinkle cream action to fight the signs of ageing.
This cream really does intensively moisturise my skin and provides long lasting moisture. I don't think it particularly lifted my skin but it smelt really nice and a little bit fruity, I didn't mind the scent at all!
I looked up the costs online and was surprised by the range - from £6.29 for a 50ml pot at Superdrug to £9.99 for the same size at Boots. Boots did have a two for £12 offer on though so it evened out the price if you don't mind buying two, plus of course the Boots points. I think Boots prices are elevated because of the points and coupons they offer. You can sometimes save doing a threshold spend so it's worth hoarding those coupons.
This day cream is definitely on my list! It performed well and felt nice on my skin and the smell was a bonus too. I will probably buy this once I get through the stash...
Garnier Ultra lift Day Cream Moisturizer.
The garnier ultra lift moisturizer is part of an anti-aging range that includes day, night and eye creams.
I have chosen to try the day cream as I already have products for the other areas/times left in my cabinet.
*** THE PROMISES***
So Garnier promises to give me an anti-wrinkle cream that will reduce the appearance of my wrinkles by lumping my skin, which in turn allows my skin to feel firmer. Then I will get a radiance boost by the cream smoothing my skin and hydrating it.
All of these things sound wonderful and especially as the products ingredients are combined with regenerating plant cells.
It is suitable for an age range of 35-60 years. This is quite a wide range in my opinion as I think that people between these ages can often have a widely differing face care needs, but still I fit in the bracket so off we go and try.
***AND DO THEY KEEP THEM?***
On opening my pot and scooping a small amount out, the moisturizer is quite thick and slightly off white in colour. Nice texture as it is not too runny and has the feel of a quality, substantial cream.
I didn’t really notice on opening the pot but on applying to my face the cream has an odd smell, slightly glueish in my opinion. I don’t know what it is (hopefully not glue!) but I don’t really like it I have to say.
Not to be put off though I continue to use my moisturizer until the end.
The cream absorbs really well with no glistening of oil left over on my skin and provides a good base for makeup. It does moisturize well and my skin doesn’t feel tight at all, it feels well hydrated. Not sure it’s given me a radiance boost it has to be said.
One major selling point of this cream is the anti-wrinkle claims. To point out I don’t really have significant wrinkles but I am starting to get some lines around my eyes but it would be nice to reduce what I have got.
Inside your box comes a wrinkle reader so you can see where you start and finish after using the cream. Unfortunately it didn’t affect my wrinkles at all.
***PACKAGE AND PRICE***
The cream comes in a dark red round pot, slightly bulbous at the bottom with a screw top lid.
Available in larger chemists and Boots stores. Price is around £10
It is not one for me, I don’t like not recommending things mainly because someone else’s skin may love it and become wrinkle free. However as I had no improvement and it has an off putting smell I cant recommend it.

I quite like Garnier products on the whole. I have tred a ton of them in my time and when Boots had this on special offer (normally £9.99 for a 50ml pot) at one third off, I tried it as I had used Garnier products lots of time before and not been disappointed. I felt that I needed something that was going to be able to firm up my skin and something a little more heavy duty than the Simple Day Cream I had been using previously.
This cream comes in a rather pretty looking plastic red screw top pot. The cream itself is quite thick – probably thicker than I was expecting for a day cream, if I am honest. I have also used the night cream in this range and there is really no difference at all in consistency between the two of them.
The cream smells fresh and light and not too heavily perfumed, which is the way I prefer it to be. It is thick when applied t the skin however it sinks in very quickly and I don’t have to sit about for ages waiting for it to be absorbed before I can go ahead and get on with applying my foundation and the rest of my make up.
I have been using this daily face cream now for quite some time and the pot lasts me for ages as I nly ever need to use a small amount. I also use it right down my neck and onto my chest. It does not clog the pores at all and it feels light and natural on my skin and is an excellent base for make up.
I would say that my skin looks more toned since I have been using it though I don’t have too many wrinkles as yet so I cannot say whether or not these have lessened during the time I have been sing it.
It’s really nice and great if you want something on the heavier side of daily facial creams.
Just before Christmas, I was running a little low on face cream and although I knew Santa would bring me some more, I didn't quite have enough to last until Christmas day so I had to buy some more.
This retails for £9.99 for a 50ml pot so when compared to other brands on the market, it is a little expensive, however, what I like about this brand is that Boots quite often have a promotion running of 2 for £12 which is when I purchased mine. It is also available from most chemist, beauty stores and also supermarkets.
The cream comes in a little red pot which has a lighter red screw top lid. Upon removing the lid, the cream inside is a nice white colour and surprisingly quite thick for a day cream. Upon a applying to my face though, the cream absorbs really easily. The cream has a nice fragrance to it which is quite hard to describe but it does have a slight fruit scent.
As I commented earlier, when applying, the cream seemed to instantly absorb, so much so that I can almost instantly apply my foundation on top. It leaves my skin soft to touch and I would say it left a nice sheen on my face (but not so that I look like I have greasy skin). I am also really impressed with how long the cream lasts too, I have been using since just before Christmas on a daily basis and there is still plenty left in the pot, a little really goes a long way when it comes to this cream.
Although I don't have a huge amount of wrinkles, I do have a few fine lines and I would definitely say that using this cream, along with the serum and night cream as definitely reduced the appearance of them. I would definitely recommend this cream, it has made my skin look a lot younger and I would give this 5 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for reading.
WHAT IS IT?
This is day cream that says it will firm your skin and stop wrinkles from firming also.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
You apply to the skin on your face and neck after cleansing.
WHAT I THINK
I was given a one month supply of this face cream after I requested it though the Garnier website, it was sent to me in 30 sachets and each sachet was enough for one application of the cream.
I used it for a whole month and I do not think it had very much effect on my skin. It is very light and I do not think it is very moisturising for me, I do not have dry skin so if you do suffer from that then this cream will not be much use for you because it only just about moisturised my skin. It did make my skin feel soft but that effect did not last for very long after I had applied the cream.
The cream has a very pleasing smell that I like but it does not linger on my skin and I am happy about that because I think it is quite strong.
I do not think this would be strong enough for it to help to stop your skin from getting wrinkles but because of it making my skin soft the fine lines near my eyes looked a little bit plumper so they were not visible, my lines are very tiny anyway so even if I use a normal moisturiser it can have the same effect on them.
A pot of this cream that is 50ml costs £9.99 and I think that is too much because this cream is very average and does not do very much for my skin. I will not buy a pot but I will use up all of my sachets because it is not a bad product.
3 Dooyoo Stars.
This is my must have product: Garnier UltraLift Day Anti Wrinkle Firming Cream. I have been using it for a few years now. I wanted to write a review because I would hate for it to go off the market so please read and buy this moisturiser!
This moisturiser is light weight and is easily absorbed. It is a thick textured cream which goes a long way. I find it does make the wrinkles / lines look less noticeable. I have fine lines and this product for me, makes a difference.
I have never had a break-out or irritation after using it. I can't say if it has a scent to it because I don't recall it / it is nicely packaged and lasts a good two months.
I buy this product because I feel it makes my skin look better, I have combination (now days; mature skin!), with fine lines and a few deeper ones. This cream does seem to decrease lines. I use it each morning and for this summer it was perfect with SPF30.
Garnier is a brand that I trust and I don't feel the need to upgrade to more expensive products as I have tried many in the past and this is one which helps my skin look fresh and less lined.
Price wise, I usually keep an eye out and buy it in the £6.00 - £7.00 region.
I would recommend this product as I am prone to spots and this cream does not aggravate or increase that aspect. More importantly, I am convinced it reduces my fine lines, decreasing and making them less noticeable. Therefore I love it and keep buying it , hope it does the same for you x
