I've used Garnier products for a number of years and this is always my default moisturiser when I'm not quite sure what to buy. This moisturiser comes in a plastic apple green coloured pot and has a white plastic twist on lid. The pot is very simple in design but functional and looks good. It holds 50ml of moisturiser which is a pretty decent size. I really have no issues with the design of this product because it allows me to see exactly how much is in the pot and also allows me to get every last scrap out. I also find that these pots are really handy to clean out once finished and keep remnants of other bottle of moisturiser/foundations. The cream is basically white in colour and has a semi-thick consistency. By this I mean it wouldn't flow if you poured it but isn't thick set. It has a lovely fresh appley smell to it which is really nice. I think the overall think I get from this cream initially is how fresh it looks, smells and feels and this is always a great thing in a moisturiser. The product makes many claims, like they all do, about lines and wrinkles. I am only 23 so it isn't really an issue yet, though prevention is better then cure I'm sure. I do find that this feel very refreshing when applied and leaves my skin feeling soft, hydrated and smooth. I personally find it a little light for a night moisturiser as my preference is for a super thick cream, but it is a nice base for applying make up on to and it certainly keep my skin feeling soft and hydrated for most of the day. When I have used this at night I've use it in combination with my eight hour cream of an argan oil which gives the added skin softening I find I need after a long day at work or uni. This used to be one of my favourite creams but after discovering the johnsons daily moisturiser (see review) this has sadly been relegated to my make up bag as a morning application before war paint goes on. I think this is partly because of the price which on boots is a ridiculous £9. I usually buy this from wilkinsons and find it is more around the £5 mark but with my new favourite johnsons being more around the £3 mark there is no contest. I'll probably still continue to buy this because I think it's a decent moisturiser and not too heavy before applying make up but it certainly isn't my firm favourite any more.
Garnier Youthful Radiance Multi-Active Care Day Normal /Combination - £9.19 at Boots currently 2 Garnier products for £12 This Garnier product is in a pale green pot with a white lid. The product is sold in a small box, and feels light when you pick it up. |The cream itself is a pale off white colour - possibly on a pint chart it would be considered to be apple white. The cream has a lovely soft consistency, and feels smooth when you apply it to the skin. It has a faintly cumber like scent to it, which is very light, and inoffensive. The product claims to minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, which may or may not be true - mine have never looked like cracks in plaster, so I may have just not noticed the improvements. It does lave your skin feeling soft and fresh. The product acts to prevent shine for around 12 hours, and this is something that I feel is really effective about the cream. The thing that I consider to be the issue with this cream is the packaging. The light feel to the box is because the pot has an outer layer to it, and a lining that sneakily is smaller then the outer layer. It isn't a massive issue as the cream does last for a while, but it is deceptive. Because of the issue with the packaging (the box isn't entirely necessary either) I feel the cream is worth three stars; however the product itself is really quite nice.
I was looking for a moisturiser that was light for the summer and decided to give this one a go, I picked in up from feelunique.com for £8, including free delivery (June 2012). The product comes in a glass pot that is light green and has a white plastic screw top lid that is easy to use and does not leak. There is 50ml of the product in the pot. The product is designed to smooth lines, boost radiance and hydrate for up to 24hrs. It is formulated to offer visible anti ageing action to the over 30's. It is enriched with a complex of ingredients derived from nature. It is for external use only. How do you know if the product is right for you? Well Garnier claim that it is the right product for you if you feel that your skin is less able to recover from the effects of fatigue and defend itself against daily aggressors. If your skin is beginning to show the first signs of ageing: its complexion is less luminous, it feels dehydrated and lacks smoothness. The skin's youthful radiance is starting to fade (all very depressing!) They also claim that the product is different to the rest of the products on the market as it offers visible anti-ageing action for the over 30's and that the have Garnier created Youthful Radiance multi-active day care: a new 24 hour hydrating moisturiser to boost two major signs of youthful-looking skin; Radiant complexion: more luminous and more uniform, and Smooth skin: fine lines appear reduced. Skin's texture looks smoother so it reflects the light better. The product is supposed to work specially for normal/combination skin, the light formula is enriched with a new complex of ingredients derived from nature: caffeine, known for its stimulating action, and grape anti-oxidants for their anti-ageing properties. The formula helps skin regain radiance, reduce the appearance of first lines and keep skin looking younger. How did I find it? Well it was very light and had a great clean fresh scent that is prefect for the summer (if we actually were having one), the cream soaks well into my skin and left it felling soft and refreshed without making it greasy. I have been using the cream for about 4 weeks, each morning, and have noticed that my skin is definitely softer and a little more radiant, I am not convinced that it has done anything for my fine lines, but overall I am happy with the product and would use it again in the summer, as it is light to use. Overall I would recommend this product to others as it is well priced, leaves my skin feeling softer and more radiant and is a great summer product.
I am 21 years old and was looking for a cream that would not be too heavy and that would hydrate my skin. i found this one in boots for £4.99 after previously trying lots of no.7 ones as i heard that they were good. however, i found them too heavy for my skin. I have quite a dry t-zone, my nose and across near my eyebrows and sometimes even my chin. I also suffer from a slight bit of irritation that used to be eczema on my cheeks. This cream has not aggregated it like i find some of them do and it is hydrating enough for my patches of dry skin. I cannot tell you what it is like for oily spotty skin as i do not really suffer from this. It smells absolutely lovely and the texture is so smooth and refreshing. I put it on every morning because without it my skin feels dry and tight. I find that it drys really quickly, allowing you to apply make up pretty much immediately after. I put my foundation straight on top of this cream and it acts as a lovely base. I love this cream and i would definitely recommend it to a friend. It is great value for money and lasts absolutely ages. Another thing i love about this product is that it comes in a tub so you can get every little bit out. sometimes with tubes you waste the bit at the end because you cant push it out. the pavkaging also looks very fresh, representing the cream very well.
First of all this moisturiser is only suited for combination or normal skin, if your skin is oily or very dry I would avoid this as it can give you spots! Seeing as my face is combination It worked perfectly for me! *The Container* The cream comes in a black box to fit the tub in, with it a picture of the green tub, Inside there is the tub and the creams guidelines and information, the stuff is around 6 pounds and contains a glass tub with 50ml of the cream inside, the glass tub means its fragile and I wouldn't recommend taking it about in your handbag, the lid is a screw top which always gets stuck and takes a long time to put back on carefully, I don't like the tub because I'm very clumsy and keep things on the top shelf and always seem to smash glass tubs and bottles but it tends to last me three months overall but I do sometimes forgot days in my skin-care regime! *The cream* In the tub is a white thick cream which looks like a thick yoghurt , the thickness doesn't look very attractive at all and the cream has that garnier fruity soapy smell which is quite nice, but could be better as I like to have a nice smell to my creams! *Application* Just stick your finger on and apply around your face, it does feel hard to blend and can be very sticky but it is absorbed very quickly and began to work its magic, the application was overall very easy and the "dip your finger in" method seems to work well for facial creams and makes it easier to prevent wasting something you spent your money on! *Results and Overall* Overall the tub, look of the cream don't do this product many favours, but the cream does leave you with nice moisturised soft skin with a nice glow to it, so overall it is a good product the packaging just needs some working on I would give this a 4/5 for that!
Finally a moisturiser that lives up to the claims on the box. While browsing the beauty aisle I chose this product as it seemed perfectly tailored towards my age demographic. Whereas so many products cater to an older audience who are already looking to repair skin damage or lessen the appearance of wrinkles. This product is gentle and suitable for everyday use. It's marketed as a day cream but I also like to apply it before sleeping as I find it gives me fresh, radiant skin in the mornings. The effects of this product are long lasting and if you accidentally miss a day or two your skin will still retain the benifits it has gained. I like the consistency of this product it's not sheer or runny like some brands but not too thick either. It also absorbs into skin quickly. It has a distinctive slightly fruity fragrance which reminds me of Garnier's shampoos. After only one day of use I noticed that my skin was brighter, firmer, smoother and more hydrated. This product also effectively combats the first signs of aging, all glimpses of future wrinkles faded especially under my eyes. My skin looks healthier now than it did when I was 15. Amazingly this product delivered on its claims. In the past I've tried a range of moisturisers that disappointed. Now for the negative aspects of this product. While this product is ideal for those with youthful skin it is less effective for mature skin. This product doesn't reverse the effects of time but protects and nourishes youthful skin. However Garnier does offer other moisturisers that may cater to an older market. Lastly the jar is quite small and I predict lasts roughly 2 and 1/2 months. However this product is inexpensive and is widely available in supermarkets and department stores and so is easy to replace.
