* About Gatineau *
Gatineau are a salon brand and have been a skin care specialist for over 70 years. Created by Madame Jeanne Gatineau, a physiotherapist and chiropodist, Gatineau has been an established and renowned brand since Madame Jeanne Gatineau opened her first salon in Paris in 1937. By 1950, she had opened the Gatineau Beauty School, which trained thousands of beauty and skin care specialists over the past 50+ years.
The original Gatineau ethos was to develop a specialised skincare for all skin types and Madame Jeanne Gatineau would custom make facials for her individual clients. Today, Gatineau still specialise in targeting all types of skin, as well as all different types of skin issues, from the very oil to the very dry and from the young to the more mature aging skin.
* About this night repair cream *
For your money you will receive 50ml of this product and you will need to use a spatula ( as with all tub-type skincare packaging ) to retrieve the product out of the tub.
I have combination skin and I'm prone to break outs so I wouldn't usually try and/or use a night cream intended for dry skin, but I do use this when the weather turns cold. However, for very oily skin types you probably won't like it.
*What this night repair has been designed to do*
The reason that it is for dry skins is because it is seen very much as a 'comfort' cream to leave the skin supple and nourished.
It contains Essential Fatty Acids (Omegas 3, 6 and 9 extracted from cranberries, spinach, hazelnuts, fish ) and not only does the remarkable Cranberry seed produce a perfectly-balanced Omega package, the fruit is also one of nature's richest source of the most potent form of Vitamin E called Tocotreinols.
It also contains Lipids (complex of plant fatty acids such as shea butter, olives, sweet almond and camellia oils) to leave the skin feeling more supple and velvet; whilst proteins such as soy extract, marine collagen solution was also added to help boost cellular metabolism which will also suit more mature skin types who have visible signs of aging. Glucides in the form of wheat extract and sugar has been added to moisturise skin and strengthen surface cell cohesion and Vitamins A and F were added to encourage cell renewal ( which will also suit those looking for anti-aging results. )
Finally, Gatineau have included anti-oxidants Vitamins E and C to help work on protecting the skin against the harmful effects of free radicals, whilst they've also used ceramidone (plant extracts) to help strengthen the intercellular cement to improve skin protection from dehydration.
Overall, it's very much a repairing, a regenerating, nourishing and comforting cream for dry skin types and/or for those who suffer from the visible signs of aging and whose skin needs an extra boost during the winter months.
This should be applied after cleansing&toning. Very dry skin types may want to add an oil/serum to their skincare routine before this product but it's been created as an all round nourishing cream for dry skins. Very oily skins would probably want to avoid this night repair cream as there are better suited products for your skin type available.
