A while ago I ended up getting quite a lot of beauty boxes with various samples in. One of the products I got was the Ginvera Green Tea Exfoliating Marvel Gel. I hadn’t heard of this brand before but it appears to be widely available online, in places such as Harvey Nichols and Cult Beauty. A tube costs £22; I got a small 10ml sample.
The tube is a distinctive green colour which is appealing and attractive. The gel is designed to cleanse your pores, leading to young-looking and fresh skin free of blackheads and blemishes. To use, you need to apply a small amount onto dry skin – not a usual routine for a facial scrub. It contains green tea extract and is meant to exfoliate and remove the top layer of dead skin cells.
To use, rub into dry skin, massaging for approximately one minute. The product comes out like a gel and when you rub it in it is quite strange: the gel goes rather “bitty” but even so you can tell that it is cleansing your face. It feels lovely and cooling on the skin – ideal when you’re using it first thing in the morning – and my skin looks brighter immediately after use. It doesn’t cause any skin irritation at all and rinses off easily.
After using it every few days for a couple of weeks I could definitely see a difference in my skin. It was less shiny, more even-toned and freer from blemishes. Despite the high price I would definitely consider buying this again, as it does a really good job.
The idea of this is that you apply this cool clear pale green gel to your face skin when it is dry. I then left it for some time – depending on how long I had it was between five minutes and half an hour. When you apply it you rub it in with dry fingers gently in an upwards movement for about a minute and you can rinse it off then but as I said it depends on what I am doing when I apply it as to how long I leave it. Some skin rubbish comes to the surface as you massage the product into your skin After that I rinsed it off with warm water and used a face cloth.
Once rinsed off my skin felt clean and smooth and I think my pores looked cleaner and less obvious too.
After using this for a week or so I found my skin did seem to look brighter and it certainly felt nice to touch.
It is a kind of exfoliator but it has no scrubby grains in it so it is very gentle so fine for sensitive skins and also okay to use on acne prone skin as it will not aggravate it. It also has anti ageing benefits which is the appeal to me!
I can't say I am wanting my skin whitened but the other benefits make this a great product to use. It isn't cheap as it costs around £22 for a 60ml tube. I felt quite pleased with my two 10 ml samples for which I paid nothing as that would have cost me around £7 to buy.
Green Tea extract is a strong anti-oxidant as those that drink it regularly already know and it helps to delay the skin’s ageing process and reduce the damage from sun’s rays.
Apart from green tea it also has Korean soybean which whitens the skin which is considered important in Asia. This soybean is fermented with 'Bacillus Subtilis which will produce Cellplus+ which helps whiten and moisturise the skin.
he Ginseng increases skin cell renewal and also helping hydrate ,nourish and brighten dull skin.
Pomelo( kind of like a large grapefruit) Extract is rich in Vitamin C and helps protect the skin from free radical damage and again helps whiten.
Pearl Power is once again whitening and also nourishing , it renews skin cells, corrects UV damage and leaves skin with ' a sheer, radiant glow on skin.'
Biogel in this helps the skin absorb nutrients into the skin cells
I have been using mine about two weeks and I only use it once or twice a week and I think it is going to last me some time at this rate.
After using this and rinsing it off as described I then toned and moisturised my face as usual. I have been very happy with my experience so far and would buy this again.
I purchased this after seeing a review about it and reading that it was meant to be good at removing blackheads from your skin. This is something I do have a bit of a problem with around my nose area, so I thought that I would give this a try.
My skin is troublesome. I have very dry patches on my face, yet I also still get a number of blackheads and spots around my nose and chin area. Using anything too harsh can make the dry patches worse, and applying anything too rich for the dryness can make the spots first, so I have to be really careful.
The packaging is quite premium looking I feel. It is all green in colour to match the green tea in the ingredients.
The tube has a screw top lid, and feels nice in the hand.
This product is a gel. I can only describe it like snot. It has a green tinge to it, but it is fairly transparent and has no discernable scent.
You take some of this gel onto your finger tips and then rub it into dry skin with dry fingers. As you rub it, it starts to turn into a slightly different texture, and you start to see green bits that are more solid and this is the skin being exfoliated. By around one minute, there is no evidence of the original gel. I wash all the flakey stuff off my face at this point with warm water and then pat my face dry with a towel.
Inspecting my face, my blackheads did not appear any less in number or visibility but my dry skin does always look improved. I don't find it eliminates it all completely though.
Overall, it is a nice gentle exfoliater. It is pleasant enough to use, but for the price I paid (£22.99) I was expecting a lot more from this product. I use a Dermologica product that leaves my skin silky smooth. This product just cannot compare to the result I get from that product. The only real advantage is that it is gentle enough to not worry if it gets near my eyes and I could use it every day if I wanted to.
To me, this is more of an average product because it just does not make any difference at all to my blackheads however pleasant it is to use. It's ok if you have money to waste on products, but most people I know want the best value for their money and I just don't think I have had this from this product so I cannot really say go out and buy it.
For ages I have had a sample sized tube of this in the bathroom and neglected to use it. I decided to try it last week and I have been literally amazed by this product. It is described as an exfoliating gel and online beauty communications are raving about its ability to remove blackheads which are something we all don't need in our lives.
I just use a tiny amount and rub on to dry skin in circular motions, the tube advises 30 rubs which takes around a minute. I focus on the areas I feel have pores that may need attention like my nose. I tend to use it in the shower and then it's very easy to rinse off. The greenish gel turns in to a white flaky paste and is easy to maneouver on the skin surface. My skin is left so soft it literally has a feel of velved to it. I have never felt my face feel so soft!
The Marvel in the title is truly appropriate. I've never seen anything like it. For an exfoliant, it has no grain in it yet it seems to vaccum up the skin and leave it glowing. After using my skin is so clean it really does work as a cleanser too. Its green tea ingredients are a great anti oxidant and lightly treat the skin without feeling too medical. I do find it a bit odd that there are no grainy bits in it which I have come to expect from an exfoliant but equally I don't want to scrub away at delicate facial skin so perhaps this is kinder overall! Whilst it is also cited as a great product for adult acne, that is a problem I don't have but I can see why it would work well for those who suffer with this problem. A solution for this is worth a lot I think.
As with all wonder products, this comes with a price tag. A 60ml bottle costs £22 but used 2-3 times a week it will last a very long time.
I now can't imagine not having this product in my life! My skin feels amazing, soft and clean and I even felt that my make up was going on better without even using a primer so it definitely evens out the skin surface too. I really did notice the difference after using for the first time so that in my book is an amazing result. I don't have to think twice about the star rating I give this product, without a doubt it gets five stars as it is one of those 100% items that ticks all the boxes. Is it worth the hefty price tag? Hell yes!
The joy subscribing to beauty boxes for me is that every now again I come across a sample sized product that I love so much I wouldn't hesitate to purchase the full sized version when the time arises. Ginvera Green Tea Exfoliating Marvel Gel is a product I had read a lot about online and became something I really wanted to try myself, more out of curiosity than anything else. If you haven't heard of this product or know what I am talking about you can find out more about them this little paragraph will give you a brief insight:
"Ginvera Marvel Gel is the most popular blackhead treatment in Asia where skin quality is king. It is a very different exfoliant and extractor because there are no abrasive grains, it is gentle enough to use on sensitive, blemish-prone skin but with noticeable results after just one use. The fact that it also has anti-ageing effects means that this mask is a great answer to the all-too-common problem of adult acne".
So from that it sounds pretty wonderful doesn't it? So what is it meant to do? Well in short here is a very quick overview:
---> With zero blackheads in one step it's the No.1 selling exfoliator gel
---> Tackles pollution impurities and bacteria that leads to pimples and acne
---> Removes dead skin cells to reveal new, healthier looking skin
---> Contains the powerful anti-oxidant of green tea extract
And...Ginvera Green Tea Marvel Gel works by specifically targeting the cornified skin layer, dissolving and removing the dead skin cells on the top most epidermis layer, so it says on the little information card that accompanied the sample. It went on to say that "This gentle yet effective exfoliating action zeros-out blackheads thoroughly and painlessly and helps remove deep layers of dead skin. When the dead skin barrier is removed, the new skin underneath is revealed, allowing your skin's healthy radiance to glow from within. It helps prevent pimples and controls oil secretion to help you stay shine-free the whole day!" Well living in London the one thing I am constantly conscious of is how pollution affects my skin and if I have to make a journey on the tube, well lets just say that what comes off my face when cleansing is not pleasant.
The sample sized tube I have is a 10g tube and it is quite a simple and straightforward design, green coloured tube with the make and name of the product clearly visible as well as what it is, what I liked most was written in very tiny writing "30 rubs to smoother and radiant skin" and on the back are the directions which state "Use daily on dry face with dry fingers. Squeeze a sufficient amount and dot on forehead, cheeks, chin, nose and neck. Massage about one minute. Rinse off with water/facial cleanser" So for me, those 30 rubs are what I count to when I am massaging for that one minute, yes I do count aloud!
As you squeeze this tube, out pops this bright fluorescent gunk, i'm talking Ghostbusters Ectoplasm green and if like me your hands are always warm, you need to get this onto your face double quick because it dissolves quite quickly. Once on your face, as soon as you start to rub, you feel it start to work and it works by dissolving and removing dead skin cells on the top layer - your epidermis layer.
The feeling is similar to when you add a moisturising cream it is so gentle and only when your stop and look at your hands do you see what it has removed - eurgh, how manky did I feel? Many of you will know that I am fanatical about skincare and I use masks, I exfoliate, I cleanser, tone and so on, this product still finds dead skin to remove, which obviously is brilliant but you cant help but feel manky. Naturally if you are using this daily, which you can do, less skin cells come off your skin, though it still manages to find some.
Anyway, once had cleaned my face, I was surprised at how soft and smooth my skin was to the touch and those few irritating blackheads on my nose that had been winding me up, had gone, vanished and naturally I was delighted. My skin remained soft and smooth all day and I often find in humid heat my skin does become slightly shiny in the afternoon, so I tend to have blotting paper in my bag somewhere, after using this, that shine, though still present, was hardly noticeable. I love this stuff!!
As I said my tube was a 10g tube and you can purchase a full sized 60g tube via Janiro for £19.99 or you can buy it from places like Harvey Nichols for £22.
Have you tried this wonder product? Have you tried anything else from the Ginvera range?
