      Disadvantages

Full of good things and good for your skin

Whilst out on a girly shopping trip, my friend and I were in Boots stocking up on essential beauty products. She began telling me about this brand of really fruity, effective products, and showed me where they were so that I could see them for myself. I love fruity scents, and could not resist buying a few to try.

** what is it and what does it do? **

The Good Things Deep Clean Blackhead Exfoliator has been developed by award winning beauty writer Alice Hart-Davis and is designed to make the most of young skin. The packaging states that "The Good Things range uses superfruit beauty boosters in gentle, super-effective formulations" and proudly states on the front of the packaging that it is free from: parabens, mineral oils, sodium laureth sulphate and animal ingredients. It only contains good things, making this range suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
The packaging states that this exfoliator contains smooth micro-beads help to whisk away the dead skin cells that threaten to block pores and create blackheads. Special ingredients include skin-soothing licorice and willow-bark extract which both help to reduce bacteria-levels, while papaya extract help to boost skin radiance. It is also specially formulated for skins prone to breakouts and congestion.

      **How to Use**

Every morning and evening, massage onto wet skin using gentle, circular motions, paying special attention to the nose, chin and forehead. Rinse well with warm water.
Avoid direct contact with eyes. If product gets into the eyes rinse well with water immediately. Due to natural extracts, color may vary.

      **product and packaging...**

The product comes packaged inside a 150 ml tube which has all of the information and instructions on the back. The bottle has a flip up push back on lid, and my only negative comment about this product is that it can be difficult to flip the lid once your hands are wet, and if you flip the lid before wetting your hands, then the exfoliator drips out. The product is dispensed by squeezing the tube...just like a large tube of toothpaste. You do not need to use much of this product for it to be effective. I squeeze an amount smaller than a 10p piece and it is plenty enough for complete application to my face. The tube is designed to stand on its lid so that as much as possible can be used, minimizing waste.

The product itself is pearly white, with small white micro-beads, which exfoliate the skin, leaving it looking soft and smooth. Funnily enough, the texture reminds me of Calpol, in that it was like you could feel the sugar in it. Upon using the exfoliator, the fruity scent is very strong, which for me is nice, however, I was pleased to find that although I could smell a faint fruity scent after I had washed the product from my face, it was not overpowering or very noticeable.
This range of products have been designed with those in their late teens to early thirties in mind, and the funky design on the packaging reflects this. The range is very broad, so it would be possible to have all of your bathroom essentials matching, if you so wish. They also look similar to much more high end brands.

      **price and availability...**

The product is becoming more widely available in chemists and supermarkets. I purchased mine whilst it was on a 2 for £6 offer from Boots, which is good value for money but it's rrp is £4.99 so it is not likely to break the bank. I have also seen it available to buy in Superdrug and Tescos.

      **verdict**

I like this range of products, and this one is no exception. It is easy to apply and leaves my skin feeling very soft and smooth. I like the fruity fragrance and the fact that it is free from so many nasty ingredients.

I'm not sure how good it is at removing blackheads, but it does leave my dry skin feeling soft, smooth and polished. It is an easy step to add to my routine and is not too harsh on my skin, as some exfoliators can be.

I would definitely buy this again. It works for me, smells great and is available at very good prices. This entire range is certainly one to try.
