“ Brand: Guerlain / Type: Face Mask / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Soothes / Product line: Guerlain Issima „
I do have pampering days every now and again. Occasionally I will go to the spa, but now and again I will pamper myself at home and just give myself the opportunity to relax and rejuvenate. One product I used on a recent pamper session was Guerlain Issima Perfect White C Soothing Brightening Mask, which was a new product for me. The Guerlain Issima Perfect White C Soothing Brightening Mask cost me £3.99 from my local hairdressing salon which, in terms of how much I've seen them cost online, seems considerably less expensive than normal. However, I do still think that £3.99 is quite expensive, but Guerlain is obviously a top quality brand and it's not something that's being bought for everyday use. If I look online today, a pack of five currently costs around £35.00 - which obviously equates to about £7.00 per mask - and I think this is very expensive for a use once only beauty product (although cheaper than going to the spa!!).
The Guerlain Issima Perfect White C Soothing Brightening Mask comes in a little blue plastic foil backed sachet which keeps it fresh until opened. It requires no preparation and so it's just a matter of opening the packet and you're ready to go. Unlike other masks I have used, this mask comes in two separate sections, one for the upper face (forehead, eyes and nose) and one for the lower face (mouth and chin). When the mask comes out of the packet it is a made of a white cloth material and is moist but not too wet to make it drippy and sloppy. Before applying the mask I did cleanse my skin so that it was nice and grease and make-up free. Applying the mask is just a matter of spreading the mask cloth over my face and smoothing it out so that there are no bubbles and the mask has contact evenly with the skin. And then waited.
I left the mask on for about 20 minutes and I was surprised that the mask didn't dry out in that time. I liked the fact that my face didn't get too hot with the cloth on and as I often find that masks can make me feel a little hot - but infact this mask was very comfortable. After it had been on for 20 minutes, I removed the mask and just rinsed my face with water. The mask extract was removed easily with just rinsing with water - and then I applied a light moisturiser immediately afterwards to help seal in the moisture.
I have to say that my skin felt wonderful after this face mask and I was very impressed. Not only did my skin feel wonderfully hydrated and looking really great. I felt that my skin just looked clearer, more radiant and younger - and it did have that just-come-out-of-a-spa feeling. It also felt nice and taught (but not overly so) and it felt and looked in great condition. The visible effect of the mask I would say lasted for a good week or so and then I felt like I needed another one - but price-wise this really isn't an option to be doing these treatments too often.
Overall, I do think this is a wonderful product and it works so well. However, I would probably only use it when preparing for a special event because the full RRP is just too much for mere mortals to pay out too often!
I had never used a face mask like these before I bought this pack of five as I had always used the gels and creams that smooth on the face where you can either relax and let it do the work or walk around with it on until it was time to wash off. With these face masks you have to lay still and place them on the face as it is like a thin sheet of material that is moist and has to be placed on the face while your still, which I think is a great idea as then you get the benefits of it working well and also the benefit of relaxation. It's not often I find the time during the day or evening to just stop what I'm doing and chill out with these facial masks you have to and reap the benefits as just taking the time to lay still and let your mind float away does you the world of good.
I paid £29.00 for a pack of five Guerlain Issima Perfect White C Soothing Brightening Mask I bought these t before christmas this year and have used them all and when looking to replace them I would have to play over £40 now so to be perfectly honest I wont be buying them again, this is not because they don't work but it is just because of the price.
I don't think this is ecomonical for just five of the facial masks that can only be used once them thrown away.
They come in a box of five and are individually wrapped to keeop them fresh and moist much like some face wipes you can buy in the supernmarket but these have ingredients that help to rejuvinile your skin and hydrate it.
These are :-
Active Ingredients: Water, Cyclopenta-siloxane, Clycerin, Butylene Glycol, Peg-32, Alcohol, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Poly-acrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Sodium Polyacrylate, Dimethiconol, Hydrolyzed Soy Flour, Acrylates/c10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Protein, Methylparaben, Dimethicone/vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tromethamine, Sorbitol, Chlor-phenesin, Laureth-7, Faex (Yeast Extract), Tetrasodium Edta, Algin, Phenoxyethanol, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Carbomer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cellulose Gum, Polysorbate 20, Artemia Extract, Fagus Sylvatica Extract, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3, Mica, Cl 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), Cl 77491
For me that doesn't mean a lot as it's just a lot of chemicals but you may know what they are all I know is that I have sensative skin and it is combination skin, dry in some places and greasy in others so I have to be careful what might irritate my skin when I'm buying a beauty product.
This was alright for me even though it has lots of chemicals in the ingredients I found that it wasn't irritating and didn't leave my skin red and blotchy like some products I have bought and had to be thrown away.
To use the facial mask you just have to make sure you have the time to do so, I unplug the phone when I am having a facial as there's nothing worse than relaxing to chilled out music with your face mask on and then the phone ringing as instinct just makes you jump up to go and answer it, so unplug the phone and get relaxed, lay the mask over the face with your eyes closed and put some nice calming music on.
The facial mask will feel cold and damp at first but you will soon get used to it.
You can then let your mind wander and feel the moisure sinking into your skin.
The end results are quite visiable as you have to leave the facial mask on for 10 to 15 minutes but don't worry if you fall asleep like I have done one time and left it on for 35 minutes as it still won't irritate your skin.
Once you have removed the mask from your face, rinse your face with warm water and look at the texture of the skin, it looks smooth and bright. There are no red blotches and it looks more supple and bright, it will feel soft and smooth and feel tighter and fresh like it can breath.
I really do like the way this works and relaxes you at the same time and if I could afford to buy it again sometime than I will as it is such a good product but at the moment it is only the price that lets it down, so I won't be buying it again just for that reason.
It is going on my christmas list for this year though as maybe I will be lucky and someone will club together to get me another pack.... fingers crossed.
Happy to recommend this .
