I was given this Guinot Gentle Face Exfoliating Cream as a freebie from a friend who was using me as a guinea pig for her work as a beautician, I generally do not go in for all the fancy creams, lotions and potions designed to make us beautiful but what the hell, it was free.
Exfoliating gets rid of dead skin, prevents pores from becoming clogged and generally makes you feel much cleaner than washing with soap and water alone.
So does this cream work? Well yeah it seems to, my skin felt very soft and smooth after using this and I could definitely tell the difference from the before and after swabs she took from my skin.
My friend assured me that as well as being tough on dead skin it would be very soft on my live skin and would not cause dryness or irritation and again I can now vouch for that too.
My skin showed no sign of a reaction to this cream and my skin is generally quite sensitive.
I have just got off the phone to her and she has told me that had I had to pay for it, a tube would have cost me around £16. Would I have paid that for it without having tried it? No! Would I pay that for it now that I know it works as well as it does? Yes!
There are more than 10,000 Guinot appointed Beauty Salons and Spas through out the world with professional beauty therapists offer expert care for your skin, it is a well known and highly respected skin care supplier. Even though I have always been a religious Elemis user I have recently, due to a salon I worked in been using a lot of Guinot products. Don't get me wrong, I still love Elemis but Guinot have some fabulous products, this being one of them.
Why use it?
An essential step in a skin care program is exfoliation. Exfoliating smoothes away dead skin cells, prevents clogged pores and reveals a layer of fresh new cells. Regular exfoliating is the secret to a radiant and healthy complexion.
Guinot Gommage Grain D'Eclat is a Gentle Exfoliating Cream which removes dead skin cells while restoring natural protection through the plant oil microspheres. This is an extremely gentle exfoliator and can prepare the skin for optimum results from complementary products such as creams, serums and masks, as this opens the pores it enables these to get deep into the skin and really work.
Because of its very gentle effect this product can be used on any skin type - oily, dry, sensitive, combination. I suffer from ecezma on my face sometimes, and this can occasionally sting if it is bad, but most products do anyway. It is a facial exfoliating cream but can be used on the whole body. If you have dry skin exfoliation is a must, it removes all the dead skin cells and removes any dead skin debris left on your skin and blocking up your pores. Unless you exfoliate, when you put cream on, it is going no where as it can't absorb correctly into the layers on the skin, it just sits on the surface.
This exfoliator is used with water on a damp face and gently circled in, then rinsed off. It is a creamy, rich looking exfoliator with small gentle beads in. Although it is gentle, it still does the job well, and you can definately feel the beads, not scratching but in a good way, it's nice to know they're there. It doubles as a face wash too and cleanses your face nicely at the same time. This exfoliator is mosturising and does not dry out your skin due to its content of microspheres of jojoba, while the skin is gently exfoliated, the microspheres release the jojoba oil to instantly moisturise and protect the skin. This product can be used however much you like but it is recommended that you use it at least twice a week. Because it is so gentle it can be used daily if desired. The exfoliator has a refreshing and fruity smell due to the content of jojoba oils.
The tube looks very similar to the old one, the layout of writing is still the same and it is still the same shape and size. The only difference is it is a white tube rather than pink and it has white, red and gold writing. The tube looks professional and minamilistic, it looks worth paying the money for.
This product costs about £15.50 from salons, depending where you buy it from. You can also buy Guinot products on websites such as www.lookfantastic.com, so I would recommend shopping around. It is quite expensive but you only need to use a small amount so it lasts you a few months.
I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an effective exfoliator who doesn't mind paying that bit more for it.
