Advantages: Absorbs easily, nourishes the skin

Disadvantages: Expensive for what it is

Before we jetted off last year on our summer holiday I made sure that I had stocked up on all the skin care essentials ranging from sun care cream, after sun and even lip care. One item I knew I'd need would be a decent body lotion or body butter because the sun combined with the sea can be quite harsh on the skin and team it together with my dry skin I just need a little help keeping it incredibly smooth and hydrated.

I took advantage of the Boors 3 for 2 offer on their sun care range and managed to receive the Hawaiian Tropic Lime Coolada Body Butter as my free item with it being the cheapest. Now at £10.49 it isn't exactly cheap but I definitely felt that I'd got a bit of a bargain despite my sun creams were around £22.00 in total but it was certainly nice to get something quite expensive for nothing as lets face it I could quite have easily opted for a much cheaper item!

== The Coolada ==

The Hawaiian Tropic Lime Coolada Body Butter is made by the well known sun skincare brand 'Hawaiian Tropic' and although I knew they had plenty of after sun products and sun creams I didn't know their range expanded to body butters and this is what this product is classed as.

The Lime Coolada Body Butter has a formula made up of a somewhat tropical variety of ingredients being Aloe Vera, Cocoa, Mango and Shea Butter, Avocado Oil and Vitamins A, C and E. Which when combined altogether give a formula which is incredibly rich and moisturising. Hawaiian Tropic advise that it is a 12 hour moisturiser which is great especially for those like me who need a cream that will last.

== Packaging ==

The Hawaiian Tropic Lime Coolada Body Butter comes in a very distinct bright lime plastic tube which is circular in shape and really does stand out from the shelf. It features the Hawaiian Tropic logo, product name and images of flowers which combined with the bright lime green colour do make it feel a little tropical. The product can be found next to the sun skincare products which is where it is in Boots.

== In Use ==

The Coolada itself is a very very pale green colour which is lovely and has a very thick, almost whipped consistency which makes it easy to scoop out of its tube and apply to the skin. It's fragrance is incredibly creamy but not overly sweet making it actually quite yummy! It does have vague hues of lime as well as a subtle pina colada type fragrance which is really quite nice.

The Coolada does as I have said quite a thick consistency but it is actually quite light to the touch when you have started applying it to your skin. Because it has shea butter in which melts up warmth/skin contact I find that the body butter does soften instantly on the skin and is easily rubbed in and absorbed despite it's initial thickness as I did wonder how easily it would be absorbed. However, the key with this is a little does go a long way as applying too much will leave you with a sticky, greasy residue to the skin.

The Coolada does absorb easily into the skin and whilst it doesn't leave a greasy residue (as long as you don't apply too much) you can definitely tell you have applied it on the skin but it does leave your skin feeling incredibly soft. Over the course of my two week holiday I did use it religiously every day and my skin did feel incredibly soft for what seemed like hours upon end and by the last day of my holiday my skin looked incredibly moisturised and nourished.

== Overall ==

Due to the Coolada giving such good results I have continued to use it after my holiday and I am still getting the same results which is great. Despite it being scented it hasn't irritated my skin whatsoever and instead keeps my skin feeling incredibly smooth and soft. Because I only apply a small amount each time I have found my tub has lasted quite some time - around 6 months so far which given it's expensive price has definitely given me value for money (despite it being my 'free' item from Boots!).

Without a doubt a definite recommendation from me but I would suggest that you find it on offer or get it as part as your 3 for 2 in Boots as it is expensive for what it actually is and therefore I can only give it 4 stars.
