Jergens Naturals Skin Firming body moisturiser

I have started a new healthy eating and exercise regime for the New Year (as most people do) and have also decided not to buy anymore toiletries until I have used up what I have already. I bought Jergens Naturals Skin Firming body moisturiser from Home Bargains a while ago and it cost £1.99 for a 200ml bottle. This is cheap as Tesco sell it for £5.00.

I am familiar with the Jergens brand as I used Jergens Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning body moisturiser when I was pregnant and I liked the way that it made my skin feel, so bought Jergens Naturals Skin Firming body moisturiser to tone and firm my skin as it is a little saggy in places. The moisturiser comes in a 200ml tube, so the lotion is squeezed from the bottom.

Jergens Naturals Skin Firming Body Moisturiser contains 96% natural ingredients, it claims to firm skin in two weeks, visibly firms' cellulite prone skin and contains Pomegranate extract which is a highly effective anti-oxidant that improves and maintains skin's elasticity. All products in the range have been dermatologically tested.

This moisturiser is white and thick in consistency. Jergens claims that the moisturiser absorbs quickly, but I disagree with this statement. This is not one of those moisturiser's for lazy people. You will need to use quite a bit of effort to rub this stuff into your skin as it is thick. Be prepared to take quite a few minutes working this into your skin and waiting for it to dry. Maybe it tones up your skin and firms cellulite because you are rubbing your skin so vigorously, you are dispersing your cellulite around making it less visible!

I don't have sensitive skin, but when applying the cream I notice that my skin briefly turns pink. I am not sure if this is because I am rubbing it in too vigorously, or whether it is the benefits of the Pomegranate extract to improve and maintain the skin's elasticity. It does subside after a minute or so and my skin colour returns to normal.

You can easily tell when you have used too much, because it makes your skin turn white and will leave your skin feeling clammy. Even when the cream has been rubbed in well, you will need to wait around 5 minutes before getting dressed otherwise your clothes will stick to you.

You definitely need to use this product for longer than 2 weeks to get the full benefits; it is only after this period do you start to see the noticeable effects on your skin. It has made my skin feel slightly firmer/tighter and it is a good moisturiser, so your skin will look visibly healthier and will feel smooth.

I don't tend to study my bum, thighs or tops of my legs in the mirror, but I can't deny that I do have some cellulite. Whilst it is hard to tell if the body moisturiser has improved the visibility of my cellulite prone skin, I do feel that the product works as my skin does feel slightly firmer and smoother/softer.

I prefer to use it before going to bed as my skin feels lovely and soft in the morning. Also, when showering and washing the moisturiser off it does make your skin feel smoother.

Jergens Natural Skin Firming is a body moisturiser; however I have used it on my face. Whilst I haven't noticed the skin on my face has become firmer, it has not caused any irritation or spots.

The main disadvantage of the skin firming body moisturiser is the smell. There are many products on the market which contain or smell of Pomegranate, but this smells nothing like Pomegranate and unfortunately even though I am unable to describe the smell, other than to say it is a sickly sweet smell, it is not pleasant.

Overall, Jergens Naturals Skin Firming body moisturiser with Pomegranate extract gets 3 stars from me. It is a good moisturiser which does slightly firm skin and it is a good moisturiser, but like most things it is not a miracle product (if one does exist). The main disadvantage is that I don't like the smell and when I am wearing a moisturiser that lasts all day, I would rather have a nice smelling one. Having said that, I would only buy Jergens Naturals Skin Firming body moisturiser if it was on offer as I don't think that it is worth £5.00 for 200ml tube.

Other products in the Jergens range include:
Original Cherry Almond Body Moisturiser, Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning Body Moisturiser, Ultra Healing Extra Dry Skin Body Moisturiser, Daily Moisture Body Moisturiser (and a fragrance free version) and Daily Moisture Smoothing Hand and Cuticle Cream.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A lovely affordable moisturiser that I would definitely purchase again.

The Jergens naturals range has been well reviewed online, espeically in video reviews and so I bought the skin firming version to see if it could live up to the online hype! The first point to note was how affordable this was, I paid around £3 for a 200ml bottle which lasted me well over a month (I alternate between using a lotion or body butter every other day).

The cream is housed in a beige coloured tube with a flip top lid at the bottom. This is great as it means that all the product falls to the bottom where the lid is when it is just standing on the shelf, so I never have to waste time trying to shake the product to the bottom in order to squeeze it out! There is an image of a purple leaf on the front of the tube and it goes on to say that this moisturiser contains pomegranate extract and claims to visibly firm cellulite prone skin. The bottle also states that the ingredients are 96% natural, which always ticks a box for me as I do sometimes worry about whether all the chemicals in products could have a negative affect on us!

I have to say, I never really believe products which claim to firm cellulite as the problem is deeper then the surface layer of skin which the product acts upon. If you truly want to combat cellulite its best to use a body brush to try and distribute the build up of the subcutaneous fat beneath the skin, followed by moisturising the skin which can help with giving it a smoother appearance, but unfortunately no cream is going to magic cellulite away. So, in terms of its claim to firm cellulite prone skin, I think it had no effect that would be greater then using any good moisturising product to maintain the healthy smooth appearance of moisturised skin.

In terms of moisturising however, I felt that this product did an amazing job! It is a fairly thin cream which mean it absorbed quickly which is good for those mornings when you may be in a hurry. The cream also has a fruity scent, presumably the pomegranate extract, which makes my skin feel nice and fresh after application. I find that this product leaves no greasy residue or film on the skin, which some cheaper products have been known to do.

Overall, I can see why the Jergen's range is raved about, it really is a great affordable way of keeping skin moisturised and the results when this product is used regularly are consistently great. Despite not living up to its claims to firm cellulite prone skin, I can't say that I was ever really expecting it to so I am not really disappointed by this. I will give this product a 4/5 as I loved it, but guess I can't really give it a five without it meeting all its claims I suppose!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A cheap moisturiser that is good for daily use abroad

I like to use a variety of moisturisers and when I went on holiday recently I wanted something cheap that I wouldnt mind getting lost or taking it around with me.

This product by Jergens naturals is about £5 in Boots for 200ml and it claims to use 96% natural ingredients. It is also good for skin that is prone to cellulite and I definately have an issue with this on the back of my thighs. I didnt notice anything happening to my cellulite although I was not doing a lot of exercise on holiday and this probably didnt help.

Its not tested on animals and is made in the UK so its quite an environmentally friendly company. I didnt know this until I bought it though.

It has pomegranate extract which you can definitely smell just from opening the lid. Its a squeezy tube so just pop the cap open and squirt a bit on your hand. Its very gloopy and I made the mistake of using too much the first time as I thought I would need a lot for my dry skin. However this is not the case and I was left a greasy mess, it wouldnt sink in for ages and I ended up having to wash some of it off.

If you use the correct amount it does blend into your skin well and leaves a light fruity smell. Its not overpowering and the smell doesnt last more than an hour if your out and about and sweating a bit! I did need to reapply in the evenings but this may not need doing in the UK or where the weather is cooler.

I wouldnt use this all the time as I like products that leave a nice smell behind for a while. Its now sat in the cupboard waiting for the next holiday.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Great product, worth trying.

I recently read a review on Jergens skin firming moisturiser and decided to give it a go. I often read reviews, and always believe what they tell me. This often leads to disappointment. However, with this product I was pleasantly surprised! It sinks into your skin quickly and is not greasy at all. I've been using it for a while and think my skin is now a bit firmer. Apart from that, it smells lovely and is 95% natural ingredients. So, as well as doing me good, I feel I'm doing my bit for the environment too. I always used to feel that moisturising after a shower was a bit of a chore, but this product is so lovely to use I look forward to it! It's not the cheapest moisturiser on the market, but I think it's comparable to premium brands that cost a lot more. It was recently on offer in Sainsburys so I stocked up. It is available in most supermarkets and chemists, so there's no reason not to try it!. You certainly won't be disappointed.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            A really lovely product

I usually like to try and use top brands of skincare such as Decleor and Elemis but the costs of these are so much that I simply cannot afford to splash out £20 for a body moisturiser. So I popped into my local Superdrug and spotted this product from Jergens for £4.99 and thought I'd give it a try having never used the brand before.

This moisturiser is stated to be a skin firming moisturiser which apparently helps to firm cellulite-prone skin in one use. It's main active ingredients are pomegranate (an antioxidant), aloe (skin firming properties) and white tea (an antioxidant). It also contains
"Jojoba Seed, Soybeans, Cottonseeds, Sunflower, Palm kernels, Grape seeds, Aloe Leaf, Green Tea Leaves, Greater Celandine (Tetterwort), Dog Rose". One of the main things that struck me about the product is that it contains 95% natural ingredients - a rare thing for a product of this price. Preservatives make up the remaining 5% of the product however these are paraben, mineral oil, phthalate and petrochemical free and the product is not tested on animals. Moreover, for those concerned about the environment, the product has a low carbon footprint as it is manufactured in the UK so hasn't spent weeks on a freighter to get to you.

So to begin, the 200ml tube has a flip top cap and you squeeze the cream out. The cream is white in colour and has a nice thick but smooth consistency. Instantly you get a wonderful smell of pomegranate which is very light, fresh and fruity. I love the smell of it as it really does smell very natural and not at all synthetic. It's not a sickly fruit smell, it's very delicate but noticeable. The cream rubs in very well and sinks into the skin quickly. It doesn't leave you feeling slippery and sticky. Once it has sunk into the skin, your skin looks and feels soft, plump and moisturised with the delicate fruity scent lingering too. It's such a summery scent and would be great as an aftersun if you kept it in the fridge on a hot day too.

Now the skin firming part I kind of agree with as it does leave your skin feeling hydrated, but don't expect wobbly bits to stop wobbling through it! Let's face it, no cream is going to do that! But it gives your skin a lovely sheen so it look firmer than before you applied it. The cellulite reducing part I am not so sold on as no cream is going to get rid of cellulite either! But the antioxidants will certainly help you along with excercise to reduce it's appearance so in that respect I'll make my peace with the claim!

The cream is really quite rich too but not heavy so you don't need to use a ton of it to cover yourself! Once a day is enough to feel the effect all day and you don't feel the need to reapply.

So, would I buy this product again? Absolutely! As I've said before, the smell is delicious and I love the results I get from the cream so much so that I think this will be my new staple moisturiser. No more rip-off creams for me thank you very much. At £4.99 a pop, I think this cream is remarkably good value and I would recommend it to anyone. 'Nuff said!!

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

An excellent choice of moisturiser which smells lovely and firms skin (but is no miracle worker!)

I first saw this product when I saw Jergens sponsoring a TV programme I was watching. I'm always trying out products claiming to 'firm' skin, so thought I'd look out for it next time I was at the shops. I bought the product for £4.99 from Waitrose. The first thing I noticed about the moisturiser is the gorgeous fruity (but not overpowering) smell left on my skin after applying. It left my skin feeling extremely soft and well moisturised after application. After three or for applications I did feel that my skin felt firmer. The only negative I have to say about this product is that it didn't last very long, but that was perhaps because I was a little too generous when applying. At £4.99 this product is not at the top of the price range when compared to other skin firming moisturisers, and definitely worth every penny - even if just for the gorgeous smell. Those who are a bit conscious about what they are putting on their skin will feel comfortable that they not harming their body with any nasty chemicals, as the bottle states that the product contains 96% natural ingredients. An extra bonus! Soon after buying this product Jergens moisturisers had an offer on at Waitrose, 2 for £5.00. I have bought another bottle of skin firming, and a cocoa butter one which I would also thoroughly recommend.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Definitely recommend this one. I can't imagine anyone using it and not liking it.

Jergens Naturals offers an excellent range of moisturisers for the body.

What's so great about them is the fact that 96% of the product consists of natural ingredients so you really know that this is doing your skin good. They are also not tested on animals which is always nice to know when choosing a product. They are paraben free, made in the UK and dermatologist tested.

Retailing at just under £5.00 for 200ml, they're not the cheapest on the market, but by no means are they the most expensive. The quality you get with these is far worth paying that little bit extra for. It really doesn't feel like a bog-standard moisturiser when applied, instead it feels a little more special.

The product comes in a cream coloured tube which looks very natural also. The cream itself is white in colour and quite thick in it's consistency which makes it feel quite rich and very moisturinsing.

It's very easy to apply. The smell is just divine so using this everyday is hardly a chore. You can smell the product as soon as it is squeezed from the tube. It's a sweet fruity scent but quite subtle them absorbed into the skin. It also absorbs very quickly so you don't have to wait a while to get dressed if you are in a hurry.

The skin firming one from this range contains a pomegranate extract and claims to "visibly firm cellulite prone skin". The pomegranate extract is present to provide an antioxidant that improves and maintains elasticity. The product also claims that it will firm the skin after just two uses.

Thankfully I don't suffer from cellulite but I use this in a bid to keep things firm for as long as I can.

After use, my skin does feel indredibly soft and moisturised and is left with a nice sheen. I have actually noticed that it has improved the look of my skin making it visibly smoother and more even.

Other moisturisers from the range include, Age Defying, Ultra Hydrating, Total Nourishment and Cocoa Butter.

                Advantages

                Disadvantages

Combine with exercise for great results

I brought this cream as it was on offer in Boots. Its the first time i have seen the brand & thought it looked quite good after reading the label.

The smell of the cream is very nice & not to overpowering. So if you want to use it in the morning you can still wear perfume without the 2 smells clashing.

I used the cream whilst i was trying to get fit at the gym for my holiday. I used the cream both in the morning & at night, after showering. Because i was trying to tone up i also body brushed every day before getting in the shower. I noticed a difference in about 2 weeks. My skin was definetly more firmer & also a lot softer. It also cleared the little bit of cellulite i had on the top of my legs.

I do think the cream is great if you are exercising & drinking lots of water but i havent used it without doing this, so please take note.

The tub lasted me around a month when using twice a day. Which i think is very good value for money, especially with the results i achieved.

Jergens dont test on animals so i think this is also a great resaon to buy the cream :)

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

This is an excellent skin moisturiser but don't expect your skin to be firm in 2 weeks of using it.

I used some products of Jergens and I loved their effect on my skin. Jergens Natural Skin Firming Moisturiser is new to the market so I decided to give this one a try.

The moisturiser comes in a soft-squeeze tube. It has a flip lid located at the bottom of the tube so I find it really easy to get the lotion out. The lotion is rich and thick and it is not runny so I can open the lid without being too careful that I may waste some of the lotion though the lid is at the bottom of the tube.

Jergens Natural Skin Firming Moisturiser is made of 95% natural ingredients and it contains Aloe, Pomegranate and White Tea. The product promises to firm skin that is prone to cellulite in just 2 uses.

The lotion's scent is so pleasantly mild that it doesn't overpower the scent of my perfume or even my mildly-scented cologne. It doesn't feel or look greasy on my skin. It is quickly absorbed by my skin and it moisturises immediately upon application. I can't see any visible mark when I run my finger through my skin even after 8 hours of application.

I have been using Jergens Natural Skin Firming Moisturizer for more than 2 weeks now and there's only a little left of the lotion in the tube. It promised to firm skin in just 2 uses. However, I haven't seen its 'firming' effect on my skin yet. Some testified to its effectiveness but I haven't noticed my skin to be more firm and toned. Perhaps the result varies from skin to skin. But I can say that it has efficient moisturising effect. For the price of £4.88 (200ml tube), this lotion is an excellent skin moisturiser. Whether it keeps its promise of firming my skin or not, I'll still purchase another tube when my tube becomes empty as it provides excellent moisturising effect on my skin.

                    Advantages

                    Disadvantages

                    Great product

I was looking for a nivea skin firming product I'd seen a fantastic review about on Dooyoo. However, neither in Boots or Superdrug could I find it. So I began looking at the alternatives in Boots. My eyes fell on this product from Jergens Naturals. I was first attracted to it because the packaging looked nice and it looked to be a quality product. There was no price underneath it but I decided to take the risk and took it, along with my other purchases to the checkout. I was pleasantly surprised when the assistant scanned it, it cost less than £2.50 for 200ml! Bargain in my eyes, especially if it worked! The product usually retails at about £5 but I caught it on a special offer.

The cream is in a tube with a flip lid at the bottom. I like this design as it means none of the cream will be wasted. The packaging is predominantly cream in colour with a purple leaf. The other Jergens Naturals products have a different coloured leaf, allowing you to see easily the difference. The tube tells me that the product contains 96% natural ingredients-a godsend for someone like me who has sensitive skin. I'm also told it visibly firms cellulite prone skin.

The back of the tube also gives me more information including that it firms skin in just two uses and it applies smoothly, absorbs quickly and lasts all day. It also tells me the product is made cruelty free, it is dermatologist tested and it is made in the UK so it has low carbon miles. Fantastic I thought, so was eager to try it.

The directions are very simple: use daily, smoothing evenly all over body. So getting out of the shower I applied it to my legs as this is my problem area. The cream had a really nice smell, sort of fruity yet it was not overbearing and instead was subtle. The cream itself was beige in colour and made me feel it was very natural and would not harm my skin. Rubbing the cream in, I found that it absorbed quickly and didn't leave any residue. One thing I will say is that if it is applied to slightly damp skin it will take a little longer to absorb.

So has it made a difference to my skin? I've been using this on and off for two weeks and can see a slight difference. In addition, my skin feels far softer and much more moisturised. Therefore I think this product is worth buying.

                      Advantages

                      Disadvantages

                      AMAZING!

I am always on the look out for new products, to add to my already huge collection of Body Care, Hair Care, Skin Care collection, and I've seen recently, a lot of advertising about Jurgens products, in magazines, TV and from friends, but never thought of buying it until I tried it from a friend, as Hand Cream, which it works well as! And I thought it was really good, so I thought I'd buy myself some, and see if it was a as good for my body as it was for my hands.

Jurgens Naturals Skin Firming Moisturiser is made from 95% of Natural ingredients, which means the Moisturiser will be kind to my skin, which is unusual for Moisturisers, as most are made with chemicals, which aren't always kind to skin, but Jurgens is made with Pomegranates, Green Tea Leaves, Sunflower and Grape seeds, and also Olives, which sounds very yummy! And the actual Moisturiser was light and smooth, not like some Moisturisers, which can be quite harsh, and the Moisturiser applied very easily on to my skin. After applied, my skin felt pretty hydrated and soft, and it smelt really nice and fresh, sort of Natural smelling, it was a really nice smell, and really unique compared to other products I've used, which have a kind of chemical, fake smell to them, which is always a bad thing, but Jurgens is defiantly a more beautiful smell.
Personally, I used while my skin is abit damp, and it massages in the skin much easier, and smoothes out quickly, but only use a small bit, I used about a 50p sized blob, maybe abit more if doing lots of parts of the body. I used it on my worse bits and bits of my body I hate the most, my arms, legs, stomach and thighs, but I have noticed it does work well as moisturising for dry hands too.

Jurgens claims to make skin more firmer after 2days, so the advert told me, and honestly yes, it does, but the firming up, isn't very obvious after 2 days, but I did notice a change, which I was extremely happy about, as my stomach felt more toned and didn't feel so wobbly, and after around a week, I began to notice actual more firmness, although it will take awhile for obvious changes, but to be honest, I'm mega happy with the results so far. It makes me feel much more sexier and even added to my lacking confidence, which is a big thing with me.

Overall, I think Jurgens Naturals Skin Firming Moisturiser is amazing, it really it is! It makes my skin toned and much firming after only a couple of days, it is a miracle product. Also it smells delightful, makes my skin soft and smooth, which is a big advantage to an already pretty great product! If you don't have Jurgens already, come on people buy it now!

Jurgens Naturals Skin Firming Moisturiser is available at Boots, Superdrug and most Supermarkets, and cost around £4.88, but as it is a new product, there are many offers for Jurgens products.

                      Advantages

                      Disadvantages

Great smell, great moisturizer and great for the environment too!

                      Jergens naturals skin firming moisturizer!

                      *The brand

Jergens naturals was created in America in 1901, and is Americas best selling body range. Jergens natural moisturizers are used from top hollywood stars to top make up artists, all over America. But it is made in the UK. All of their products are made using the best natural ingredients available! With ingredients including, Pomegranates, Olives and Avocados. And they are made from 95% completely natural ingredients!

                      *The product

I saw this product in tesco the other day and it looked and smelt really amazing! Im always a bit sceptical about body moisturizers and creams, as you don't know if they actually work, especially anti aging creams, which in my opinion, cant really stop aging!

The Jergens naturals skin firming moisturizer is made with pomegranate extract, which is a really effective antioxidant that makes your skin more elastic and toned. It says on the bottle that it can make your skin firmer in 2 days, but it didn't for me. I used it daily for about a week before i started to see any reasonable results, but it did actually work, my skin was more toned and firmer, you can really see and feel the difference, with in a week!

To use just massage gently into skin. I have found that it is best used when you have just came out of the shower and your skin is still a bit damp, as it will lock in more moisture! It is animal cruelty free, paraben free, dermatologically tested and it is make in the UK - low carbon miles! Which is great for the environment and your carbon footprint! It was £4.88 at boots, which is slightly expensive for a moisturizer, but it was worth it!

Overall it is a great skin firming cream that actually does what it says on the tin... bottle! It is absorbed really easily, lasts all day and it really firms your skin - even though it is not in two days (in my case). But a great moisturizer and well worth the money!

Thank you for reading my review, I hope it was helpful! :D

                      Advantages

                      Disadvantages

Long awaited for! A low cost, natural product that actually works!

This moisturiser is AMAZING!!!! I bought it on a complete whim after reading a 'bikini beautiful body make over' style article!! The article suggested different things to make you fabulous depending on how long you had and Jergens Firming lotion claimed to work within 2 DAYS!!!

Of course I wouldnt be as stupid as to believe that (!) but curiosity killed the cat and for £4.88 for 200ml I thought it had to be worth a go! .... I am now totally converted!

It is made with 96% natural products, the 3 key ingredients are : pomegranate- to reduce free radicals and improve and maintain elasticity, Aloe to moisturise, cool and firm and white tea to fight inflamation.
Jojoba Seed, Soybeans, Cottonseeds, Sunflower, Palm kernels, Grape seeds, Aloe Leaf, Green Tea Leaves and Dog Rose are just a few more examples of the type of things that go into this moisturiser. As you can imagine with all of these lovely natural products the lotion smells divine, very fresh.

You are clearly directed to use daily, all over the body and it claims to visibly firm cellulite prone skin!..... AND IT REALLY DOES!!

I was very excited after using this as I had tried many other products in the past. Fortunately I do not suffer badly with cellulite but certain areas are definitely not as smooth and toned as they once were!

Its not a miriacle worker and like anything you should be realisitic with the results you want a moisturiser to achieve but on areas that were mildly problematic the moisturiser worked straight away and I could instantly notice a difference. On tougher areas there was a definite change, just not so quickly, but after continuous use you really see and feel the benefits.

The moisturiser is very intense and you can feel your skin being treated! It absorbs easily and is not greasy. It feels very luxurious.

Other things that make this product better than others are... its cruelty free, paraben free, dermatologist tested and made in the UK therefore low carbon emissions.

Its so hard to find a negative with this product- the only thing I can think of is some of the other Jergen creams come in a smaller size- easier for travelling etc but I have not seen the firming one in anything other than 200ml yet!

For a product that actually works I think £4.88 is a bargain!! smells great, feels great and makes you look great!!
