Im normally a Johnsons fan, religiously using their face wipes and body lotions for as long as I can remember. When my normal face wash ran out I turned to my trusted Johnsons in hope of finding the perfect product. I chose the Johnsons 3in1 refreshing face wash over the exfoliating one. Probably because the bottle was more attractive to me. Its a turqoise blue squeeze tube that fades to clear with a baby pink flip cap lid. The writing is clear, in navy blue and pink and with the Johnsons trademark at the top. On the back is a short, concise set of directions along with the ingredients. There is also a short paragraph on what this product can do for you. The flip cap lid, designed to prevent mess, I find more of a hindrance than a help. If I open it the way it is designed the facewash just comes spilling out and I end up with a load of waste. Instead I have to open it upside down, trying as hard as I can not squeeze it to maintain some sort of control over it! Its definitely not easy to control how much to use. The facewash is a clear, thick gel with a clean, fresh scent. When rubbing it into my face, it just seems to slide all over the place feeling quite slimy and doesnt lather up at all. This could be due to the fact that it contains no soap but it says on the back it lathers! The product claims to 'Clense, Tone and Refresh'. Honestly I felt none of this after using. My skin felt tight and sticky and not as clean as I had hoped. I use mine before bed to help remove some of the days make-up which it definitely helps with but it often leaves me with dry patches, especially on my chin that I then have to smother in moisturiser. This product is at a good price though. Normally Johnsons are at the higher end of the market but this retails at £2.99 in Superdrug. Overall I was pretty disappointed by the product. Maybe my expectations were too high but it definitely didnt do what it said it would and didnt really do any of the stuff i think a face wash should!
-Introduction- Johnson's 3 in 1 refreshing facial wash ''cleanses, tones and refreshes''. It comes in a 150ml squeezy type bottle. It is gel-like and soap free. The bottle is a baby blue colour, fading down to baby pink at the bottome, with a standard pink lid. It has the typical Johnson's style logo and a picture of pink bubbles on the front. I picked this up in Morrisons once when it was on offer. I think Johnson's tend to be on the pricey end of the products, but are well known for quality. -Positives- The smell is very fragrant and feminine. It has a smell similar to most hand creams, that flowery smell. It's very pleasant. The product is gel-like and clear. It is quite thick and feels expensive. The product really does leave your skin feeling refreshed. The gel-like product slides easily over the face and leaves skin feeling radiant. Its great for those early morning wake-ups! The design is lovely and quite a lot more feminine than other similar brands I think. No more uniform colour and simple white block colour. This has lovely blue and pink hues. It is great at removing make-up in the shower/sink. -Negatives- However, ALL this product does is to refresh skin, it does not tone and cleanse skin as the front of the bottle says it does. Really I think I would be better to 'refresh' with soap, for the price of these kind of products! AS the product has no exfoliating element and no soap, it really does not cut through the grease. Not for everyday use, its just not effective as a facial wash. As it contains no soap, it is literally impossible to get the product to lather, most of it ends up down the plug hole. I end up just smearing it over the face and not really working it in. The squeezy bottle doesn't really seem to work that well, when I open the bottle, without squeezing, the product immediately leaks out. It means I waste quite a bit! As the design doesn't have one of those rubber bits inside, which stops the product coming out when you've finished squeezing. -Conclusion- This is a really useless product, in my opinion. Yes it smells and feels nice but is a total waste of money. It doesn't really work. You would be better off saving the money and just using soap!
The bottle itself doesn't particularly stand out, but it's worth finding this product! A tropical looking blue tube, with a baby pink lid. It's definitely cute and girly, and the writing is very clear and easy to read. The smell, as it says on the tube, is refreshing. It's not overpowering - but who wants to make their face pong of fragrance?!. The wash itself is quite runny, and you don't need to use that much as it really lathers up once you apply it. Therefore the bottle does last quite a long time. It feels smooth and gentle on your skin - so for those with sensitive skin this product is worth a try. Your skin is left feeling noticeably smoother, and definitely refreshed. My skin also stayed clearer when using this product, although my skin is generally clear most of the time. I think this is definitely a product worth considering for facial wash. It's one of the better kinds I have used. It treats your skin without being harsh, and has a light, but noticeable scent.
I bought this by chance as the shop I bought it from had run out of my usual facial wash, and I was pleasantly suprised. I have been using this product every morning and night for about a week now. It has a very nice fresh smell when you open the bottle and it lathers up nicely, meaning a little goes a long way. It's very easy to use and left my skin feeling really soft and refreshed, even after just one use. My skin is also quite sensitive so it's good for people who want a nice basic face wash that's not harsh on the skin. I will probably continue to use this product in place of the old one I used to use (Simple) as it's generally just a nicer product. I have also tried a few of the other products in the same range, such as the facial wipes and I would also recommend these.
