I love the Johnson's brand, they are always gentle products for the skin and always a good quality. I am not really loyal to any brand of facial wipes. I tend to either choose which ever are on special offer at the time, ones I have tried and like quite a lot or ones which I haven't bought in the past. These are ones I have bought a couple of times in the past.
They come in a pretty baby pink plastic packet, which has a pull back plastic strip. The strip is easy to pull from the packet and press back down again to keep the wipes nice and moist. I find when I take them from the packet they are not too wet and are just nice and moist. They have a really soft texture to these ones and feel super on the skin and don't scratch it. They also feel really soothing too and cooling on the face.
They have a really nice pleasant smell to them and I can detect the smell of a new born baby scent which is a beautiful aroma and one I adore. The smell isn't too strong and just a slight smell for a facial wipe.
They are quite strong wipes and I find they don't rip or tear while using them, they are comfortable wipes to hold in the hands too and can get a good grip of them to cleanse the face. I love the way they just glide across my skin to remove dirt and I don't have to scrub my face with them because the wipes do all the hard work. They feel super soft on the skin and I find they feel really cooling too and recently I used them to refresh my skin while outdoors in the sunshine and since the day happened to be quite hot, I found they just cooled my face a little during the day. I think they would be ideal wipes to take on a picnic or going out for the day and to use just to refresh the skin until you arrive home. Also I think they would be ideal for using on the little ones to cool them down a little on long journeys in the car etc so that they feel a little more comfortable.
They claim to remove waterproof mascara too, I have removed my mascara using the wipes and I gently just place a wipe over my lashes and very gently rub the wipe over my lashes, the wipes gently dissolve the mascara and remove it slowly. I tend to just keep rubbing my lashes inside a wipe and I can feel the mascara being remove by the wipe. The wipes I find don't irritate my eyes but I do take really good care not to rub it too hard against my eyes and this way I find they don't irritate my eyes at all. The wipes are really gentle and also enriched with essential skin loving vitamins and minerals, so they protect the skin and sooth it really well and are gentle for conditioning the lashes while removing the mascara.
These don't irritate my sensitive skin at all. I find also that they do leave my skin feeling soft and although I do have very dry skin, they do leave my skin feeling quite soft and don't leave it feeling too tight etc. I do find I always have to use a moisturiser after cleansing with these wipes but that is only because my skin is so dry. I also find they have that tingly feeling on my skin, I do have a slight tingle feeling but I find most wipes have this tingly feeling after I have wiped my face using most brands. But the tingling is only slight and a pleasant feeling.
They do remove my make up really well, they remove my foundation, blusher and lipstick perfectly. I know they do a super job of removing it because I can definitely see the dirt on the wipes after using them. I generally use up to 2 wipes for the amount of make I wear, I don't wear too much make up so 2 is well enough. If I use them on a day I haven't worn make up I can get away with just using one wipe, they remove the dirt and grime perfectly and I am surprised how dirty my skin is sometimes even on make up free days and I do thoroughly cleanse my skin morning and night time. I use them just to cleanse it before using my favourite cleansers.
These wipes are of a very good quality. There are 25 wipes in the packet and a good amount for just over £3 for the pack. I think this is a good value price and worth the money.
If you are looking to buying gentle wipes and ones which leave the skin feeling soft and clean, these wipes would be worth giving a go. I am really happy with the way they cleanse my skin, remove my make up and the way they don't irritate my sensitive skin.
They are designed for normal skin and although I have very dry skin, I have found them to be really nice ones for drier skin too and are ones I will buy again in the future.
I give these wipes 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
Over the years, I have tried most brands of cleansing wipes but keep coming back to this brand.
They are on offer in Tesco's and Superdrug at the moment selling for £1.52 per 25 pack.
Normally they sell at £3.05 or more which is quite pricey so it pays to stock up when they are on offer.
The wipes come in an attractive pale pink pouch with a resealable tab to lock in moisture and according to the blurb on the back they are: "Enriched with essential, skin loving minerals and vitamins, our wipes gently sweep away makeup and impurities whilst caring for normal skin. Skin is cleansed, soft and refreshed. Dermatologically tested, suitable for sensitive skin."
I can vouch for the sensitive skin bit. Its maybe why I keep coming back for more as I get no irritation from this product what so ever, and my skin can flare up at the slightest irritation.
I also really like it as its the best way of removing wateerproof mascara without dragging the skin around the delicate eye area. Removes every last trace.
Wipes are ideal for taking with you if you are travelling and they don't dry out the skin.
I have a little tip to make these go further, though if you wear a lot of make up, it might not be so practical.
I tear each of the 25 sheets in half which gives me enough to remove mascara and a quick sweep over rest of face.
Double the value ! On full price that works out at roughly 6p a wipe and when on offer roughly 3p a wipe.
I'm certainly happy with that and won't consider any other brand in future.
I have always used Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser to clean my face. However, to remove my make-up I tend to use facial wipes. I went through a stage of using Johnsons baby wipes as to be honest because I wear make-up every day I go through that many wipes I thought I'd save the money using just baby wipes that are only a pound for 64.
After realizing though how rubbish they are at removing make-up as whenever I cleansed my face afterwards I noticed a lot of make-up on my cloth. I realized if I didn't have time to clean my face with a wet wipe and then wash it with my cleanser I would still have make-up on my face. It's no fault of Johnsons; it's my own fault for using baby wipes for the removal of make-up haha!
Anyway, I purchased proper Johnsons facial wipes because they were on offer for £1.25 for 25 wipes at boots. They are normally £3.29. When you think about it, it can be quite an expensive ordeal if you use them for removing make-up everyday when paying full price.
The facial wipes are called: 'Johnsons Daily Essentials refreshing facial cleansing wipes' The packaging of the wipes is nice and simple but attractive. The wipes come in a nice baby pink packet and mention that the wipes are for 'normal skin' and 'removes even waterproof mascara' which is definitely an advantage as waterproof mascara can be a nightmare to remove with the normal facial cleansing wipes.
The wipes stay moist in the package and are kept this way by been sticked down in the packet like most wet wipes. Due to the wet wipes coming in a pack of 25 it means unlike baby wipes it is less heavy to carry around, as it's pretty compact and handy to carry in a handbag. The wipes are a fairly normal size, enough to remove all of your make-up without going for a second one. Trust me I wear all make-up products! My skin feels very soft after using them and really refreshed like the product promised.
After removing my make-up I then cleansed my skin using muslin cloth and my Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser, I was very pleased with the results, as there was no evidence of make-up on my white muslin cloth. So clearly very good at picking up make-up if you purchase the wipes for this reason.
I really do like these wipes, but I really don't think I would bring myself to buy them because of the price. If they were always £1.25 I would. But there not, I spend far too much on my actual cosmetic products to want to spend anymore on wet wipes. So one thing I will be stingy on is them. I do think they are fantastic quality and do make my skin feel great but at 13p a wipe it does seem steep when I use them all the time. Looks like I will still be on the look out for some more cleansing wipes.
I will give the product 4/5 simply because I couldn't bring myself to give it three stars because most people probably wouldn't find the wipes to be expensive and its only because of me not willing to fork out on cleansing wipes that I'm complaining! Haha ok I admit it!
About The Product
Johnson's Daily Essentials Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes are a pack of 25 facial wipes, they are in a pale pink plastic packaging with the usual peel back cover.
The packaging has lots of information regarding the product and I quite like the design which is very in line with the Johnson's brand.
My Opinions & Experiences
I often work late and often have to rush in the mornings, me and my fiancée generally buy these for a quick wash or to freshen yourself up, she also uses them when removing makeup.
We have tried many different brands and find some become rather dry or less effective even after a short period of time, with these as long as you keep the peel back cover sealed will last a lot longer. I don't use them every day so having some that last a while and keep fresh is always a bonus. I usually use them more often during late nights while working, if feeling tired using one of these alongside a good coffee goes a long way to improved productivity, occasionally I will use them in the morning while in a rush.
The wipes are thick and as I have mentioned stay fresh meaning they keep quite moist but not too much which is good. They always pull out one at a time, in the past we have had issues with others coming out in twos or sometimes getting stuck, but these are just fine.
I find them very soft on the face and neck and it leaves the skin feeling tingly and very clean, the skin dries fairly quickly and they leave a certain scent, can't describe it really, just a clean refreshing scent.
To summarise I find the wipes very good, they clean and refresh my skin quickly, they last a good amount of time and when on offer are a real bargain.
I use wipes most days, they are a quick and usually effective way of removing makeup so easy to use so I can get on with my nightly cleansing and toning regime as soon as possible. I have tried a variety of different brands as they feature on special offers quite regularly, one brand I've used is Johnsons.
Johnsons daily essentials refreshing facial wipes are available to purchase from supermarkets and places such as Boots, Superdrug and Wilkinson. They vary in price depending on where you buy them but the average price is around £2.50.
The wipes come packaged inside a pretty pink plastic packet, as most other wipes do. The usual Johnson's information is available on the packet. There is a pull back sticky tab that you open to reveal the hole to pull the wipes from, once you've taken a wipe out you can stick the tab back down to keep the remaining wipes in the packet nice and fresh.
One wipe comes out of the packet at a time which is a pleasant change, I hate it when you pull a wipe out and lots come out at the same time but that doesn't happen with these. Each wipe, whether it be the first from the packet or the last, has the same moistness level. Johnson's have got this level perfect as they aren't dry in the slightest but at the same time aren't dripping wet. The wipes are quite thick and I can use them unfolded without feeling like they are going to tear or break when I'm rubbing them on my face.
I use these to remove my makeup at night and find they do a great job. It only takes one wipe to remove my normal day to day makeup without any problems. After using them they do leave my skin feeling clean and fresh. I usually cleanse and tone after removing my makeup, but on lazy days I do just use the wipes and leave my skin like that. When waking up in the morning after just using a wipe the night before, my skin still feels nice and clean.
I'd definitely recommend these refreshing wipes from Johnson's daily essentials range. They remove makeup easily, clean my face well and the packaging keeps all of the wipes moist until you want to use them.
I generally tend to use whatever face wipes I find in my local Poundland or on offer, currently I am using both clearisil and Oil Of Olay wipes I picked up but prior to that I was using these Johnson's 3 in one as they were stocked in my local Poundland at the time although I haven't seen them in there in a while. I have seen these in both Boots and Superdrug for around the £3.50 mark, personally I would never pay that for a pack of face wipes but each to their own.
I quite like the packaging of these wipes, the tough plastic is a very pale pink colour very representative of the Johnsons brand with a peel back sticky label however I do think the label is very busy with information and design on there and it could be more effective if it was a little simpler. The sticky label if very effective, I have found that the label sticks back down effectively and doesn't become loose and not useful during use.
The wipes themselves are lovely and thick and moist but not too wet, I also found that all of the wipes are sufficiently moist and don't dry out or become soaked the more wipes you get through which is good. The wipes come out of the pack one at a time and I haven't found any problems with the wipes tearing or becoming stuck which is beneficial. The wipes feel smooth and cooling against my skin and I don't find them to be rough or irritating.
To use I simply wipe over my face both morning and night. In the morning this is simply to refresh my face but in the evening I use them to remove my make up. I find that in the morning my face feels refreshed and clean but not tingly or dry which some wipes do, in the evenings I find my make up is removed a little easily however I do find that it takes quite a while to rub off all of my mascara and eyeliner, definitely a lot less effective than other face wipes I have used. I do find that one wipe at a time is sufficient enough to remove all of my make up.
As there are 25 wipes per pack I find that one pack of these wipes can last me two weeks which is the average length of time a pack can last me. I find that my face dries very quickly after using the wipes which is perfect for me as I don't have a lot of time to be removing make up and waiting on my face drying. I do find that my face smells lovely and fresh not a perfume smell just a very clean refreshing scent which fits well with other Johnsons products.
Overall I think these wipes are pretty good, they remove make up although mascara and eyeliner does take a little longer to remove, my face is left feeling clean and fresh and the wipes themselves are thick and soft. I would recommend using these if you can get them on offer but I wouldn't say they are worth the £3.50 price tag they generally come with.
I normally use No7 facewipes as I almost always have one of those £5 vouchers from Boots, but recently I ran out of wipes and had no vouchers, and there was no way I was spending £7.50 on one pack of wipes so I went on the search for an alternative.
After looking through the different brands and offers in boots I decided to go for Johnson's as its a well known trusted brand, I regularly use their moisturiser which I love, and they were on a decent offer at 3 packs for £5. As they are usually £3.49 for one pack I decided this was a bargain and got three backs, one of each different kind they do.
The wipes come in the usual plastic packet, which in this case is pale pink and white, and has the usual sticky peel label behind which is a hole for you to pull your face wipes out of. These wipes are for normal skin, and are soft to touch and feel very smooth on your skin. They remove make-up really easily which I was very pleased about as this is what I mainly use wipes for. My face feels very clean and refreshed and cooled afterwards which is good, and they dont leave my skin feeling greasy or anything afterwards which I find quite alot of wipes do.
You get 25 wipes in a pack, so depending on how often you use them depends on how long they last. You only need to use one even when your using them to remove make-up as they remove it easily and they are quite thick aswell. I tend to only use them when i've had make-up on throughout the day, which isnt too often so I find they last me quite a while. The sticky re-seal label also stays sticky so it re-seals well and your wipes stay moist and fresh for a long time.
I would definitely recommend these to anyone - especially when they are on offer!
I have tried quite a variety of facial wipes over the years with varying degrees of success. I like to try different ones to see if I can find a relatively cheap wipe that works well for me.
The packaging on these wipes looks more like a baby wipe than a face wipe to me. I tend to be attracted to clean and fresh looking packaging, greens and blues, because it gives you a good idea of what to expect from the wipe. Pink says baby to me more than adult face wipe but it doesn't make all that much of a difference if the face wipe is good. The sticky seal on the packaging is sticky enough that the wipes are kept moist and don't dry up. The pack is also a nice size for travel and storage, I like to keep mine in my night bag (it has moisturiser, toothbrush, lip salve etc.) and then I can just throw this in my travel bag if I go away somewhere short notice.
The wipes are huge! I've never actually found a wipe before that is so big and it's great for me because I often run out of space on the wipe when removing my eye make up. They are also really moist the entire way through the pack, even the first couple of wipes. I often find I can't really use the first wipe or so because they have often dried out but these are wet the whole way through meaning maximum use. They remove my make up really easily, even waterproof, and leave my skin feeling soft and clean. The wipes have a really lovely texture to them too which is great as this is one of the things I often find difficult with wipes. I don't like textured wipes with raised bumps or a pattern, they scratch my skin and leave it feeling raw. These wipes are super soft and gentle on my skin which is really nice. I also find with other wipes that once my skin has dried it tends to be quite dehydrated but not with these wipes, they leave my skin feeling lovely and soft.
These are by far the best wipes I have ever used but there are a couple of things that stop me from buying them regularly. They are expensive compared to other wipes on the market and you don't get very many in the pack. They cost roughly £3.15 from most retailers which is pretty much double the price of most other wipes available out there. They are also rarely on offer which makes them less appealing than other brands and supermarket own which go on offer regularly. There are also only 25 wipes in a pack which means you pay roughly 12p per wipe. This is so much more expensive than a lot of other wipes on the market and I can't quite justify paying that much for these ones despite how good they are.
Overall, I would recommend these wipes but only if you have the extra money to spend.
I ran out of face wipes recently and I had always used Boots No7 Quick Thinking wipes up until I did, as whenever they have the £5 No7 voucher promotion on I always just buy the wipes with it, as I like them and they would be far too pricey if buying without the voucher! As they do cost £7 usually, I didn't want to buy them at this price and so looked for some other wipes to buy instead. I don't usually use Johnson's products but as these wipes were on offer in Sainsbury's I decided to give them a go. I use my wipes mainly to remove make-up and so when I saw these are meant to remove even waterproof mascara, I thought they would do the job. I know a lot of facial wipes don't actually remove make-up very well, even if they say that they do, but I noticed some wipes by other brands didn't even state that they are meant for removing make-up.
There usually cost £3.49 and are available from Boots, Superdrug and supermarkets. I bought mine from Sainsbury's when they were half price so I paid £1.74.
The packet is pink and these wipes are meant for normal skin, which I consider myself to have. They do have other wipes available for different types of skin too though, these being dry, combination and oily skin.
The packet has a sealed sticker on it that you lift off when you want to remove a wipe. The seal remains sticky and I have had no problems with the wipes drying out or anything. There are 25 wipes in a packer and so how long they last really depends on how often you use them. I have had these for a few weeks now but I don't use wipes everyday, only when I am in a rush to remove make-up or if I simply cannot be bothered to cleanse, tone, and moisturise separately, say after a night out. Otherwise, if I do use my bottles of cleanser and toner, I do not use the wipes as well as my make-up has already been removed and my skin is feeling fresh enough!
I have found that using these wipes alone leaves my skin feeling very fresh, although I do still moisturise after using them sometimes. As I don't use these everyday I cannot really comment on how they improve my skin over time, other than the fact that they leave my face feeling fresh and clean at the time. They do an excellent job at removing make-up though, which I am glad about as this is what I mainly bought the wipes for. If using before I go to bed, when I wake-up there is no need to remove any traces of make-up.
Even after a night out and I have worn lots of make-up, it does a great job at removing it all and the wipe does not break or tear apart whilst using it, even when scrubbing my face quite hard with it!
I will certainly consider buying these wipes again when I run out. I am just looking out for when these are on offer somewhere and I will stock up then, although £3.49 is quite a reasonable price for a pack of 25 wipes still.
After about 2 years of using these wipes, and trying others intermittently, I have come to the personal conclusion that they are some of the best on the shelves and I'm sure many others would agree.
These wipes are perfect for freshening your face at the begining or end of the day and do not dry your skin out like many of the other facial wipes on offer to us consumers. They are gentle, with a gentle fragrance and can be used for make up removal around the face and eyes. I use them for this purpose and they work better than some of those advertised as 'make up removal wipes' and are alot gentler on the eyes and skin.
The packet is brilliant as if the resealable opening is stuck down after use, the wipes never dry out and it is plastic and small so easily stored in a cupboard or handbag without taking up too much room like other firm plastic wipe containers.
The only negative about these wipes is that if you are prone to getting greasy skin, they can make this worse but when used simply as a make up remover, this is not an issue.
Overall these wipes are brilliant and ever so handy in the bathroom or on the go and I totally reccomend them to anyone who is looking for this kind of product.
After running out of my normal face wipes, my friend was popping into town and asked if I needed anything. I asked for some wipes (not actually telling her which ones to get) and she came back with Johnson's facial cleansing wipes.
I had never actually used these wipes before so I was curious to see what they were like. My friend bought them from ASDA for me, and they cost £3, for a pack of 25 wipes. For me, this seems a lot more expensive then how much I would normally pay for a pack of wipes.
The packaging is quite simple really. It's a white packet with a sticky label on it, which you peel back to pick out a wipe from the hole. On the packaging it tells you a bit about the wipes, it tells you it 'removes even waterproof mascara' its '100% perfume free' it's 'fragrance free' and it also tells you it's for 'all skin types.' On the back of the packet it also tells you the ingredients and what the wipes do.
Now a bit more about the wipes itself, on the back of the packet it says 'Enriched with essential, skin loving minerals and vitamins, our wipes gently sweep away make-up and impurities whilst caring for all skin types. Skin is cleansed, soft and cared for. Dermatologically tested, suitable for sensitive skin.' To me this sounds perfect, as I have sensitive skin. I also have dry skin, so I was hoping that these wipes wouldn't dry my skin out more.
When I first used these wipes the first thing I thought, was that they were quite wet (in a good way), I hate wipes that are really dry, as I find that they don't work as well when taking off my make-up. As these wipes were quite wet, they felt very refreshing, and nice on my skin, they did leave my face a bit damp, but that didn't bother me.
I also felt that these wipes were very very good at removing ALL of my make-up, I sometimes find that after using wipes if I wipe my face on like a towel, then some leftover make-up will be on the towel, but that didn't happen with these wipes at all, it got rid of every single last trace of my make-up, even all of my mascara, I was very pleased indeed!
These wipes claim to make you skin feel 'soft and cared for', they did make my skin feel cared for, as I felt all my make up was off my face, however they didn't make my skin feel much softer than normal, but I wasn't bothered by that, as I don't really see how wipes can make your skin softer anyway.
A few times after using these wipes, my face has seemed quite red, however a few minutes later the redness has gone. The reason I think sometimes my face has come across red, is probably that I am wiping my face too hard with the wipes, so I think it's more my fault then the wipes!
After using these wipes for about a month, I can happily sat that nothing bad has happened to my skin, such as a break out in spots. Also they were gentle on my sensitive skin, and they didn't dry out my skin.
Although I have really liked these wipes, I don't know if I would buy again, simply because of the price. As I've already said, £3 for a pack of wipes seems quite expensive to me, however if they were on offer or something, I would definitely purchase them again.
I have used so many different brands of face wipes and dont get me wrong I have come across some amazing ones which do a lovely job ( Wilkinsons 2 for a pound are the best! and so lovely, and great for if your on a budget! ) then I came across these beauties!
So compared to my 50 for a pound they are a bit expensive, around £3.00-£4.00 for 25 wipes and you can get these in Boots, its where mine are from.
The packaging is simple and just like most other face wipes.
They come in a white plastic square little pack and have a peel back sticker on the front, make sure you reseal after taking out a wipe though as they will more than likely dry up.
On the sticker is the Johnsons logo along with a picture of a feather, some information on the productand underneath that on the actual pack is the amount of wipes which your pack contains.
If you turn around the pack you will see lots more information which can be very useful if you need to know ingredients/contact details/recyclable ect.. Its wrote in a few different languages too so hopefully there is one for you to understand.
Just incase you would like to know what kind of skin I have, how much make up I wear ect..I will write it down! I have quite sensitive skin, which is also quite dry at times but it can also be really oily too!
Because I suffer from acne I also wear a lot of make up, I'm talking 3 layers of foundation which usually takes around 2-3 wipes to completely remove and make sure there is none left on my skin.
The wipes are enriched with skin loving minerals and vitamins so obviously this tells me that they are good for my skin.
The wipes claim to gently sweep your make up away, including your eye make up so no need for separate lotion/wipe.
They cleanse your skin leaving it feeling soft and silky and cared for, these wipes are suitable for those with sensitive skin.
To use them just simply peel back the lid and take one out, like I said though make sure you reseal.
The wipes are quite a good size and are also very thick which is a bonus as they dont tear and rip on my skin, they also have quite a lot of moisture in them and they dont smell of much since they are fragrance free.
These wipes were amazing, they took away my layers of foundation in a single wipe and there was no harsh scrubbing or rubbing either, just one or two swipes across each area and my face was make up free.
I think because they are also so wet it helps too if you wear a lot of make up, dont get scared because I am saying they are very wet! They glide over your skin easily and dont leave any excess damp on your face, its very quick drying.
I think having the wipes so wet is a great thing because it does get to work on your make up and provides a great amount of satisfaction, your face also feels moisturised and cleansed.
I find that on eye make up these are probably the best wipes I have used for them, the mascara doesn't need attention really, if you just wipe over your eye area its completely gone.
After a few uses I notice my blemishes have calmed down a good bit and I also notice a good glow in my skin, I have cut back on moisturiser as my skin doesn't seem to be getting as dry anymore which is a great thing, I am also using 1 wipe instead of 3 so I guess I am kind of saving money in one way.
I love these and recommend you try some! NOW!
These wipes are something that I am never without!
*** Packaging ***
Johnson's Daily Essentials refreshing cleansing wipes come in a little soft plastic pachet with a resealable label on the front. You simply peel this back and pull out one of the wipes. This works well most of the time, but sometimes you do end up with an extra wipe being pulled out too. I usually just shove it back inside the little opening in the package and use the resealable labe to close it over. this ensures that the wipes stay moist and fresh. The packaging is great for travelling and they always go into my case or a bag even if I'm just going to a friends over night. They're tidy, convenient and take up hardly any space.
*** The Wipes ***
The wipes feel kind of cottony, they are softer than baby wipes and wet ones. I should also state that none of these products should EVER be flushed down the toilet!
The pack contains 25 wipes. They are often on buy one get one free offers in Tesco, Boots etc, so I usually make the most of these offers and stock up, as they can be fairly expensive at times. Prices vary, I've seen them as expensive as £3.79 and as ceap as £1.99, so it works well to take advantage of offers!
The wipes are "enriched with essential, skin loving vitamins and minerals" and "gently sweep away make-up and impurities whilst caring for normal skin. Skin is cleansed, soft and refreshed." (From back of pack)
Johnsons refreshing cleansing wipes have a refreshing scent, unsurprisingly. I can't really pinpoint what it is... they just smell like a fresh cleanser. To be honest, it's not my favorite scent but then, you're not actually buying them for what they smell like! I'm sure you want to know how effective the are. So do the do the job?
*** Effectiveness ***
They do indeed do the job. I wear lots of black mascara and they take it off no problem. With some other wipes, you have to really scrub at your eyes to take of mascara and not only is this bad for the delicate eye area, it is also time consuming and usually leaves your eyes sore and still with some residue! Not the case with these bad boys! You do have to work a little to get thick mascara completely off, but it's a LOT easier with these wipes than with any other ones I've tried.
They also take off foundation very very easily and you only need one facial wipe to take off your whole face of make-up. They are quite wet in comparison to some other wipes and this helps them to be very gentle on the skin, they do not leave any redness or irritation as they do no require you to scrub at your skin in any way, simply wipe over a few times and you're good to go!
They leave your skin feeling clean and moisturised, which is another plus, as many facial wipes can actually dry the skin out quite badly. After using these wipes, it's perfectly possible for that to be the end of your skin care routine, however, I always follow them with a quick wipe over with a toner and then my night cream.
They are by far the most effective facial cleansing wipes I have used, and because of this, they are generally the only ones I will buy, either in the refreshing, or the night time packs. I highly recommend them. The only one drawback I have found is that, because they are quite wet, sometimes they can leave your face feeling quite shiney, which is fine at night when you're off to bed, but during the day I usually rinse with water after use just to get rid of any residue.
*** Conclusion ***
Highly effective, often good value for money and very easy to use. They are great for all, and a good way to get younger girls into a good skin care regime, as well as being good for the rest of us who just want to avoid sponts, imperfections and wrinkles! Highly recomended!

Leave panda eyes where they belong. On the panda!!
I am normally quite good at removing all my makeup at night but it does take quite a long time as I use an eye make up remover and then a toner and then moisturise and sometimes when I have got in late or I am really tired I cannot be bothered but I know that my skin will be worse for wear if I don't do it. So, with that in mind a few weeks ago I decided to find some make up remover wipes that I could just wipe over my face and be done. I stumbled upon the Johnson's ones and decided to go for them as I use a lot of the Johnson's products on my little girl and I know they are really good for her skin and are a brand I trust.
According to Johnson's these wipes are enriched with skin essentials which gently sweep away makeup and impurities whilst caring for normal skin with skin loving minerals that restore freshness and include vitamin C. The wipes to me resemble baby wipes pretty much to a T. They are made of quite a thin material and are very moist to the touch. even though they are thin though I find them very strong and have never had one tear or rip which is nice. They are extremely easy to use. Basically you just wipe them over your face, neck and eyes and they really do remove make up with only a few wipes. It's really nice, I find I don't have to rub or make my eyes sore by rubbing too hard to get the mascara off, a few gently wipes and it comes right off and it also feels like it takes all the excess mascara off my face too by capturing it in the wipe. You can see all the makeup on the wipe when you have finished with it. These wipes even say that they take off waterproof mascara too and although I don't use this type of mascara it's nice to know from another consumers point of view that it will do this.
Also it really takes off my foundation and powder well and my face feels clean and make up free which is great as I hate that heavy feeling like you still have product on your face. I find after using them my skin is actually nice and soft so I think as well as taking makeup off your face it also leaves a nice feeling on your face too.
Another good thing with these wipes is that they are very gentle too and even if you do get some of the wipe moisture in your eyes by mistake, which I have done from time to time, it does not sting or cause any irritation which is great.
The wipes come in a pack which looks exactly like a pack of baby wipes. There is a resealable sticker at the top which peels back to allow you access to the wipes. They have always stayed quite fresh under this flap for me and do not dry out. There are 25 wipes in a pack and I find this probably lasts me for about a month as I don't use them everyday and sometimes use two per time. A 25 pack will cost you £3.05 and they can be found in Boots stores.
If you've read some of my previous reviews you'll know that when it comes to skincare, when I find something I like I'm very brand-faithful and rarely stray to try something different. However, about a year ago I was looking to add some face wipes to my skincare routine, so I felt confident picking up a pack of Johnson's Daily Essentials Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes from Tesco, as they are made by such a reputable brand.
The wipes which I use are for normal skin, which come in pink packaging. Johnson's also offer Nourishing Facial Cleansing Wipes for dry skin (blue), Balancing Facial Cleansing Wipes for combination skin (green), and Fragrance Free Facial Wipes for all skin types (a kind of pinky peachy colour). I have only ever used the wipes for normal skin, so will base my review on these.
Each pack contains 25 wipes, and they can currently be bought from Boots for £2.99, or two for £4. They are also often on special offer at Tesco. Although you may find other brands of wipes are cheaper, these are good quality. However, I also feel that for the price they should give us a few more wipes per pack. I use one each morning and one each evening to remove my make up before I go to bed, so each pack lasts me less than two weeks. Even if they did double packs I think that'd be better - I suppose it explains why so often they're on special offer!
On to the wipes themselves...
They're fairly large in size, which is very practical. I haven't measured them exactly, but if I hold one over my face it can almost cover the entire surface of my face. Not that I make a habit of this, you understand... ;)
The size of the wipes is great, as after a long day at work when I come home to take my make up off, it's big enough to wipe up all of my make up without getting clogged up. With some wipes they're so small that it gets to a point where they end up just moving make up around your face, but there's no such problem with these!
Regarding the removal of make up, they claim to remove even waterproof mascara. I can't comment on this as I don't own any waterproof mascara (it's on my Christmas list though!), but these wipes do easily tackle ordinary mascara. I have no problems clearing it all away, and can only presume that they will remove tough waterproof mascara as well.
These wipes are quite wet, which I know is a downside for some people. When I wipe my face with one of these wipes, my skin is left feeling damp and a bit sticky for a minute or two while it dries. Personally, I don't mind this as I don't like drier wipes, and I always leave my skin for a few minutes anyway before applying anything else over the top, but for those who don't like wet facial wipes, you may not be impressed with these.
I will say, though, that the wetness does not last for long. After less than two minutes my skin feels dry and soft, and I experience no dampness, stickiness or tackiness throughout the rest of the day.
As I say, my skin feels softer from using these. It doesn't feel exfoliated or deep cleaned, but my skin does feel lighter and my pores don't feel clogged up at all. Now that I've been using these wipes for over a year I probably don't notice anything exceptional anymore, but I remember when I started using them and I was surprised and impressed at how my skin was left feeling smoother, firmer and cleaner.
The wipes do have a pleasant scent which is very subtle. I can't put my finger on it, but they do smell perfumed rather than of anything natural (Parfum is included on the ingredients list, although I won't provide a full list of ingredients this time). Not ideal, but at least they have a pleasant smell rather than a bad one or no smell at all! The smell doesn't linger on the skin though, which I don't mind, but I know some of you like to be able to smell the products you use all day long.
The only other bugbear I have with these wipes is the packaging...not the fault of the wipes themselves, but they are affected. The wipes come in a packet, with a large resealable peel-back sticker, through which you pull the wipes. After several openings and closings I find that this sticker can lose a bit of its stick, so the wipes can become slightly dried-out, which I don't like. However, when the sticker does stick, it sticks fast and there are no gaps in the packaging at all, which would dry out the wipes.
Overall, these wipes are great for cleansing and toning skin and removing make up. Facial wipes are a staple item in every woman's beauty kit (or at least they should be!) and these Refreshing Facial Wipes from Johnson's deliver everything I expect from face wipes. If you team them up with Johnson's Daily Essentials Hydrating 24Hour Day Cream - which I will get round to reviewing eventually - and use both as part of your regime, they really complement each other and leave skin feeling soft and smooth. They work perfectly for me, so I won't be trying anything else for as long as I can see!
