      Advantages

      Disadvantages

I had to give it 5 stars, despite the price. It is THAT good!

I have only been using the Herbal Recovery Gel for just over a week so far, but I have really noticed a huge difference in my skin already.
I do suffer from sensitive skin and I find that I have to stick to certain facial products (moisturisers, soaps etc.) otherwise my face becomes a red and white map of the world! After being in a hot shower, with lots of steam, I get lots of small red patches all over my face that take about an hour to settle down and are even noticeable through my make-up.
Looking at the Herbal Recovery Gel, I thought herbal ingredients surely cannot do that much harm to my skin so I decided to give it a go and waited for a day where I knew I didn't have to go out - just in case disaster struck! But there were no problems whatsoever! I have since been using it twice a day, and so far the results have been great.

      What Jurlique says...
"A restorative botanical concentrate, infused with a rich blend of herbs and precious plant oils to restore, firm, hydrate and revitalise the skin. Helps to minimise the visible signs of ageing with daily use." They claim it is a product useful for maintaining balance in your skin and it is made from organic products. The back of the box lists many ingredients, including evening primrose, ginseng root, gingko, violet, daisy, black elder, rose hip, grapefruit and more.
      Instructions for use...
"Apply one or two pumps onto fingertips and press gently over face, day and night."

      My experience...
After reading the instructions initially, I decided to try one pump and see if I needed more. I didn't. The pump on the bottle gives a perfect amount in one press to cover my face. I thought that was very good as there isn't going to be much wastage like with some moisturisers or facial serums that come in an average tube. With these I often find myself rubbing the leftovers up my arms or on a towel, which I am not a fan of - I may as well just throw my money away!
The actual product is more like a serum, but quite watery in texture and a little does go a long way. I spread it onto my face but struggled with the "press gently" concept.
Was I supposed to rub it in or just put it on lightly and let it soak?
I have tried both options and both seem to work the same. I suppose by not rubbing it in, you are getting more on your face and less on your hands...?
Either way, it soaks into my skin in seconds leaving it feeling instantly softer and smoother. It doesn't feel greasy and doesn't block my pores and cause spots - which I have found with other serums. It is just instantly soothing.
It has, as is to be expected, a strong herbal scent, with Evening Primrose being the stand out. I wouldn't personally say it is the nicest smelling, but it isn't unpleasant and once applied, I couldn't smell it anyway so that didn't bother me at all.

      Observations after one week...
I have noticed my skin is much softer and smoother - like I have been drinking lots of water and getting lots of sleep - which I haven't! My make-up is going on really nicely at the moment, it seems like the gel has improved my pores and skin texture. I also think the gel in itself provides quite a good base for foundation.
The most noticeable difference, for me, comes after showering. I have noticed a remarkable difference in the blotchiness in my skin that I mentioned above. I still get some of the small red patches, but they are calmer and disappear much more quickly at the moment.
It has only been about a week so I think this is a great result in such a short space of time. It has definitely restored some balance to my skin, as it promised it would. I think I am going to use it from now on, just as a night serum and go back to my regular daytime moisturiser. Just because I think it will still be as effective with one application as it is with two.

      The problem...
PRICE!!! At £45 for 30ml, it is more of a celebrity price tag and something that I could not personally afford to be buying on a regular basis. I received my bottle - which is 15ml - as a free product with a magazine subscription and if it wasn't for this free sample I would never have tried it.
The good news is, I only need to use a tiny amount at a time, so I think it will last me for ages.

      Conclusion...
I would recommend it to people who suffer like I do with problematic skin as I have found it to make a big difference. It makes my skin look hydrated and rested and feels really baby soft! My only complaint is the price. I am now on the lookout for something similar which will give me the same results but at a price I can afford on a regular basis. If not, I think I will have to invest in one for myself, it is money well spent if I am honest. I have already started a very, very premature Christmas list!!
