One thing that I buy quite often are wipes. These are so handy for so many things be it removing a little bit of makeup to cleaning your hands when you've just pumped your car tyres up. These are great things to have around the house or in the car and they come in very handy. When it comes to which ones to buy the choices really are endless. For me personally, I tend to buy the ones that I see on offer when I go down to the local supermarket. Recently these ones were on offer so I bought them, they are the Kleenex Cleansing Facial Wipes.
First of all Kleenex is a name you know you can trust. This is a company that has been round for a long time and they obviously know what they are doing. So I knew when I was buying these that they were going to be of a decent standard. So how do they perform, well they are nice and moist and they do clean dirt away very well. I'm not sure how moisturising they are but they do tend to feel like they are leaving your skin with a healthy shine, so I suppose that is a good sign.
You get plenty of wipes in the packet and they seemed to last for quite a long time. They come out well, when you pull one out it drags the next one out with it so it's easy to pluck them from the packet. They are a good size, not to big and not to small. The smell is ok, I think there are other ones I prefer, this one is quite a light smell and a little floral, but it's certainly not a bad smell.
When it comes to what to use them for, I can say there are lots of uses. A while back we went camping and took these with us, very handy when you have been doing a bbq or messing around in the grass. Ideal for using if you have been to the toilet and not been able to wash your hands for any reason. Also good for waking up to in the morning a wiping sleep from your eyes.
These also come in handy for getting rid of any makeup. I also like to keep some in the car for emergencies. They are handy to have in the bathroom or in the bedroom and they really do come in handy for so many different things. I would not like to be without a packet of these or other similar wipes on hand.
Overall then these are very good wipes. I think there are other versions I prefer over these, but if I saw these on offer again I would have no problem buying them. So Kleenex Cleansing Facial Wipes get the thumbs up from me.
I don't have much of a beauty regime, in fact I'm blessed with pretty decent skin, although get the odd spot here and there. At the end of the day I like to use a facial cleansing wipe simply to remove my day's makeup and grime, and leave my skin cleansed and ready for bed!
I tend to buy whichever wipes I find on offer, and am not brand loyal. Over the years I have tried many, some good and some not so good.
At full price these wipes cost around £3 for 24 wipes. I believe that I bought them on special offer for £1 (I can't remember where exactly), which is what I would usually pay for a packet of wipes. I was particularly drawn to the brand name (since I've been impressed with other Kleenex products, namely their tissues!), and thought I'd give these a go!
These come in pretty usual plastic packaging for wipes, with a label which peels back to make a hole to remove the wipes from. It is good to reseal (and works better than some cheaper brands) and keeps the moisture in well. It is easy to remove one wipe at a time, unlike with some wipes where it can be easy to remove two by mistake.
The packaging is mainly white, with a blue/purple picture of a face mask/fascinator thing with a ribbon, which is a bit weird really. On the back there is a list of ingredients which as you'd expect is long - it also explains the ingredients and what they are for (such as dehydroacetic acid which keeps wipes fresh) which is an unusual touch. Obviously check ingredients first if you have any allergies or sensitivities.
I've been using these wipes now for around a week, since I finished my packet of Superdrug wipes. On the pack it says that these are extra gentle cleansing wipes, quilted to effectively remove make-up, and are suitable for sensitive skin (which I don't have so can't comment on).
The first time I took a wipe out of the packet the corner broke off the wipe, which I wasn't expecting at all. This has also happened on another occasion, so that hasn't particularly impressed me. But mainly my first feeling was surprise at how weird these wipes are. They smell ok (not particularly nice or nasty), but feel really weird. Although they are nicely moist (and not overly so) and thick and remove my makeup (including mascara) effectively (better than some wipes), they have an odd texture, and I don't find it to be a pleasant one.
After using the wipe (thankfully I have found that one is enough), bin it rather than flushing. These wipes as made from ecoform natural fibres which apparently means that they have a lower environmental impact than a standard wipe material.
Other reviews I've read of these wipes have been glowing, but personally I'm not convinced. I think I prefer the more 'normal' feeling cheaper wipes that I'd been using prior to these.
I find the texture and feel of these a bit strange, and don't really like it. However, I can see why other people might prefer these wipes (and actually like the texture), so by all means don't avoid them just because I don't love them! They do work ok as a wipe, but they just aren't my preferred choice, and next time I buy wipes I won't be getting these ones.
3 out of 5 stars from me.
I have been using Kleenex Facial Cleansing Wipes 'Extra Gentle' for a little while now since I first saw them on offer in Tesco for only £1.60 instead of £2.99 for a pack of 24 wipes. I had never seen these wipes before and as I usually buy the cheaper brands I was keen to try these out as Kleenex are a great brand and I love their lovely soft tissues. The first thing I noticed about these wipes as soon as I removed one from the pack was its size. They look and feel so much larger and thicker than my standard Superdrug (or Johnson's) wipes. They feel and look like a really superior wipe and I was very impressed with the look and feel before I had even started to use one to remove my make up.
The packaging is nice. They are presented in a plastic pack with a sticky strip across the top which is easily resealed to retain moisture and freshness. They are advertised as being extra gentle and quilted, and they really are both of these things.
These wipes are just right on the moisture front. Some wipes I have used have been either too moist or just not quite moist enough (the Tesco Basics ones spring to mind, here). These Kleenex wipes are perfect. They also have a really subtle and gentle fragrance to them but this smell doesn't last on the skin for ages after I have used them. They are certainly not heavily perfumed at all and the aroma fades after the wipe has dried on my skin.
These wipes are brilliant at removing every last trace of make up. In fact, if I use these wipes to cleanse my face and then use my usual toner, I sometimes struggle to remove any remaining debris and dirt on my face with my toner at all.
They really do give me a deep down refreshing clean and they are great at removing not just face make up but also all traces of eyeliner and mascara (even waterproof).
The are really tough and strong and have little indentations on them which also seem to gently exfoliate the skin at the same time as cleansing it.
There is no way I could possibly fault these wipes by Kleenex at all. I am really very impressed with them. Unfortunately, they are no longer reduced in price and everywhere I have seen them lately they have been back up to their full price again. However, I like them so much that I'd still be more than happy to pay full price for hem anyway.
I really highly recommend these.
I use moist facial wipes most days, finding they work effectively at removing my make-up prior to cleansing my skin. I am not particularly fussy about which brand of wipes I use, and will often just buy whatever brand is on promotional offer at the time. This review discusses my experiences of using my most recent purchase, the "Kleenex Facial Cleansing Wipes."
I believe these particular wipes are available in some supermarkets such as Tesco and Sainsbury's, however I purchased mine from a local independent pharmacy. The price I paid was around £1, which I thought reflected very good value for money, especially considering there are 24 individual wipes in the package. As @ the time of writing (April 2013), you can purchase six packs of wipes for just under £6, with free postage, from www.amazon.co.uk.
The packaging for the Kleenex Wipes is quite attractive, and certainly eye-catching, thanks to the bright purple design used on the stark white packaging. There is the image of a sort of 'masquerade' eye mask in a purple design, and this appears on the front of the pack, under the name of the product which is also detailed in colours of purple.
As with most products like this one, there is an opening on front of the pack that has a heavy duty sticky label on the front, allowing the pack to be opened and closed easily between uses. I have never noticed any difficulties with using this label closure, nor has it proved to be of insufficient quality, which would see the label losing some of its adhesive, meaning it no longer offers a secure seal on the pack. This is a significant fault I have encountered with some other brands of facial wipe, and I find that a closure of a poor quality will see the wipes in the pack losing some - or all - of their moisture, rendering them useless. In the case of the Kleenex Wipes, the pack's design has proven to be of a higher quality than some of its predecessors, with it remaining firmly shut when required, allowing every last wipe to be used without exception.
The wipes themselves are very thick, and this was evident from the first time I used them. Even removing one from the pack, I am able to tell straight away that it is much thicker than most other brands I have ever used before. This thicker 'material' gives the impression that the Kleenex Wipes are rather luxurious; certainly there is nothing 'flimsy' or cheap-feeling about the wipes' texture. I find that they are perfectly smooth too, being like little cloth 'towels' rather than thin wipes. The surface of the wipes has a little 'dotted' design over them, but this is perfectly smooth and doesn't offer any real 'texture' to the wipes, being more of a design on the wipes instead.
The Kleenex Wipes have quite a noticeable aroma, which is evident even as one is removed from the package. I don't find that the aroma is unpleasant or over-powering, but it is certainly strong enough to be noticeable easily as the wipe is smoothened over my face. I don't find that the scent lingers on the skin after using the wipes which I find agreeable, as I don't really like being aware of the scent of my assorted skincare products after using them. The wipes' scent is quite sweet, I find, being faintly reminiscent of baby powder, but with a stronger, sweeter scent underneath. I find that the scent doesn't feel particularly 'natural' as such, but neither is it off-putting or sickly during use.
The wipes' packaging promises that they are "Quilted to effectively remove make-up" and I do agree with this wholeheartedly, finding the thick, luxurious texture of the wipes removes all my facial make-up easily. I find that the wipes 'glide' easily over the skin, feeling soft and gentle thanks to their softer-than-average 'material' and this is ideal for my own skin that is extremely sensitive. There is nothing at all abrasive or harsh to be found from these wipes, and I can easily use them to remove my eye make-up without irritation occurring at this sensitive area.
I find that the Kleenex Wipes are really quite moist, which allows them to cleanse the skin quite thoroughly. My previous few purchases of facial wipe products have all been much 'drier' wipes, which have required me to rub them slightly harder on my face, to effectively remove all make-up traces, and leave my skin as cleansed as possible. The Kleenex Wipes are much 'wetter', so they will easily clean the face and eye area. It is important to note too, I think, that the wipes are not so wet that they feel uncomfortable or overly cold during use. I find too that my face is not left dripping wet or feeling unpleasant after use, and my skin dries quickly after use, with no tackiness or greasiness left behind.
There is a claim on the front of the packaging that these wipes are "Extra Gentle" and are "Suitable for sensitive skin" and I really do agree wholeheartedly with these claims. I suffer with eczema and dry skin which is quite sensitive and will 'flare' aggressively if overly harsh products are used. I have experienced nothing in the way of irritation or sensitivity during - or after - using the Kleenex Wipes and so I do recommend them for those consumers who, like me, suffer with sensitive skin. I have found too that these particular wipes are not overly 'drying' on the skin, which is quite a common problem I have found with other similar products before. I have found that some brands of facial wipe have actually left my face with an unpleasant 'tightness' that is rather uncomfortable. None of these noticeable side-effects have been present after using the Kleenex Wipes, thankfully, so I do feel that they are a gentle and caring product that is of a very high quality.
I have absolutely no complaints about these particular wipes and in actual fact I have already repurchased them, finding a 'multi-buy' offer available online at www.ebay.co.uk that offered great value for money. I have a few other packs of assorted wipes from other brands to use up in my home but after these have gone, I don't know if I will ever change brands again, finding the Kleenex Wipes to be near perfect for my needs. For the reasons outlined in this review, I feel that this product is more than deserving of top marks in the product rating score.
After seeing an advert for the new Kleenex facial range I was intrigued and fancied trying some of the range out. I picked up this 24 pack of the Kleenex facial cleansing wipes from Tesco, at the time they were on offer for £1 which isn't a bad price to pay for face wipes.
The face wipes comes in a packet with a resealable lid. Surprisingly the lid is quite sticky and I am still able to seal it nice and tightly after about 3 weeks of using the wipes.
I really like the design on this packaging. I know it is not really relevant to the use of the wipes themselves but I love the way that Kleenex have tried to do something a bit different to stand out.
**What makes these wipes stand out?**
*Quilted to effectively remove makeup
*Suitable for sensitive skin
*Made with natural fibres
As soon as you take a wipe out of the packet you will notice how lovely and thick they are. They are much tougher than any other face wipe I have used and feel more like a thin cloth.
The wipes do not really have a scent to them, they smell fresh and clean. I much prefer this when I am using a facial wipe as I like my skin to feel completely refreshed.
The quilted texture of the wipes feels ever so soft on my skin. They are really gentle and do not irritate my skin in anyway.
I have found that the wipes have just the right amount of moisture to them as they are not overly wet but they have a good amount to provide you skin with an effective cleanse.
The wipes work to remove the majority of my makeup but I do have to say I have found it difficult to remove tough eye makeup. The first couple of times I used these wipes I used them the same as I have used other wipes by just sweeping across my eye. First of all I found that these wipes do irritate my eyes quite a bit, secondly as I said tougher makeup is a bit of a problem.
In terms of how my skin is after using these wipes I have to say I think these are one of the best facial wipes I have ever used ad my skin just looks and feels so clean.
**Price and availability**
You can find these wipes online and in various retail outlets priced at around £1.50
I really like these wipes, if it wasn't for the sensitivity around the eye area I think these would be perfect. Don't get me wrong I am able to use them but this is just a slight problem for me. I will be repurchasing these again and I recommend them to you all. 4 stars from me.
When it comes to facial cleansing wipes I usually buy branded ones as cheaply as possible in places like Poundland or a 99p shop. If I have the time I do cleanse, tone and moisturise and then I just use wipes when in more of a hurry.
I spotted these on offer in my local Sainsbury's store costing £1.49 a pack opposed to usually more like £3.00 and noticing they were from the Kleenex brand really wanted to give them a go.
The packaging of these is really nice. The wipes come in a white plastic pack with a resealable sticky strip to the middle of the pack to easily pull out a wipe and on there we are told that they are Kleenex Facial Cleansing Wipes 'Extra Gentle' and that they are 'Quilted to effectively remove make-up and suitable for sensitive skin' and there is a picture on there of a purple and black face mask then on the back of the pack other information listed includes being told that the pack contains 24 wipes and the ingredients are given, we are told that these are better for the environment than other wipes and contact details for the manufacturer are given. Nice, robust packaging this is.
Well what can I say I lurve these wipes, they really are superb quality and typical of what you'd expect from a premium brand like Kleenex!
The wipes are really thick, white and square in shape with little indented holes all each one and the wipes are a really generous size.
The feel of them is really excellent quality and in use they are really soft and strong and don't dry out quickly at all.
They are very damp though not drippy or anything and basically they smell really natural and of fruit oils which isn't a strong scent and once used the scent doesn't linger on the skin.
These remove all my make-up, grease, grime and even dirt! They can tackle my liquid eyeliner, my waterproof mascara the lot without barely any effort at all. These wipes are not one bit greasy but the liquid does have a soft feel on my skin and no matter the make-up I have on I can do it all with only one wipe and without trying to scrub it off.
Not only that my skin feels really fresh after using one and naturally soft but above all....deep down clean and I do suffer with spots and blackheads and this hasn't created any more of those or anything else adverse at all.
All In All?:
Even at about £3.00 a pack of 24 of these I'd buy them! They are simply fantastic quality, robust and not only clean up my face but leave it looking fresher and for me these are the best make-up removing wipes I have ever used!
I am impressed and I advise other ladies to give these a go and at the moment these are available from all good chemists and supermarkets and in plenty of places seem to be offer at the moment.

At the end of a long busy all I want to do is claim into bed, so anything that may speed this process up is certainly worth a try. I would normally remove my make up with some baby lotion and cotton pads, followed with a gentle facial wash, however I would find eye make up actually difficult to get off this way. That is why I decided to give Kleenex facial cleansing wipes a go. You simply peel back the seal and pull out a wipe (the same as baby wipes), the wipe itself is a lot stronger than I thought it would be and has a slight quilted texture. It felt soft on my skin and easy to use. I used one side then turned it around and used the other, it appeared to remove my make up with ease (even my eye make up, you can even get eye make up removal wipes in the same range). My skin felt soft and fresh after, and the wipes didn't cause any redness, even around the eye area, so I would recommend them for sensitive skin. I have to say, I do think they save time, very convenient, no mess and an excellent choice when away from home.
My addiction to mascara and foundation means that I am always on the look out cheap and effective ways to gently clean my face before bed time!
I came across these wipes at a bargain price of £1.50 so I thought they would be worth a try ( I ususally use Simple wipes but these are expensive - probably around £3).
The wipes come in a handy resealable package and are large, thick and dimpled. The wipes are soft and smell fresh - reminded of a baby wipe. I found the wipes effective at removing most of my foundation. But they didn't give me a deep clean feeling and when I tried to rub with the wipes they started to come apart (they have a slightly strange consistency - a bit of a mix between a wipe and tissue paper). So they felt as though they were taking the top layer of my make up off but not the intensive clean I was looking for! Also they were not effective at removing my mascara or eye liner ( I wear too much !) and again when I tried to scrub around my eyes the wipe started to come apart.
As a positive the wipes were totally gentle against my skin and did not irritate at all.
So I was a little bit disappointed, I will stick to my expensive Simple wipes going forward.
I bought these wipes when I saw them on offer for £1.49. I don't think I would have bought them if they weren't on offer as the usual price is £2.99 which I find quite a lot to pay for face wipes, thoguh it's no more expensive than your average pack.
They come in a really nice looking pack which is white and purple. It has a sticker on top that you peel back to reveal a hole where you pull the wipes out of, similar to most wipe packets. I find this one sticks down well so the wipes stay fresh in the pack nad don't dry out.
The wipes are an average size really for a wipe, but they're a lot thicker than any I've used before and feel much higher quality. They're really soft and have a dimpled pattern on them. They are nice and moist so they feel like they're really cleaning your skin as opposed to some wipes that are not wet enough to feel like they're doing anything.
These really do leave my skin feeling very clean and fresh, and they're amazingly good at removing makeup. They're gentle enough to use on the delicate eye area and they remove my eye makeup far easier than other wipes, and I don't have to keep rubbing away which just makes my eyes sore.
Overall I really like these wipes, they work really well and feel lovely, but I still don't think I'd pay full price for them to be honest, I just think it's a lot to pay for a throwaway item like this.
I'm awful at looking after my skin. I have bottles and packets and jars but they tend to just sit there looking pretty. Every few months or so I decide that I must start looking after my skin properly and go out and buy all new stuff...only for it to be collecting dust within a week.
However, there is one thing that I do manage to do a few times a week and that is to use a cleansing wipe on my face. This is for a number of reasons including removing make up, freshening my skin and also to keep my skin less oily than it would be without them.
I am not faithful to a brand and although I have sensitive skin I luckily have never really had any problems with any that I have tried. Last week in Tesco's I was aware my Witch pack of wipes was running out so I decided to look at what was on offer. The best offer that they had was these Kleenex wipes which I believe came out a year or two ago now. I was quite certain I'd read some poor reviews on them previously but decided to give them a go anyway, after all if I didn't like them it was only £1.25 down the drain.
The wipes come in a plastic packet with a resalable plastic cover/tab. The pack is predominantly white in colour with a picture of a masquerade mask on the front. I really like this design as the white implies pureness and cleanliness whilst the abandoned mask gives the impression that these can be used to remove make up quickly and easily - something that I am a nightmare for if I get in in the early hours and I'm tired!
Opening the packet and pulling out a wipe I was immediately impressed. The wipes are really thick and strong which make wiping them over your face and neck really simple and they don't begin to stretch or tear at all. They also have a raised design providing texture which really helps to remove make up and massage your skin making getting all the dirt from the day away quickly and easily.
Some wipes I've had are a bit of a nightmare if you've had a full face of make up and I have often needed 2 or 3 to take my make up off and then in the morning realised that really, I was nowhere near getting it all off! However this is not the case with these wipes. They remove make up quickly, efficiently and effectively and a few wipes over an area with heavy make up on really does remove everything and leaves me with clean skin.
These wipes have also really helped to look after my skin. They leave my face feeling soft, smooth and moisturised and because of this my blemishes that I suffer from have dramatically decreased. They also care for damaged skin - I got a burn on Saturday on my forehead (don't ask) and I've used an antiseptic cream twice, a face cream once and these wipes a few times. The creams I only used on Saturday and Sunday but since then I have been using the wipes and the burns nearly healed which is amazing because I was quite worried it would scar!
These are great wipes for giving your skin a quick freshen up. They require no effort whatsoever so I really do think they are easy to integrate into your routine. They look after skin very well and leave it smooth, soft and moisturised. They also remove make up easily including heavy eye make up and the raised surface on the wipes really helps clean your pores reducing spots.
I paid around £1.25 for these. However, I do think I would pay full price because, for me, they really work. I am very impressed with these!
