The cream can be purchased separately for around £12. This is a bit more expensive that I normally pay for face cream however I do find that L'Oreal products are priced a little more than other brands. It is available from larger supermarkets and high street chemists such as Superdrug and Boots.
The first thing I noticed about this cream was how thick it is compared to any creams I have used in the past, it did remind me more of a night cream than day cream and I was a little concerned that it would feel quite heavy on my face. However as soon as a started to apply, I realised that I didn't need to worry, it glides over my face really easily and even though it is thick, it was easy to spread thinly and a little really does go along away. The cream has a really nice fragrance to it, slightly floral and perfumed which hangs around most of the day which I think is great.
In my opinion, this cream most definitely gives my skin a healthier glow to it and my lines are a little less noticeable. The cream does a fantastic job at hydrating my skin too, I would say that I have combination skin and particularly at this time of the year, it can go a little dry yet since using this, it seems to have cleared up all my dry patches whilst making sure that my t-zone doesn't go into overdrive.
I am sure that my mum thinks I am actually older than I am, last year she gave me a No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Set which is aimed at ladies over 40, this is also aimed at the more mature lady. The fact that Helen Mirran is the face of the brands advertising should have been a bit of a clue for my mum. I am hoping that this is a mistake on my mums behalf and nor a hint anyway. L'Oreal claims that the cream is idea for ladies just before, during or after the menopause.
The gift set I received contained this cream, a pack of facial wipes and some toner, it wasn't until I looked online whilst writing this review that I realised how many products there is in the Age Perfect Range, there are about several different versions of day & night creams along with hair care, hair dyes and body care products too.
I quite like the cream and my skin has looked a lot better since I have started using so this gets 4 out of 5 stars from me.
I have used moisturiser every day for as long as I can remember and have tried almost every brand over the years, however now I am tending to stick to the ones for the more mature skin as I find that I need as much help as I can to keep my skin looking fresh and smooth. L'Oreal do a complete range of day skin creams for all ages and skin types and I bought this Age Perfect day cream for mature skin from Amazon along with other face creams and I paid £6.20 with free delivery.
It comes in a white and gold box which gives you the instructions for use and the ingredients which include soybean extract and melanin block. The jar itself is white with a gold screw top with a domed top. The jar is just 50ml but previous jars of L'Oreal cream this size have lasted me for around three months.
The cream itself is thick and creamy and it feels lovely and silky on your skin. I would describe the smell as light and fresh but it is hard to describe it further than that. It is plenty firm enough to stay on my finger and to dab on my face until I am ready to rub it in. To use I will dip my finger into the jar and then dab it onto my face and neck and then use my fingers to gently rub it in. .You can smell the lovely fresh smell as you are rubbing it in which lasts for quite a while afterwards.
It makes my skin feel smooth and moisturised immediately and you can feel that you have applied the cream although it doesn't feel thick or greasy. I use the cream in the morning after my shower and find that I can apply my make up straight away and it goes on well, especially if I am wearing foundation. Although the cream feels quite thick it does absorb easily into my skin and I only need a very small amount for a good coverage.
I think that a good day cream is essential as it provides a base for your skin, whether you are going to apply make up or not. Since I have been using this cream I think my skin does feel slightly firmer and it definitely looks much smoother and brighter. I think this cream and it really does compare with far more expensive brands which I have used over the years. I would highly recommend this cream for anyone who is looking for a good quality day cream for the more mature skin as it really is a lovely cream to use at an affordable price and I will definitely buy it again.
