What a great buy! After struggling with my skin for a few years and trying just about every brand Boots sells, I noticed this unusually packaged product so decided to give it a shot. I always look for products that contain Salicylic acid due to its ability to break down blackheads and prevent clogging inside hair follicles, therefore the fact this was a focal ingredient of the Loreal product was a major plus.
After the first time I used it my skin felt remarkably fresh. Having really cleaned my face, it also removed the make up I was wearing and took away the shine my combination skin normally has. Moreover, rather than leaving it feeling tight like a lot of other facial washed do, it made my skin feel almost 'zingy'- a great result! The applicator on the front is perfect as well. It has mini beads on it that exfoliate your skin, ensuring the product really gets to your pores.
I can truly say this product definitely improved my skin. Within just one or two applications it looked much better and within a couple of weeks my face had been transformed. Would definitely recommend!
*Why I want the product*
When I have used up a skin wash I like to try a new one, mostly because I believe there is always something better out there without spending loads of money. The reason why I chose this particular product as it has one of my favourite ingredients in called Salicylic Acid.
Cleansers prevent a build up of waste products your face produces, which can build up on the face causing congested, irritated skin. If dirt and grime are left on the skin it accumulates causing blocked pores that lead to blackheads, spots, dull skin etc. The same happens when makeup is left on the skin at night e.g. going to bed without removing your makeup properly, even mineral makeup when they say you can sleep init it is so pure. Yes it might be but you still have to remove it properly.
Over the course of the day dust and pollution goes on your face causing further congested problems without you knowing. A good cleanser at night will help to remove all this, leaving you with clean, soft, beautiful skin. Also a good cleansed face means the products you apply afterwards ensure they work effective. If this isn't done the products you put onto can't penetrate through all the barriers to your skin, thus you wasting money on expensive beauty products.
*What is so special about Salicylic Acid?*
You will find Salicylic Acid in most skin washes that are formulated for blemish, combination skin types due to its healing properties of blemish prone skin. You will also find this ingredient in exfoliants, creams and other skin treatments.
Salicylic Acid helps the skin to exfoliate naturally, it is anti-bacterial also an anti-inflammatory, which means Salicylic Acid reduces redness and swelling of a blemish. Skin will heal faster and less likely to scar and acne and blemishes will be reduced and may even clear completely.
Salicylic Acid is the only Beta Hydroxy Acid also known as BHA that exists for acne treatment. There are different strengths to Salicylic Acid and some people can't tolerate this acid at all, however, in a skin wash Salicylic Acid isn't known to have high amounts to irritate skin but enough to help your skin to heal from blemishes.
*About the product*
L'Oreal say their Perfect Clean Skin Wash's are good for a deep cleansing the skin with the new Scrublet. Scrublet is a soft and flexible cleansing brush that doesn't scratch or damage the skin. Gentle enough for even sensitive skins.
Perfect Clean removes dirt, oil and makeup. The formula is oil free, you're skin is left soft and clean.
*Why have a Scrublet?*
Cleansing your face with your fingers for a first cleanse is good as your fingers can glide over your face easily and get into all the nucks and crannies while dissolving your makeup and you end up giving yourself a little massage, which is great for boosting circulation.
However a second cleanse is recommended and is great to give yourself a deeper cleanse of the skin, the scrublet allows for gentle exfoliation while gently working the cleanser deep down into your pores without being harsh on your skin.
Scrublet's are soft flexible and are known as a cheap alternative to electronic cleansers on the market.
I like L'Oreal's Perfect Clean's packaging, the bottle comes in at 150ml. Refreshing formula comes in a blue bottle with a clear flip top lid, which the product stands on.
The bottle is wider at the top slimming down as it gets to the bottom. The middle of the bottle is cut out for the Scrublet to be stored securely.
The front of the bottle says L'Oreal Perfect Clean Foaming Gel Wash and which formula you have chosen. The back states on a sticker the ingredients and six months expiry date, the sticker also lifts up to tell you how to use the Scrublet.
*Applying the product and using the Scrublet*
I bought Refreshing or Normal to Combination Skin types, I could also use Purifying for Blemish Prone Skin.
Pop out the silicone Scrublet from its packaging and slide between your fingers, or if you find it easier you can always hold the handle with your fingertips. Flipping open the lid and squeezing a small amount of product onto the Scrublet, which is clear in colour I was surprised to see the skin wash was runny and seems really light with a fresh scent that isn't overpowering.
Gently massage the Scrublet it over your damp face, working in circular movements this also helps the skin wash to lather, although Perfect Clean lathered really quickly I liked how the gel wash turned creamy instead of loads of bubbles likes a lot of skin washes. The wash felt really light on the skin and felt refreshing. Scrublet makes it easy to get into all the nucks and crannies as it is flexible and moves with the contours of your features. It was nice to feel the Scrublet didn't feel scratchy or as if it was damaging the skin in anyway.
Removing the skin wash with a muslin cloth was easy with no residue left behind.
After use, thoroughly wash the Scrublet under running water making sure all traces of product is out of the tiny grains. Pop back into the packaging or you can stick the scrublet on tiles or mirror due to its suction cup.
After patting my skin my face felt a little tight while feeling soft.

*What I think about it/do I like it(
I liked how the wash feels light while feeling creamy on the skin without irritating in anyway. The Scrublet is a lovely feature that works the cleanser deep into your pores giving you a deep salon feel cleanse. I love the fact it has my favourite ingredient of Salicylic Acid but I don't like how it leaves my skin tight afterwards.
Scrublet or the wash didn't irritate my sensitive prone skin, but I just feel something is missing from this wash.
*Is there a Perfect Clean for my skin type?*
Yes, you can also purchase Gentle Scrub for All Skin Types, Soothing for Dry/Sensitive Skin.
*Would I purchase again*
I am unsure whether I would purchase again, mostly because I believe there are better skin washes out there even though this is an okay wash.
I had my Pefect Clean for at least four months and I am now coming to the end of it, which makes it very economical as such a tiny amount is needed.
~Can this really give skin the Perfect Clean?~
L'Oreal Perfect Clean Refreshing Foaming Gel Wash is a product that I have used as a daily face wash and whilst it may have been the oddly shaped bottle was the thing that initially caught my eye, I am pleased to say it made me think twice about looking into the range of face wash products offered by L'Oreal. The idea of the L'Oreal Perfect Clean Refreshing Foaming Gel Wash which came with its own little face cleansing puff seemed quirky at first although I soon found the wash easy to get used to and fun to use.
The bottle that my L'Oreal Perfect Clean Refreshing Foaming Gel Wash came in was specially shaped to allow the cute little face puff or scrublet as L'Oreal call it to be stored together with the wash bottle. I feel that this clever and quirky design is a very useful thing, as it means the scrublet that you get with your wash never goes missing as the two items are only separated when you are using the product to wash your face. The shape of the bottle has a space created to fit the scrublet into in the top centre of the bottle and I found it easy to pop the scrublet in and out as needed when I was using this.
I feel that the L'Oreal Perfect Clean Refreshing Foaming Gel Wash had a good texture which made it easy to use the right amount of product with the scrublet. The gel was neither too thick or too thing and gloopy and the fragrance that it had was not overly strong which I liked. When wanting to wash my face I only needed a small amount of the L'Oreal Perfect Clean Refreshing Foaming Gel Wash as it worked really well with the scrublet to give a softly foaming face wash. Although the gel had an aqua blue colour when in the bottle, once on the skin it foamed up to a white toned foam leaving no trace of colour residue on my skin.
~ A little about the 'Scrublet'~
The little scrublet that came with my L'Oreal Perfect Clean Refreshing Foaming Gel Wash was a nice addition to the wash as it had a very pleasing soft yet textured feel to it that worked well when in use. I found that the circular shaped scrublet was soft enough not to scratch my skin, yet it had enough texture to it to massage my skin and exfoliate it a little at the same time as cleansing it. I rather liked the feeling of the material used to make the scrublet as it had a good degree of softness and flexibility when I used it. The front face of the scrublet has tiny bristle like flexible heads all over it that massage the skin when using the wash and the back of the scrublet has an easy to grip holder that means you can use the scrublet with no fear of it flying out of your hand. The massage effect produced by the scrublet is really nice and works well to cleanse your skin.
~Was the wash easy to use?~
I found that the L'Oreal Perfect Clean Refreshing Foaming Gel Wash was gentle enough on my skin so as not to cause any adverse reactions and it managed to leave my skin feeling soft and clean after use. The wash and scrublet together made short work of taking off make up and left my face feeling clean with no need to scrub and I found that I liked the way the product was so easy to use. I feel that what sets this wash apart from other similar face washes is the cute scrublet which really does work well and is both easy to use and store away when not in use.
~Price and rating~
When I purchased my bottle of the L'Oreal Perfect Clean Refreshing Foaming Gel Wash it cost £5.10 and I feel that it was good value. The bottle I had contained 150mls of the foaming wash and the small scrublet was firmly and safely attached to my bottle with a sticky plastic see through information covered pad that kept the bottle and scrublet together before I used it. Since having used the L'Oreal Perfect Clean Refreshing Foaming Gel Wash I have also used the other washes in the range and found them to be good too. I really like the way the face puff and the bottle of face wash perform together and over all I feel that I want to give L'Oreal Perfect Clean Refreshing Foaming Gel Wash a 4 star product rating.
Im reviewing the Loreal Perfect clean face wash 150ml I came across this whilst in my local boots it was on offer for about £2.99 i think and the packaging etc intrigued me so decided to give it ago.
The packaging has the instructions on the back behind the contents list. It gives you details on how to use the scrublet.
It says you should apply the wash to the scrublet but it if you over do it , it tends to fall off before you get it near your face so i sort of rubbed it into the scrublet a little to prevent it falling off. You could apply the wash to your face then use the scrublet if easier though. You do only really need a small amount though.
The gel wash contains Salicylic acid in which i believe is commonly used for spot prone skin and other determalogical conditions.
After using the wash my skin felt very clean, but tight! Although it did feel as if it had decreased the amount of oil on my skin which is probably the main cause of the odd spot!! It lathers up really nicely and isn't scratchy or rough.
There are four different types of these washes available. I have the foaming gel wash- PURIFYING for blemish prone skin. Its surprising that although i had cleansed my face before using this product it still was pretty dirty so it managed to clean better than a cleaner would.
Although the product made my skin feel clean it didnt feel baby soft like some, thats the only real downside though.
I love the way the scrublet feels though, it feels like your giving your skin a deep clean and you could keep this and use it with other products, cleanser, face wash etc or on its own as a light exfoliator on the plus side its really easy to clean it too!
You can also attach the product to a tiled wall, so its handy for me as its always at the sink and you dont tend to forget things when there in front of you.
I have quite sensitive skin and i didnt seem to have any problems with this so overall a good product. I would like to try the soap and glory one next though as its only £4. (will write review for that too)
Going for a new angle on facial washing, the Loreal Foaming range is made up of several different facial washes to cater for different skin types. My skin seems to go from being oily when I am stressed to dry when I am not, meaning I fight an ongoing battle with keeping my skin in check. I have tried all these Loreal scrubs now, this one is the Refreshing wash which is designed to most skin types.
The wash is unique because it comes with a little rubbery pad, which you use to exfoliate the skin with. The benefits of the pad are questionable, as I reckon you could achieve similar results with a flannel, a sponge or even a piece of cotton. The rubbery feel of the pad helps to massage the skin though and this feels pleasant. You squeeze some of the gel onto the pad and work into a lather in circular motions. The product produced a pleasing lather and had a good smell, I would describe it as summery and having an ocean burst to it, so it certainly delivers on freshness.
As you lather the face up, there are microbeads that work into the skin's texture and break down dead layers and unwanted skin cells. You can feel this working, but I would have liked a more convincing scrubbing effect. The product is easily rinsed off with warm water and then you should pat the skin dry.
No immediate after effects to be noted apart from tighter feeling skin. This tightness settles after a while and any redness from scrubbing subsides. I must admit I did not notice much difference in pore minimising, but it did provide a very refreshing cleanse and I felt that the beads were penetrating deep down into the skin's surface. The wash will cost about three to four pounds, which is in line with what I might pay for a Simple or Boots wash, so not bad value.
I have noticed recently that there are a couple of face wash products on the market which include a scrublet in its design, intended to eradicate dirt even from the deepest pores. As I have somewhat oily skin I decided to buy this product because it seemed like it could provide some relief from blocked pores and other such facial woes.
The L'Oreal Perfect Clean Refreshing Foaming Gel Wash comes in a variety for different skin types, so I decided on the refreshing one for normal/ combination skin.
Despite the clear gimmick of the "scrublet" I am fairly impressed with this part of the product because it is very soft and after the first use my face was much cleaner and softer compared to other cleansers that I have used. Also the face wash lathers really well so only a small amount is needed for the whole face. After having used the product for a week i have noticed some difference in my skin.
The main advantage of this product is the scrub part which is very effective but the actual face wash is not overly impressive. However it is a reasonably priced product so I would probably give it another go, possibly with one of the other types to compare.
How exciting to be the first to review this product after having the chance to test it out over the weekend.
L'oreal is a popular well known make and this name along with the price usually equal good quality products in my opinion.
This particular L'oreal perfect clean product is the foaming gel one. It can also be purchased in foaming cream wash which is pink and foaming gentle wash which is light orange in colour.
They retail at about £4.99 in Boots stores and are currently on offer at £3.99.
You can see the shape of the bottle from the picture at the top and it has a flip top lid on the base. It contains 150ml.
What you can't see is where the picture shows the round sticker there's actually a round hole which holds a scrublet!
A scrublet what is that I hear you say. A scrublet is a rubber/silicone scrubbing pad. It has a suction pad on one side so you can hold it and also also you to stick it onto bathroom tiles holding bottle in place. The other side of it looks like lots of bristles which are all soft as also made from the rubbery material.
To use simply wet your face and squeeze some gel onto the scrublet, exfoliate around your face, It lathers up well and gives you deep cleaning into the pores. When finished rinse off your face and pat dry.
I felt that my face was feeling different from a normal wash and did feel nice and soft afterwards too. The scrublet doesn't hurt as it is rubber, In fact it felt quite nice to use. Like I'd just received a nice facial.
The scrublet is washed out after use and simply put back into it's hole in the bottle and stored either on a shelf or suctioned onto the tiles.
Scent wise it doesn't have a set fragrance to name but I felt it smelt like a hygienic smell if that makes sense. A clean refreshing smell.
Being 150ml this won't last too long especially if using daily which I'd like too. It is a bit pricey but being L'oreal you are paying for the name of good quality.
I'd like to try the further two that they make to see if they work the same or have different scents.
