I recently reviewed the Youth Code day cream but felt it was time to review the night version for this cream as I bought the two together. It cost the same as the day cream at the time - I paid around £7 or £8 for it and it was on sale at the time, but it normally retails around the £15 mark. For something that is meant to give me that 'youth code' I did not think this was expensive, especially at the discounted price.
Upon appearance the cream looks like it might be a gel style type of moisturiser, but in my opinion it's better than a gel and feels really rather substantial, in a good way.
The cream is a very light purple/violet in colour and is rather pleasing to the eye. I think it's quite a suitable colour for a night cream as the violet colour is rather relaxing and does in fact remind me of lavender, which is associated with aiding sleep. In addition, I like the smell of the cream. It's feminine without being overpowering and again, I found it has a suitably relaxing scent.
The feel of the cream is also very soft and like I said before it feels really substantial but without being heavy. I think this is the beauty of this cream, in that it does feel like it really moisturises without weighing the skin down. It also soaks in quite nicely. I do spend a fair amount of time rubbing it in and making sure it all absorbs in nicely but actually enjoy the process as it feels rather nice. I also use it on my neck.
And now on to whether it works as a 'youth' cream... I am not sure if this cream makes me look any younger, but it certainly doesn't do any harm, and as a bonus it feels very nice to put on and is definitely very moisturising. I like it so much that I have just bought another pot as the first one I bought is almost finished. I definitely think it's worth the money and it also helps some of the dry patches of skin I have on my face. I recently bought another cream by Loreal (which I'll try and review soon!) and noticed that as soon as I switched, I was starting to get patches of dry skin appearing on my chin and forehead - not attractive at all! And so now I can truly see how good this night cream is compared to some others on the market.
In summary I would say this a fab night cream that I think I'll be re-stocking on for quite some time to come!
