My old assistant manager is really lovely and the other week she asked me to do her a favour and in return she took me for lunch and she gave me a small 30ml sized bottle of this Lancome eye makeup remover. I am quite fond of a little mascara, eyeliner etc so having some eye makeup remover never goes a miss!
- Packaging -
The bottle is a semi-opaque greenish bottle, so you are able to see through the bottle and see how much of the remover remains. Mine has a silver has a screw on blue lid with Lancome engraved in it, so it does look quite premium. Removing the lid, there is an open hole so a small amount of the make up remover actually comes out of the bottle with a small squeeze.
- How to use -
It is recommended to apply a few drops (not a huge amount is needed) to a cotton pad and wipe over eyes to remove make up. This can be mascara, eye shadow, eye liner etc. Then wipe clean, gently downwards.
- My experience -
This eye make up is actually a blue liquid which I was a bit surprised with as all my other eye makeup removers are all clear like water. Nevertheless this is suitable for sensitive skin and I have not had any awful reaction with my eyes stinging which I have had in the past with some others!
It is very gentle and light and doesn't feel like a make up remover at all. Almost feels like I am removing my make up with water! To be honest I feel as though I may aswell have done this with water! I wore some mascara and eyeliner out two nights ago and being quite lazy and drunk I slept with it on and in the morning using this remover it wouldn't budge! I literally used over 4 cotton wool pads and kept pouring it out and rubbing my eyes until my eyes were sore from my own constant rubbing rather than the actual make up remover making an ounce of difference. In the end I was late for work so just gave up and figured I didn't care for the last bit of eyeliner that could still partially be seen!
- Overall -
Seems fair to say I wouldn't recommend this in no way shape or form unless you need a spare bottle of useless blue water. It didn't remove my simple collection 2000 eyeliner and avon mascara so I don't have much hopes for it to do much else! A 125ml bottle costs an outrageous £21 and it is far overpriced. Gets 1 star I'm afraid!
I might be mad, but this make up remover just doesn't float my boat at all. I have to say I was dissapointed when using it!
I loved the packaging of the product the bottle looks gresat with it's friendly blue looking remover inside. I was also reassured by the writing telling me it ws non oily and for sensitive eyes. Brilliant I thought, this is until I actually used it.
I like to use a good branded mascara, lancome dior and estee lauder are my faveourites, however I struggle to get a good remover for them. I found that tthis removcer did do its job. I removed the mascara using a cotton pad with a small amount of the remover on. It took it off with relative ease.
However, I did not find this product non oily at all. I felt like i then had to go and scrub my face to get the oil off! In fact on closer inspection the actual clear blue liquid in the bottle looked a bit oily too. On the packaging it doesn't mention washing your face with water after application, however I could not have left it on. My face felt like I had used a really nasty moisturiser and something was still sitting on their.
I was also dissapointed by the smell of this. I thought the smell reminded me of a disenfectant, defintely not an attrqactive makey smell. I understand that this product is for sensitive eyes so it shouldn't ne laced with scent, but surely something could have been done to chsnge this?
Ok, now some positives. This is great for sensitive eyes like mine, I do tend to rub when I am taking my make up off and other removers have left my face red and stingy. No sign of this with this one. I also found only a small amount was needed for removal, meaning that this bottle would probably last me a long time.
There was nothing special about this remover that would make me pay the shocking £16.65 per 125ml that I paid at debenhams for this product. In fact, I have probably only used it a handful of times because I have been that disappointed with it.
Overall I know others like it but personally I found it not worth it's money!
I have been using plain water and then milk drenched cotton for removing all the eye make up that I use. But lately I started feeling the need to get a good eye make up remover because after all it's the question of a sensitive park of the face that needs proper care.
I was lucky enough to receive the Lancome Bi Facil double-Action Eye Makeup remover in a bonus gift pack on a purchase I made from lancome. This way I was able to try the product that came in a small size before actually buying it.
Although it seemed a little pricey as compared to other brands of eye make up removers, I found it totally worth the purpose I bought it for. It comes in a plastic aqua blue bottle with a twist open white lid. It dispenses in a squirt like motion very easily and can be applied with a cotton ball or cotton pad quite conveniently with gentle motions. I generally take small amounts on a piece of cotton and press it gently on the made up area and swipe it with a soft motion. The make-up removes very easily and it leaves the skin squeaky clean.
I would greatly recommend this product to all you friends there looking for a good eye make-up remover.
I came across lancome's bi facil double action eye make-up remover when i was just browsing at the department store before a trip to mexico. I needed a good eye make-up remover
for all the waterproof eye make-up that i was bringing. I have had many problems in the past with eye make-up removers that took forever to remove my mascara, and left my eyes red, sore, burning, and so uncomfortable that i was forced to stop wearing make-up until they felt better. It was a disaster that i wanted to avoid this time around, and decided that a good quality eye make-up remover from lancome would be a better option from my previous cheaper products. I spoke to the lady at the counter and she informed me that this particular product was gentle on the eyes and would indeed remove my waterproof products. She also told me that it was good for sensitive skin/eyes and contact lens wearers. I weighed the risks but decided to give it a shot, i bought the 4.2oz and $26 US later i was ready to put it to the test.
I began by washing my face and applying 1-2 coats of waterproof mascara, followed by waterproof concealer, eye liner and brow liner. I then reached for my lancome bi facil eye make-up remover and shook it thoroughly as advised by the department store lady, to mix the two liquids in the bottle because they both work together to remove make-up. I then got a cotton pad, i suggest not to use a cotton ball because its best to use a larger cotton pad in order for it to cover your entire eye. I then squirted a generous amount of the remover onto the pad and place in on top of my closed lid and pressed firmly for about a minute. Then gently i began to swipe the pad to the outer corner of my eye. I repeated this process of pressing for a minute and then swiping gently about 3 times in order to remove most of the make-up. I then had to wet another pad with the remover to get the underside of my lashes and swipe away any last trace of make-up. The product itself left my eye slightly oily and i made the mistake of opening my eye after this process which left my vision blurry for a good 20 minutes. It is imparitive that you wash your eye with cleanser/soap after using the remover, otherwise you will have the same problem. However the product is very gentle and did not sting my eye or burn, and the only issue could be the oily quality which is easily washed away with soap.
I was quite pleased with this product, and was even more thrilled that i wasn't left with the black leftover mascara under my eyes(racoon eyes) that i was accustomed to after using my
previous eye make-up removers. This product was very gentle and non-irritating, and left the delicate skin in my eye area moisturized and soft after use. The packaging of the product is clean and cute with a see-through blue bottle that allows you to see the two liquids that need to be mixed before use, a white twist off cap, and a squirt type applicator. The application of this product was a breeze and well worth the money for me to be able to enjoy the beach without having to hide sore red eyes behind my shades. The product is abit pricey, but it is well worth it, because not many cheap make-up removers are gentle or effective enough, and the eyes are sensitive areas. You get what you pay for in this case, and overall i was very impressed with this product.
I first received this eye make up remover in a mascara gift set and have used it ever since. I have very sensitive eyes and most eye make up removers are too harsh and sting. This eye make up remover is not at all greasy and removes every trace of eye make up, including long lasting and waterproof mascaras. The eye make up remover has two separate liquids and you have to shake the bottle before use to mix them. I found that you only need a small amount and by just holding a cotton wool pad with the bi-facil on your eye for a few seconds, it removes the majority of your eye make up. This is a big advantage because there is no need for excessive rubbing which can irritate the eye area and cause wrinkles. Good value for money and quick and easy to use. I would highly recommend this to everyone.
