Lancome Day Cream
What is it?
A facial moisturising cream by lancome.
An intense daily facial moisturiser designed to tackle the first signs of aging such as wrinkles. It also helps to recharge the skin's natural moisture barrier.
What do I think?
I was really looking forward to using this as I had already tried the eye cream. I'm a bit concerned about this cream because I've used it twice and for both times, my skin appears to 'flake' off. What happens is, I apply the cream as normal after cleaning my face, after about half an hour when I go to look in the mirror, I gently try to rub off an eye lash that has fallen onto my face, when I do this, 'bits' of 'fluff' come off - after rubbing other areas of my face, I know this is not just fluff, but bits of skin rubbing off my face. I try the cream again the next day, and the same thing happens, bits of skin seem to rub off my face.
I am guessing that the cream is so strong that the skin can't withstand it and so the surface layers automatically remove themselves. I definitely would not recommend this for anyone younger than 25. Besides this, I have noticed that the cream is very rich as it leaves a layer of greasy residue on my face, and although I have only used it for a couple of days, I have not seen any immediate positive results.
The cream costs £50.50 for a small 50ml jar, I am so glad I have not bought this yet - I was lucky to have had tried a sample first. For anyone wanting to try this, I would really recommend trying the sample first, as I had really high expectations for this cream and I was lucky I only ended up with flaky bits of skin coming off (!).
Thanks for reading.
Lancome's Primordiale Intense is labelled as a Visible Skin Refining Anti-age Treatment but it is much, much more. The cream has a rich feel to it but when on the skin it does not leave any greasy residues. It goes on easily and absorbes well. It has a pale pink colour to it and a pleasant fragrance. The jar is quite plain in design but somehow in this case I feel less is more. The easily recognisable Lancome Rose is on top of the lid with Lancome in large letters around the lid as I suppose anyone can see from the photo. At £37.00 a jar it is expensive but I feel really worth it and a little goes a long way. The jar holds 50 mls. When you buy this at the Lancome counter quite often the assistant will give you one or two trial sizes of other products, this was one of the reasons I tried Primordiale, I received a trial size with a fragrance I purchased. Go to the Lancome counter in your nearest Departmant Store (mine is John Lewis in Glasgow) and ask to try this product, you will be smitten like me.
