Advantages: Removes cleanser well, washable, removes dead skin cells
Disadvantages: hmmm none I can think of
Liz Earle Muslin Cloths are used within the Liz Earle face care range. When you purchase the Cleanse and Polish starter kit (much hyped cleanser- absolutely fabulous- see an earlier review) you receive two muslin cloths alongside it.
Basically they are a square piece of white fabric- approx 20cm by 20cm, which is hemmed around the edge- this is good as it prevents fraying of the material. They are quite soft to the touch.
The muslin cloths are required as part of the Cleanse and Polish process. After applying the cleanser, the muslin cloth is rinsed under warm/hot water and massaged on the face to remove the cleanser. I use sweeping motions for this and find it very relaxing. After this, I rinse my muslin cloth in cooler water and lay over my face- this feels amazing and my skin feels invigorated. I like using the muslin cloths as I feel that I am gently exfoliating my skin and removing dead skin cells without the harshness of some brash exfoliater products that are available on the market.
After using the Cleanse and Polish skin care range for a few weeks, I can definitely see a difference in my skin- it is brighter, clearer and does glow a little. I think that my make up applies more evenly and lasts longer, and I have had far fewer break outs. This could be because using the muslin cloths to remove the cleanser rather than cotton pads ensures all the dirt and debris of the day is removed.
The muslin cloths are also recommended for use to remove some of Liz Earle's face masks.
On a plus note, the muslin cloths are machine washable and as there are two, I can rotate them so when one is in the wash the other is in use. I tend to wash them every couple of uses.
I have used other "hot polish cleansers" on the market which also provide you with muslin cloths. I have found these ones to be, by far, the best quality.
Two can be purchased on the Liz Earle website for £3.55, I also find that John Lewis stocks the Liz Earle brand.
