Liz Earle Skin Repair
Advantages: Hydrates my awful dry skin, smell, packaging
Disadvantages: some may argue it is expensive
Liz Earle is known for it's hair, skin and make-up products as well as it's fragrance and men's range, which means men, can enjoy being vain too!
The moisturizer I purchased from Liz Earle is called 'Skin repair' and has become a reward winning product for it's excellence.
Despite this the product is £18.75 for a 50ml jar, now this may seem expensive to some but it is actually fairly reasonably priced in comparison to some of the other premier brands who charge a lot more for a, in my eyes less great result.
My skin is ridiculously dry, some people are blessed with lovely hydrated skin, never moisturize and have to do so little to their skin. Well although I have never suffered with spots, I do suffer with really dry skin, which is in fact combination as it does become oily throughout the day in some areas. Bad combination I know, literally! So anyway, it is important I buy a good product in order to hydrate my skin because I like many women wear foundation every day, so I need something that will make my skin look hydrated before I put my slap on. I have tried primers and wasn't really convinced after a while!
This product is available in a tube or a jar. It comes in an incredibly light green tube/jar and has the product name and brand on the front. It is very simple but elegant and although some may say boring, I actually really like the packaging and the colour makes it look natural and fresh which is something I find important in skin care.
After using my Hot Cloth Cleanser (Another of Liz Earle's products) For those of you who don't know it's a cleaner, which comes with a muslin cloth, which you use with hot water to cleanse your skin. Another item I can't stress how much I can't live without! Anyway, after cleansing the skin and toning I use my fingertip to gently massage the product into my hand. You only need to use a small amount of this product, as the consistency is fairly thick, not too thick however; just thick enough to spread and not feel like you have a mask on! The smell of the product is beautiful, as unhelpful as this sounds I honestly couldn't really describe how it smells because I haven't smelt anything like it. All I would say is that it smells gentle, fresh and natural just like the packaging. I can see a theme developing!
The ingredients in the product really say a lot about the product:
The full details on the ingredients are actually on the site with pictures and a description of the ingrediant, which I think is extremely useful and good of the brand to do. Something I haven't seen before. I will list a few of the ingredients and some of the properties that make the moisturizer so good:
Glycerin- Attracts water and draws it onto the skin which helps the hydration process.
Wheatgerm Oil- Has high levels of vitamin E which most of us will know are a main feature in moisturisers and are an antioxidant.
Avocado Oil -This is an interesting one! The flesh of avocado contains nearly half plant oil. This is yet another great source of vitamin E.
There are many more ingredients like I mentioned previously on the website so before purchasing you should take a look. It really proves why it is such a good hydrator!
Do I love this product?
Yes! I honestly have never used a moisturizer that I have loved as much as this one. My skin has never been in such a good condition after using it. I have used the product in the winter and it still looks good so it is definitely winter proof, something as daft as it sounds is something I really look for in a moisturiser when I am purchasing it, even if it's in the summer!
I love this product so much. To those who think it's expensive, please do not be put off. Put it on your Christmas list. Even buy it with the intention of never purchasing one again (Oh god I sound like a sales person) it is honestly worth trying it out and seeing how good skin care can be.
You can even purchase it on QVC and send it back if you do not like it, something QVC have been doing for years and something I think really is a positive aspect of their company because there are many times I see products I'm not sure I want to try because of the price in case I hate them so it's always good to know I can send it back if I don't like it, even if it is used!
