Advantages: Vegan, great spa type treat that works
My search for a top quality, vegan friendly facial cleanser that had good results for my sensitive, though combination, skin has taken me around a few websites and shops, with a variety of claims; prices and brands. I am pleased to say that I need not look any further as I am now very happy with Lush 'Angels on bare skin'.
HISTORY OF LUSH
Constantine and Weir began working together in a beauty parlour in 1977 and became good friends with similar interests. They then started a small business together called 'Herbal hair and beauty clinic'. Because their products where very different to anything else around at that time they didn't do particularly well - the products where innovative but not of great commercial value. In the early 80's they heard about Annita Roddick ( Body Shop) and empathised with her passion and philosophy. They offered her the chance to sell some of their products and she agreed. The relationship with Body Shop was successful for many years and Constantine and Weir produced many great selling lines including Peppermint foot lotion and Cocoa body butter. They had to take extra staff on because of the demand for products. The relationship with Body Shop ended when it was deemed that the input from Constantine and Weir was too influential.
In 1987, following an £11 million pound payout from Body Shop, Constantine and Weir founded at company called 'Cosmetics to go'. This was a mail order business which unfortunately had complications due to not enough stock to fulfill demand, computers crashing and then poor sales during a christmas period as customers where concerned that the gifts wouldn't arrive in time. They went into administration in 1994.
In 1995 the founders of 'Cosmetics to go' regrouped and began making products from fresh fruits. Hard work and determination saw the opening of a store in Poole which saw an influx of custom. Initially they called themselves 'Cosmetic warriors from the temple of temptation' but couldn't have that title as it was already registered so they used ' Cosmetic House'. They were never really happy with that name as it sounded like a fashion house so they held a customer competition to name the store and Elizabeth Bennet from Glasgow won with 'LUSH'. They moved into a factory and began experimenting and developing more and more products which were recieved well and from there the rest is history.

LETS LOOK AT LUSH ANGELS ON BARE SKIN NOW
STARTING WITH PACKAGING
Good quality, minimalistic, packaging - comes unboxed in a black tub. Attractive font that details what is within and who made it - with a picture of the person who made it and an expiry date.
An 'angelic cleanser scent from heaven'. Based on a medieval skincare recipe and essential oils brought to Europe by crusaders who discovered Arabian medicine. This mousse type consistency - when mixed with warm water - will treat your face like the angels themselves. Classic rose and lavendar oil work with Almond which exfoliates beautifully and gently. Skin is improved in texture and the product helps to keep skin clear.
HOW TO USE
Wet the face, get a pea sized amount of 'Angels' and mix with a small amount of warm water into a paste. Massage gently into the face in round motions and rinse off with warm water. It is as simple as that and a real spa type treat, the fragrance is gorgeous.
MY THOUGHTS AFTER USING FOR SOME TIME
The angels have certainly worked wonders for my complexion. I find the product easy to use and rather like a girly spa treat. I normally put it on whilst relaxing in the bath and leave on for a minute or two and then rinse. The smell is gorgeous. My complexion is glowing and smooth and clear. The tub is easy to use with a screw lid and keeps the product fresh and clean. As you only use a small amount each time this product will last ages! So great value too.
I like this product a lot. The price is a little expensive compared to some other cleansers but you do get what you pay for and this stuff is freshly made from great ingredients and it lasts ages. It is a treat to use and adds to the bath time experience of relaxing with candles. My skin is in great, smooth, baby soft condition and that is a first in a long long time as I have never had results like this before - I am off to get some more!
Have a go with 'Angels'.
