Advantages: Troubled Skin, Redness, Spots, Uneven Skin tone and complexion - GONE!!!!
Disadvantages: It doesn't look great but who cares when it works this well
The Angels on Bare Skin cleanser is well known for those living in the world of Lush and I have now been using the product for 2 weeks everyday and my skin is so improved! Now it may not look like Angels from the weird lump shown in pictures but do not let looks be deceiving!
The Lush Angels on Bare Skin is a solid cleanser that turns to milk when added to water. It is sold in Lush in 100g lots for £5.95. It is made a one one length of cleanser - rolled up and cut into 100 g sections. This is then popped into the Lush black pots. The pot has white writing on it stating the name, ingredients and directions of use.
Ingredients:-
Ground Almonds
Kaolin
Lavender Oil
Rose Absolute
Chamomile
Lavender Flowers
All the ingredients in the Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser are natural, there are no chemicals to attack and damage your skin. The ground Almonds turn to milk when water is added and also serve as a slight exfoliant. The Kaolin absorbs grease and works as the cleanser and the Rose, Lavender and Chamomile mositurise and tone and the lavendar flowers are added as the cleanser is rolled up. I was drawn to the product for the most part for the 100% natural ingredients, then I saw other review who on the whole were raving about it! You can smell the lavender and the Almonds, but these fragrances do not stay on your skin, which in the case of my face I do prefer it not to smell of cleanser.
Directions of Use:-
From Lush.co.uk "Put it in the palm of your hand, add a little water and mix to a paste or milk texture - then apply to face, work over the face then rinse off with warm water". I found I needed a piece roughly the size of a sprout (that's the only thing I could liken it to size wise). By using this amount I got a mixture of the milk cleanser and left a little cleanser in its solid form which worked as a exfoliater. It's a very different type of cleanser as it is solid. It's tricky to get the knack of it without getting in a complete mess. It can vary on how well it turns into the milk I have found. Sometimes it transforms with a little mixing and other times it takes a while. It rinses off easily though, and as mentioned when you have the knack of mixing it its a lovely product.
Verdict
When I started using the Angels on Bare Skin I was being plagued with spots all over my face, and was trying many products to help. I found that the Freederm range helped to clear the spots up but was too harsh for my skin over a long period of time, and so had also tried the steamer tabs from Lush. These also really cleansed my skin, but it was too much to do every night. After using the Angels On Bare Skin Cleanser, hand on heart I have not had one more spot, and unlike the Freederm, I hasn't solved this issue with drying the skin out and causing redness.
The cleanser will take off all your makeup - I use eye makeup remover for my eyes - and if you use a toner afterwards, I have found that there was no residue of makeup or dirt left at all! Your skin feels cleansed, dewy and mositurised. It actually feels like your skin has been kissed by angels - no joke! It soothes and reduces redness, evens skin-tone and even's out your skins complexion! I only need a very light moisturiser after using this and my skin is improved beyond words! I cannot thank Lush enough!
Summary: All my other cleansers have been thrown out!
