Advantages: makes skin soft, clean and smooth, customisable to your skin, natural, helps get rid of oil

Disadvantages: smell takes a bit of getting used to, messier than traditional cleansers

I know that LUSH isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I personally really enjoy their products. I definitely prefer natural products as I'm a bit wary about some of the harsh chemicals that are in a lot of body/skin care products. I have been using LUSH for years - they have a lot of really great products but Angels On Bare Skin is definitely one of my favourites! I can see why it's one of LUSH's best selling products.

I have quite oily skin and had been looking for something to combat it for a while. I was looking at reviews on the LUSH website and a lot of people said AOBS was good for oily/combo skin, and being LUSH, the ingredients were all natural. It appealed to me from the start.
It's a little different to ordinary cleansers as it's a solid that you add water to and make a paste. I wasn't sure of this to begin with, but now I really like it as you can change the consistency as your skin changes - you can have it chunkier and more exfoliating or thinner and milkier. Even though it's classed as a cleanser, I think it can double up as a lovely scrub if you only add a few splashes of water. It definitely has exfoliating effects.

AOBS contains, among other things, ground almonds that turn to almond milk when you add water which tones and brightens skin, kaolin (a soft clay) to absorb oil and cleanse, glycerine (don't worry - it's vegetable derived so is fine for vegans) to soften and moisturise and a few lavender flowers for good measure. By making this a solid cleanser instead of a liquid one, LUSH have taken away the need to add preservatives which can upset your skin.
I usually use this in the shower as it is a bit messy! I just scoop up a small amount of product (about the size of a small grape) as a little goes a long way, add some warm water and rub all over my face in circular motions. It's amazing how well AOBS works - all the oil on my face is instantly absorbed and my face is left feeling so clean and baby soft. My skin never feels tight or dry after using this. I find the scent quite strong but definitely not unpleasant, however I thought I'd throw this out there as I know some people are sensitive to scents.

It definitely takes a little bit of getting used to and mixing it with water can be a little tricky and more time-consuming than a traditional cleanser, but persevere with it as it leaves your skin feeling heavenly soft and clean. I'd recommend it for those who are looking for something to combat oily skin, but if you have sensitive or dry skin I'd recommend you to use it very 'watered down' so it's more of a cleansing milk as to not irritate your skin as it is quite exfoliating for a cleanser.
Angels On Bare Skin is £5.95 for a 100g pot and can be brought from LUSH stores or on their website.
