Advantages: Excellent for spots
Disadvantages: Expensive
Catastrophe Cosmetic is just one of the Fresh Face Masks made and sold by Lush. I regularly use the face masks from Lush and I tend to chop and change between the few they have on offer depending on what my face needs on that particular day. Each Fresh Face mask caters to different needs.
As I wear make up 5 days out of 7, I occassionally get the odd spot or two. And when I say spot, I mean something that could rival a witches wart! They are huge. When I popped into Lush and explained my dilemma, the sales assistant said to me it was because the make up I used was blocking my pores and I needed something to cleanse my face. And that was when she recommended Catastrophe Cosmetic to me.
For £5.75 you get 75g of product in a little black tub. If you collect 5 of the black tubs you can take them back to Lush (provided you have cleaned them!) and they will give you a Fresh Face Mask for free. The Fresh Face Masks contain no preservatives so you have to store them in the fridge and use them before they best before date. You usually have 3-4 weeks to use them. If you don't think you are going to get through a pot you can stick it in the freezer and it will be just fine when thawed.
Catastrophe Cosmetic is made from fresh blueberries as they contain antioxidents and vitamins which are good for your skin. As you apply the face mask you will find little bits of blueberry which do feel really nice on the skin! It also contains rose absolute and chamomile essential oil to reduce redness and irritation caused by spots. The mask is a purple/grey colour.
It is very easy to apply - you just take it out of the fridge, scoop a little bit on your fingertips and apply a thick and generous amount all over your face. You can feel it set on your face but it doesn't affect what you are doing though little bits do tend to drop off so it is probably best to do it in the bath. I leave my masks on for 15-20 minutes. You then easily remove it with warm water.
I absolutely love Catastrophe Cosmetic. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and it really does reduce the redness of spots. I always find my spots to have shrunk or completely gone the dy after using this. The blueberries leave a lovely subtle scent on your skin which is very nice.
Highly recommended
