Advantages: Does Reduce Spots, Quick, Effective, Price

Disadvantages: Could Find Better For A Higher Price

I have particularly 'teenage' skin which is very oily and often prone to breakouts. I'm sick of getting horrible spots, and as a student exams often make me stressed, and I have tried various lotions and potions in the quest to reduce the redness and oiliness of my skin. I had read in the Lush Times (a newspaper devoted to all things Lush) that 'Grease Lightning' was an effective spot treatment for oily, spot prone skin, so I thought I would give it a go.

I went into store and looked for the bottle. I admit it was a lot smaller than I anticipated, and it is only 45g of product in the bottle, however it is a convenient size to pop in your handbag and carry around with you. I didn't bother testing it in store because I find that you have to experiment with skincare over a week or two to find out the real results.

This product is available to buy in all Lush stores or online at www.lush.co.uk and it retails at a price of £5.10 currently. This is a slightly high price I must admit, although I felt entitled to purchase it in order to combat my horrible skin! The reason this is priced so high is because Lush use all natural ingredients, and this spot treatment is vegan friendly.

As you can see from the image, the product is nothing special to look at, but who wants people to notice their spot treatment really? It just comes in a little black bottle with a pump dispenser to get the liquid out. After taking the cap off, I pressed the pump down once and the liquid came out with no problems, and it shoots out in tiny pea sized amounts, which is actually all you need to use.

I took the pea sized amount and applied it directly to red areas of my skin and where I had any spots and blemishes and left it for a couple of minutes. I instantly felt my skin become much tighter in these areas and it felt more dry, which is excellent for my usual oily skin. After applying this to the same blemishes for three days, I did notice results and it helped them to disappear far quicker than normal, which I was very impressed with.

This face gel consists of tea tree oil, aloe and witch hazel, therefore you can imagine it has that tea tree scent to it. The smell isn't particularly nice, however it isn't off putting.

Admittedly, there are probably more effective spot treatments out there on the market, but I feel that for £5.10 this is quite effective for my skin type in particular. It doesn't always work out for some people, but I have been lucky in finding a product that works with my skin for a reasonable price.

Overall, I am really pleased with this purchase and will continue to use it on a regular basis when my skin becomes hard to manage. Even though there are more effective spot treatments out there, I doubt you'll be able to find one this effective for the price of Grease Lightning. Thanks for reading.

Summary: Helped my skin out quickly and effectively.
