      2 Step Microdermabrasion Set

Mary Kay Ash founded Beauty by Mary Kay in 1963 with the help of her 20 year old son and her $5000 savings. The business now has 1.8 million Independent Beauty Consultants worldwide and is known as one of America greatest female entrepreneurs. The website makes the following claims regarding this product; 85% saw improvement in skin texture. 73% saw a reduction in fine lines.71% saw smaller-looking pores. So let's see how it works. My experience of the Mary Kay Time Wise Microdermabrasion set is extremely positive. I ordered my free sample from latestbeauty.com and received it two weeks later. The sample was extremely generous compared to most and consisted of two long sachets each divided into three sub sachets, made so you can split them up. In total I received three sets of the Microdermabrasion treatment. The sachets are white with an image of the product on it. Step 1 Refine shows a free standing tube with a pinks screw cap, black writing and a simple font explaining the product in both English and French. Step 2 Replenish shows a pump style bottle with a pink push down pump at the top. My samples however were 10oz/3g of Step 1 and 0.4oz/1ml of step 2. Having researched the product further I cannot confirm whether these products are sold in packaging similar to that depicted on the sachets, as some of the items I have found seem to vary but the majority are as described. Step 1 - Refine - The formula to refine your skin is just that; a refined product in white which appears like a lotion but applied with a finger is actually an advanced exfoliator which the May Kay website says uses the same professional grade exfoliating crystals that dermatologists use, made to remove any dead skin cells from the facial area. The particles which feel like sand are very small, not like many exfoliators where it can feel like you are scrubbing your face away. You do not need a lot of this product, infact the packet suggests applying a "quarter" sized amount (approximately 24mm in diameter) to a wet face before rinsing with water and patting dry. When using such products I tend to really work it into my skin covering the entire facial area, jaw line and neck. This way you treat the entire area generally exposed to the elements on a regular basis. After following the guidance and patting dry you are ready to move onto step 2. Step 2 - Replenish - The formula to replenish looks and feels like a silky serum. The product is a pastel pink colour, yet translucent on the skin. It is of a fairly runny consistency which can be easily absorbed by the skin and is full of vitamins and antioxidants. There are no guidelines on the sachets I received on how to use this product to replenish so I have tried 2 methods. 1) Applying to the area previously refined and running in until fully absorbed. 2) Applying to the area previously refined and adding water before patting dry. I applied the 2nd technique mainly because a little of this serum goes a long way and I had applied too much. Thinking I was saving time I squeezed the amount into the palm of my hand, rubbed my hands together and applied generously across my face. However you are meant to allow the formula to work its magic by allowing it to be absorbed. I would say that both options had the desired effect. My skin was left feeling wonderful. It was smooth and glowed. The serum hadn't created a shiny effect which I was worried about, not had it made my skin oily and I was extremely pleased with the outcome. It is very difficult to explain the scent these products carry, but it is not unpleasant and not too strong. I would only use these products once a week or so as it is a Microdermabrasion set and is designed to remove a build up of dead skin and other nastiest which may be clogging the pores. Over use will probably lead to very dry skin and prevent it from doing its job to protect efficiently, however the website indicates you can use it on a regular basis. The brand Mary Kay claims that this product has instant results that "Fight fine lines, refine pores and achieve beautiful skin - immediately." I would say that my skin was fantastic after using the set and I would definitely recommend buying it if you can afford to. At present it remains on my wish list. Prices vary, the official site is America and this set costs $55 on Ebay a set is £24.99 + postage which doesn't work out much cheaper once converted from dollars. Please make sure if you order from Ebay you read the advert as some I looked at were selling products past their use by date. Also on Ciao under Carysb
