Molton Brown’s marine therapy range is not just about body care as they have a couple of facial products in the range as well. One of these is the Clear Skin Marine Exfoliator which is a cleansing facial scrub. If you are like me and steer clear of facial scrubs thinking that they will be too harsh, then perhaps this particular one may be suitable for you. I have to admit that I had very bad acne as a teenager and was given a facial scrub on prescription which had particles the size of apple seeds. Ouch! I vowed never to use one again, until now. The MB Exfoliator contains natural wax jojoba beads which are very fine and not as harsh on the skin as you may think they would be. In fact, after I had first used it, my skin felt quite refreshed with only the slightest hint of tightness. However, the tightness was soon fixed by using some MB toner afterwards. It is usually recommended that you use an exfoliator once a week to remove dead skin cells, however, I was informed my the MB Consultant, at my local Frasers, that this particular one was gentle enough to be used twice a week if need be. The cleansing base is not thick and dry but has a reasonable creamy texture and is very easy to use and massage on to your skin. It is pale green with the wax beads being a lovely torquoise - so at least you can see if you have left a clump of them on the end of your nose! It comes packed in a 100ml silver and white tube emblazened with the Molton Brown logo and costs £15. This seems expensive but I use it once a week, have had mine for 6 months and am no where near the end of the tube yet. If you want to try it out, you could always ask for a sample - from personal experience, the MB consultants are usually willing to offer you a small amount to try at home. May be worth try if your skin is looking a bit dull and needs that extra boost!
