After being recommended to me by QVCs resident beauty expert Alison Young, I decided to give this one a go. As I have combination skin i was worried that using too rich a moisturiser would make my shiny T-zone worse and contribute to even more blackheads. I am glad to say that 7 months down the line I have just bought my 3rd bottle. I have been extremely pleased with the results i have observed. There has been a definite improvement in skin texture as my forehead especially feels alot smoother to the touch. The largest size available is 30mls which comes in a handy, clear pump-action dispenser. Not only does this mean that use of the product is kept hygenic as you are not contaminating the whole bottle with any substance that may be on your fingers, but the fact that it is a clear canister, which empties from the bottom up, means that you know exactly how much of the product you have left and more importantly when you have to buy another so that you are never without it. Using this product every morning, I find it lasts a good three months. I find that 2 pumps is enough to cover my whole face and neck. The Molton Brown guest on QVC (I can't remember her name) says that you get 186 pumps out of the dispenser. I have not tested this obviously but if you do like to use more or less of the oproduct than I do you should be able to determine how long it will last for you. Around 30 seconds after applying the product is virtually undetectable to the eye. This means that it is great for men who don't particularly want everyone to know they use a moisturiser which is often the case as you are left with the tell-tale greasy shine with other brands. At £22.50 from QVC and £25 from the Molton Brown counter at Fraser's the product definately isn't the cheapest but it certainly delivers comfortable moisture throughout the day in a matte finish - perfect for those like me with shiny T-zones. All in all i
would say that this is a great product and most peolpe should get visible results within 6 weeks of using.
A huge variety of mattifiers and matte moisturisers seem to have hot the market in the past couple of years, and this is one of the nicest, in many ways, that there is. For one it smells absolutely divine; that scent alone, first thing in the morning, is worth buying this for (just about!) It's a very very light-textured linky/lilac toned lotion which you apply in the usual way. You're supposed to wait a couple of minutes before applying make-up (I'm not sure why, this isn't filmogenic) and the product should help keep shine away. The good news is that, worn on its own, it definitely does just that - for me anyway. The effect isn't as dramatic as with some creams, but this stays very pleasant throughout the day. The bad news is that this is hopeless under make-up. Make-up (foundation and/or powder) of whatever kind (and believe me I have a comprehensive collection to try it on!) seems to completely negate the effect. Worse, it's just about impossible to apply make-up on top of this. The product disintegrates into nasty little rolls and/or breaks up. So: worth it for natural-look types; not so for make-up junkies like me. The moisturiser comes in a 30ml pump dispenser which is great for keeping it free from contamination. I use mine rarely and it's lasted for over 2 years without any ill effects.
