“ Brand: Molton Brown / Texture: Cream / Type: Moisturiser / Skin type: for dry skin / What it does: Repairs, Protects „
I am an avid fan of the Molton Brown range and another of my favourite products is their day time moisturiser - Intensive Daily Replenisher. This moisturiser promises to combat dehydration throughout the day leaving skin feeling supple and comfortable. It achieves this by using slow release liposomes which, as the name suggests, releases moisture onto your skin as the day goes on. This means that as well as getting a moisture boost when you first apply the product, your skin is also prevented from drying out as the hours pass. I use this moisturiser each day and find that it is light enough to use before applying make up. I have combination skin (dry cheeks and oily T-zone) and find that it is easily absorbed onto my skin. It is moisturising enough for the drier areas but not too rich for use on my greasier T-zone and it does leave my skin feeling soft to the touch. The Daily Replenisher is packaged in a stylish 30ml vacuum pump bottle emblazoned with the familiar Molton Brown logo. This bottle helps to keep the product fresh as it prevents air or bacteria getting to it. I have also found that it is ideal for those with long nails because scooping out cream from a jar is not very easy to do if your nails are a bit on the long side! At £18.50 for 30ml, I feel that it is quite reasonably priced for a moisturiser from a highly respected range such as Molton Brown - if you compare this with prices from other premium ranges you will see what I mean. I have found that, as with all MB products, a little goes a long way as I use it daily and have had a bottle for nearly six months now. This may be because I use other MB products and I find that the MB toner prepares the skin really well for a moisturiser such as the Daily Replenisher. The only disadvantage about the Molton Brown range is that it is not widely available. However, it can be found in a few branches of House of Fraser and on QVC (Sky Digit al channel 630). You can also order it direct from MB themselves via their website: www.moltonbrown.co.uk However, the advantage of buying it in places like Frasers is that you can always ask for a sample first, to see if it agrees with your skin and I can say that all of the Molton Brown assistants that I have come across have been very helpful and not at all scary (like you can find at some make-up counters). So if your skin needs replenishing, you could do a lot worse than to take a look at Molton Brown’s Intensive Daily Replenisher.
This light moisturiser is part of Molton Brown's core range, which aims to provide skincare solutions for both men and women of many skin types. Having used this on and off for many years, I think the product does pretty much exactly what it claims; it offers an effective moisturiser that will work for most people, without any frills or fuss. Like so much of Molton Brown, this has a lovely scent, but nothing that wouldn't be suitable for men, who, apparently, buy quite a lot of this. It contains ceramides and liposomes, which are designed to keep the moisturising effect going all day. I'm not sure that's entirely achieved, but it's not far off. Vitamin E is another key ingredient, but, unlike many other creams with this component, this moisturiser isn't at all heavy. It also works pretty well under make-up. It comes in an attractive and functional pump dispenser which helps the product to have a long shelf-life after it's opened without containing too many preservatives - which does mean it will be suitable for many with more sensitive skins. I'd say this was suitable for people with slightly dry through to slightly oily skin. The price below is for 30ml which lasts quite a long time because of the very light texture.
